Authors Note: Hi! So it turns out your final year of high school is like, really hard and you have like, lots of homework. So sorry for the delay, school has been at my beck and call lately to my disfortune. I hope you haven't forgotten this story though I won't be surprised if you have. Just as a side note: Meagan (Emma's adoptive mother is 45years of age.) I seem to have made an error regarding her age at the start, which I will fix ASAP. Anyway I hope you enjoy this chapter, this was a next idea in addition to my original plot, and so tell me if you like it!

Here you go!

Present

"You must've been shitting bricks, ay, Regina?" Granny drawled out playfully, taking a sip of her 4th or 5th glass of champagne.

The group of woman laughed with glee, clearly amused by Granny's little side comment in reference to Regina declaring Emma to be her girlfriend. The brunette herself went a shade of red, as she sipped her own glass of champagne. To be honest, it was more like a swig. She remembered exactly how nervous she was, but she was glad she did it otherwise they may not have been here today in this very moment.

Regina cleared her throat, as the group focused their attention on the bride.

"I may or may not have been a little nervous..."

The ladies immediately broke out into hysterics, some of them mumbling 'Pfffttt', others not knowing why they were even laughing. Emma grinned at the scene in front of them, and leaned in closer to her wife.

"Looks like they are all having a great time." She whispered gently, adoring the women who heavily influenced her life.

Regina chuckled, "I think so, dear." Her brows crinkled slightly, "And I do believe your mother is the most intoxicated out of all of them." She stated, quite shocked herself.

Emma frowned, perplexed. "What gave you that idea?"

"She just asked Granny if she had an apple to eat, one that is preferably not poisonous."

The blonde's eyes widened, "Wow. She may be trying to conquer her fear of apples. No thanks to a certain queen." She mumbled the last bit and glanced her wife. Regina quirked an eyebrow at the comment and pursed her lips together.

"Evil Queen, dear. Never forget the 'evil' part." The brunette smirked, mirth dancing in her dark brown eyes.

Emma rolled her eyes, "No one would think you're evil now. You're much like an adorable lost puppy." She giggled leaning onto her wife, rubbing her nose against the shell of her ear.

"You're lucky its our wedding day, otherwise I would have turned you into a toad for that quip."

The sheriff laughed whole-heartedly at her wife's threat. "Aaww, honey. Look at you throwing harmless threats." She kissed the side of Regina's head.

"So what happened next?" Snow started, drunkenly. "Did you fuck each others brains out for the rest of the night? Or-"

"SNOW!" The ladies squealed in astonishment.

"Mom!" Emma screeched, obviously horrified by the words that had just left her own mother's mouth.

"I'd say it's a pretty fair question." Granny shrugged.

"On second thought, I second that. They have already had a lot of sex, why not more?" Blue nodded shamelessly.

Regina was frozen from shock and Emma seemed as though she was going to have a heart attack, "Okay, stop right there!" She exclaimed.

Everyone seemed to ignore her.

Ruby pitched in, "Well, sex does reduce stress and it's great to burn off a few extra calories." She summed up, gleefully with a wink sent towards a blushing Belle.

Kyrah jumped in, "Okay guys, stop sending the brides into shock and let's just continue with the story, kapeesh?" She shrugged, her eyes glazing over the fairly intoxicated yet still attentive group of ladies.

"Kapeesh" They all recited in unison, much to Emma and Regina's delight.

Kathryn couldn't wipe the beaming grin off her face, as she averted her gaze back onto the brides. "Please continue! Is it happily ever after yet?" She chirped, excitedly.

The blonde took a moment to really ponder Kathryn's off-handed question. Her eyebrows burrowed, "Almost, I think." She glanced sideways at Regina who also seemed to be considering the question.

"I think..." The Mayor paused, "I think we moved into a fully developed relationship extremely quickly. And everything panned out to our favour, most of the time." She spoke quietly, as the group listened tentatively.

Emma smiled lightly, "Exactly what she said." She quickly pecked her wife on the lips, earning a couple of groans and whistles from the group.

The blonde resumed, "Anyway the morning after the celebration went great. Me and Henry-"

"Henry and I." Snow corrected, as she carefully nursed a full glass of water.

Emma huffed, "Henry and I played this game on the Wii and I think it was called Just..." She thought for a moment, attempting to recall the game. "Just-"

...

Past

"So, what is this game called again?" Emma questioned as she began doing leg stretches. Her muscles always ached in the mornings. If she knew Henry was going to make her participate in a form of aerobic exercise at this ungodly hour (aka 8.30am) then she would have stayed in Regina's bed, with her arms wrapped around the woman as they were all through the night. She smiled at the thought of her girlfriend. Yes, she was still giddy to the term. Even though they had only confirmed their relationship last night at the celebration, the feeling was still so overwhelming but in the best way possible.

