About: Travis gets poisoned. What's Katie got to do about it?

Time: Very close to the Giant War. The campers are getting ready for it.

Here you go.

Katie's POV:

"Katie! Katie, there's a problem! Come quick!"

I looked up to see Miranda running towards me. She looked like she was going to burst with tension. Then again, these days everyone looked like that.

"It's Travis! He's hurt!"

I froze. Travis? What now?

"Where?" I asked.

Miranda gestured for me to follow her.

I raced after my sister, my heart pounding. Travis, that reckless fool! What could he have done that would get him poisoned?

Could it have been the enemy? Gaia? Giants? The Romans?

Questions I couldn't answer flew through my head.

I ran as fast as I could. Travis may have been an idiot, but he was also my boyfriend and I cared about him.

Travis.

I braced myself as we neared the Big House. I had to assume the worst, even if I wasn't ready for it.

Hold on, Travis.

Miranda and I ran into the infirmary. I pushed my way through the people to Travis' side.

I crouched next to him and looked up at Will Solace. "Do you know what happened?" I asked desperately.

Will shook his head.

"He was brought to me by some other camper. They said Travis was found near the woods. I examined him and it looks like some intricate poison is seeping through his blood."

I bit my lip. What was going to happen now?

"Ambrosia?" I questioned Will. He shook his head again.

"We're trying. It's not working, but Travis has been calling for you."

I turned back to Travis. He groaned, his brown hair soaked with sweat. He groaned and twisted, his brows furrowing.

A deep anger rose at whoever did this.

Travis shifted, gasping for breath.

"Katie..." he groaned softly. His voice was raspy and tired. I glared at Will. "Don't just stand there! Help him!"

Will flinched. "Um.. Yeah, yeah, I'm on it!"

Will knelt next to me and placed his palms on Travis' chest.

I pushed back Travis' hair and ran the back of my hand against his cheek. Travis leaned into my touch and relaxed a little.

"Katie..."

"I'm here." I murmured.

"Just keep him calm. This might hurt a bit." Will cautioned.

I nodded. Will closed his eyes and muttered a prayer to Apollo. He began humming a hymn beneath his breath and his hands glowed.

Travis cried out and his body convulsed. "Miranda!" I cried. "Help me restrain him!"

Miranda ran to Travis' other side and held him down.

"Travis! Calm down! I'm right here!" I leaned over Travis and pressed my lips to his wet forehead.

Travis yelped in pain again. Will winced and concentrated harder.

"Hold on," he murmured.

Another tense minute passed before Will finished. He passed out almost immediately. Miranda rushed to feed him some ambrosia.

Travis moaned and rolled over to his side. Unfortunately with the fact that he was on a twin bed meant that he fell on me.

"Ahh!" I cried. Travis just kept snoring. I sighed.

Miranda giggled as she tucked Will onto a nearby bed. I glared at her but she just laughed harder.

Travis stirred at the sound of her laugh.

"Travis!" Despite the fact that he was on top of me, I was relieved that he was awake.

Travis' bright blue eyes widened and my cheeks burned as I realized the situation we were in. Travis sat up and groaned almost immediately.

He clutched his head and a shot of worry rushed through me.

"Careful." I said. "What do you think you were doing? You need to be more careful! Do you have any idea how worried I was?"

Travis smiled weakly and kissed my cheek. "Sorry, Katie-kat." he whispered.

I softened as I realized how weak he must have been feeling. "Here." I murmured. "Lie down. You need your rest."

I grabbed a piece of ambrosia and Travis swallowed it.

"Thanks." he mumbled, his eyes fluttering shut. I sat next to Travis. "Goodnight, Travis." I whispered.

"Katie?"

"Yes?"

"Can you stay with me?"

I smiled. "Of course Travis."

Thanks to you guys, I have a pretty good idea for X. I won't tell you what it is, though.