"Just Dance!" Henry exclaimed, waving around the remote to locate the pointer on the screen. Emma snapped out of her reverie.

"And your mom plays this with you?" She questioned, slightly curious as to the brunettes interests around the household. Despite how much they bickered and spent time with each other during the celebrations, they didn't really know the foundations of one another. That is, favourite colour, movie genres, foods. They were yet to really explore one another in that sense.

The young boy pondered the question for a moment, "Sometimes, only if she's in a good mood. And if it's the Rasputin song - she loves that one." He laughed as he thought of her dancing to the Russian tune.

Emma saw one of her favourite songs of all time move across the screen. "Wait! Stop! Can we do that one?!" She grinned with joy.

Henry quirked an eyebrow, "You sure, ma?" He giggled.

The blonde rolled her eyes playfully, "Yes, I'm sure! It's a classic for this century, she has a nice ass-"

"Mom!" He exclaimed, eyes widening.

Emma choked on air, "I meant gluteus maximus. Yep. A nice pair of...glutes." She stated awkwardly before moving to her side of the room. "Come on, kid, play it!" She urged and he smiled in delight.

The song had begun and the pair immediately danced to the beat.

The sun shone brightly through the Mayor's bedroom. Birds chirped happily and the air was unusually warm at this time of year. Regina groaned silently, her slight chill bothered her as she rolled over – expecting to come into contact with the warm blonde. Much to her dismay, the sheets were cold. She immediately sprung up, fear racing down her spine. She knew Emma was a runner and that the new situation may have been too overwhelming for the woman. Regina threw on a black silk robe before quickly heading downstairs. Her anxiety dissipated at the sound of laughter floating to her ears from multiple sources. She took deep breaths as a smile made its way onto her features. The brunette moved discreetly to the living room door and leant against the frame, watching the two most important people in her life dance to 'Single Ladies' by Beyoncé.

Emma was so immensely uncoordinated that Regina could no longer hold in her laughter.

The blonde spun around, her cheeks a slight darker shade as she grinned at the brunette. Henry paused the game and moved towards Regina, kissing her good morning before heading off into the kitchen for some well deserved water.

Regina smirked as she sauntered closer to her girlfriend, "Single ladies, huh?" She chuckled.

Emma laughed, and wrapped her arms around the brunette's waist- pulling her closer. "Yep. Although I'm not single anymore, some lady out there is super lucky to have moi." She tightened her grasp on the woman.

The brunette tilted her head slightly, admiring the beauty of the woman before her eyes. "They are very lucky." She whispered before capturing Emma's lips in a gentle kiss that lacked urgency but was passionate without a doubt. When they parted Regina spoke, "We need to tell Henry about us." She breathed out, her uncertainty quite apparent.

Emma nodded, "Yes, we will and he will be all for it." She smiled confidently.

The brunette raised an eyebrow, "How can you be so sure?"

'Well he has my genes, duhh. I pretty much go along with anything." Emma grinned cheekily.

Regina raised a curious brow, "Really, dear? I will have to use that to my advantage now." She smirked, pulling the woman closer to her.

"Should I be afraid?"

"Most certainly."

Time had flown quickly in the Mills household. The trio had indulged in a day encompassed by each other: Regina found herself in a few compromising positions while playing Twister. Emma found the whole incident quite hilarious, much to the brunette's dismay. They enjoyed an outing at Granny's for lunch and to the Mayor's surprise the other residents didn't seem surprised at her unusual happy demeanour with her son and Emma, a relatively new person in town. Either that or they were all too afraid of her to show their true reactions to the abnormal circumstances. In all honestly, Regina would have preferred the latter. She didn't want any of the other residents to believe she was going soft all of a sudden. No, that was not her style at all. Regina and Emma also disclosed their new relationship with Henry who couldn't have been more happy or supportive. That truly warmed both their hearts to know that Henry was "cool" with the idea, his words not theirs.

It was late in the afternoon, Regina opted for a quick shower while Emma and Henry sat at the island discussing anything that came to one's mind.

"What's up, kid? You seem kinda sad all of a sudden." Emma frowned slightly as she sat on the chair next to her son.

The boy attempted a smile, "I'm fine." He lied.

She turned in her seat to face him fully, "Is this about a girl?"

His eyes widened, "N-n-no."

"Kid, I have a super power okay, I know when people are lying and you definitely are. Now tell me, who's this girl?"

Henry sighed defeated, "Her name's Grace, she's pretty, smart and I like her, but she likes someone else." He explained solemnly.

Emma nodded understandingly, "Listen Henry, you're young and will have the rest of your life to find the perfect girl. Hell, there is so many fish in the sea – literally!" She grinned, "You have your killer whales, feisty but beautiful, clown fish, you know like nemo, porcupine fish, those really sharp ones that are poisonous and plenty of others to choose from."

Henry laughed at his mother's sense of humour and in return Emma joined in with him. "But in all seriousness, in terms of being down about it, whenever I'm sad I just imagine a T-Rex trying to put a hat on." She snorted. The brown-haired boy couldn't help but mentally picture the image and even found himself laughing not too long after.

"What have I missed?" Regina chuckled, amused by the pair before her.

"Oh not much, just some fun national geographical facts about fishes and dinosaurs, you know, the usual." Emma spoke nonchalantly, attempting to contain her laughter.

"Yeah mom! Emma was telling me about all the other fish in the sea."

The brunette snapped her gaze towards Emma's retreating gaze, "We were just bonding over….erm…hmmm."

"Girls!" Henry finished for her.

Regina crossed her arms over her chest, "So you were giving him dating advice, Miss Swan?" She questioned.

Emma hesitated slightly, 'Sorta but not really. More like closure. Yeah." She seemed pretty happy with her answer. Before the brunette had time to reply the doorbell rang. The blonde frowned, "I didn't know we were expecting anyone." She stated confused.

"We aren't." Regina replied, just as puzzled before walking out of the kitchen and through the foyer. Emma quickly followed her to the front door, curious as to whom it could be.

When Regina opened the door to reveal an older looking blonde, Emma gasped slightly.

"Mom?"

Meagan instantly grinned with joy and pulled her daughter into a strong bear hug. Nearly squeezing the life out of the younger woman.

"Oh, Emma I have missed you so much."

Her daughter sunk into the hug a little more at the realization that she had also missed her adoptive mother whom was very much like her best friend, her pal, the one who would commentate through an entire movie at the cinemas and throw popcorn at people who dare tried to silence her.

"Me too, mom."

Meagan pulled back from her daughter and looked past to see whom she presumed was Mayor Mills. Does she want a tighter blouse? Those knockers will pop a few buttons. She snorted inwardly as Emma stepped aside to face Regina herself.

"Regina, this is my mom, Meagan. Mom this is-"

"Honey, I know who she is." She rolled her eyes playfully. "She's Mayor Mills. The one who almost threatened me on the phone if I didn't keep her little escort-hiring-to-be-my-wife secret."

Emma's eyes widened and noticeably so did Regina's. "Mom!"

"I didn't mean to be offensive or anything. I was just stating the facts." The older woman smiled at the brunette who in return forced a practiced politicians smile. She glanced left and right in front of the street and decided to continue this conversation out of the public eye, especially with a new face in town.

She cleared her throat, "Meagan, Emma, let's go inside and consider this conversation, shall we?" She offered politely.

Emma basically shoved her mother inside, "Yeah let's go!"

Regina gently closed the door behind them and took a deep breath as she watched Meagan subtlety inspect her home. The woman whistled at the expensive collection of china, among other objects that furnished the home.

"Nice home you have." She met Regina's eye. "Did daddy buy it for you?"

Emma nudged her mother, "Mom, stop." She growled.

"Actually no, I bought and furnished my home out of my own finances." Regina replied coolly.

Meagan nodded, thoroughly impressed. "Well kudos to you. Heck maybe I should become a politician and earn some real doe." She spoke thoughtlessly.

"You have the number 1 escorting service in America, I'm sure that pays well."

The older blonde tilted her head, "Yeah, it does but there's no real purpose for me." She responded with a small smile.

Emma smiled lightly, "Okay why don't we all go in the living room and talk?"

The silence in the room was deadly. It couldn't be anymore awkward for Emma, she had concluded. Her mother had shown up uninvited and was now staring down her girlfriend, which she was yet to disclose to the older woman. Regina on the other hand was delighted to partake in a staring contest with Emma's adoptive mother, her gaze never faulted under the seemingly harmless stare. Regina was situated next to Emma on the longer leather sofa with a fair amount of distance between them. While on the other side of the coffee table Meagan was perched upright on the single chair, her legs crossed elegantly over one another as though she were interviewing employees for a new job.

"Did you know Google Maps doesn't even recognise Storybook-"

"Brooke. Storybrooke." Regina retorted.

Meagan touched her chest, "My apologies. I meant to say Google Maps doesn't even know Storybrooke exists, which is…" She thought about the town for a second. "…odd."

"Well it is a small quaint town, which is how I like it."

"Each to their own I suppose." Meagan waved a hand carelessly.

It was Emma's chance to steer the conversation to a new topic, "Mom, not that I am happy to see you here, but what are you doing here? I still have two weeks left." She frowned slightly.

Meagan gave her daughter a knowing smile. "I came here to check on how my little girl is going." She paused for a moment and shifted her gaze to Regina, "And her new lover it seems." That caught both Regina and Emma off guard and neither of them could contain or even hide their surprised expressions.

Emma stumbled over her words, "What? No, me and Regina aren't-"

"Oh please, save it for someone who is as blind as a bat. It's obvious you two are more than 'business partners'" Meagan air quoted the term with her fingers. "The way that I have seen you two look at each other is the same way I look at cheesecake after a solid workout." She chuckled at the blushing pair who seemed rather disheveled from the other woman's observation.

Emma quickly glanced at Regina, and relented, "Okay maybe we are…you know, more than…" She rubbed the back of her neck, her own nerves becoming the better of her. "I mean we have…wait…ermmm. Basically, Regina, as of last night is my girlfriend." She finally finished.

Meagan's gaze averted from her daughters to Regina's, "She's quite a nervous one, isn't she? You should have seen her face when we have the birds and the bees talk when she was a teen." She grinned, chuckling in the process.

Regina couldn't help but smile as well, obviously amused. Emma's cheeks emerged into a darker shade of red as she groaned. "Mother please stop embarrassing me." She pleaded.

"Actually it was more of a bird talk than a bee talk. I mean you were kind of an all-rounder as well, you know, batting for both teams but I always knew you had a favourite."

Emma face palmed and placed her head in her hands in embarrassment while Regina simply relished in her girlfriend's humiliation. Meagan found herself laughing hysterically as she replayed the moment in her head from all those years ago.

"I'm so going to kill you." Emma mumbled under her breath, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth as she met her mother's eyes.

"I am so happy Emma that you were able to have this little reunion with your mother, I am rather enjoying myself." Regina chimed in and Meagan grinned proudly.

"I like her Emma. You should try to keep this one."

Emma raised an eyebrow, "What? Just like that?" She was making a subtle reference to her mother, which Regina was unable to understand.

The brunette frowned, "Just like what?" She said, very confused.

Meagan rolled her eyes, "Of course not, she has to pass the Meagan Swan test just like everybody else." She stated as though as it were the most obvious thing in the entire world.

"What is the…Meagan Swan test?" Regina looked at Emma who shot her mother a death glare before facing her girlfriend with a soft almost apologetic gaze.

"Basically she's going to interrogate you like you have committed murder among other felonies to make sure you are acceptable as my girlfriend." She spoke tiredly as this had happened many times before with past partners.

Meagan smirked with pride, "And no-one has ever passed my test."

Regina shot Emma a lethal expression and leaned in closer to the blonde while lowering her voice, "Are you serious? We haven't even been an official couple for 24 hours and now I have to jump through rings in some bizarre inquisition with your mother?!"

"I'm sorry I had no idea she was going to do this, let alone come here." Emma grabbed Regina's hand and covered it with her own. "Look, my mom's always been over protective and while I on the odd occasion care what she thinks I don't listen to anyone else but my own heart and what I feel." She looked sincerely at the brunette and chanced a quick glance at her mother who seemed presently content with filing her nails.

Emma lowered her voice even more, "You know how I feel about you, how I truly feel. I know you weren't fully asleep that night, I know you heard exactly how I felt about you." She whispered with a light smile. "And I really want this to work between us." She finished quietly, her voice fading at the end of her sentence.

Regina was bombarded with a plethora of emotions, she was shocked that Emma knew she had heard everything but was also warmly touched by the blonde's little rant that never failed to somehow spark long lost feelings inside of her. Regina placed her free hand over Emma's, "I have never failed a test before and I don't plan to." She smirked and ran her thumb gently over the blonde's knuckles. The two shared a look of understanding before a loud snorting sound interrupted their moment.

Meagan blew into the tissue again and dabbed her wet cheeks as she looked upon the pair in front of her. "That was so beautiful." She sniffled before blowing her nose again. "It's like The Notebook all over again." She cried, "Except you're not Rachel McAdams." She looked directly at Regina who almost rolled her eyes at the off-handed comment.

Once Meagan had recovered from her little 'cry' she had her poker face on and was ready to interrogate her daughter's lover. "So you think your perfect for my daughter, Emma?" She questioned, her pen at the ready with a note pad placed at a perfect angle on her crossed legs.

Regina let a small smirk drawl out before replying, "Most definitely."

The older blonde seemed to love the boldness of the mayor, "Well let the interrogation begin."

"With pleasure."
