Hello, oh beloved reader! Have you guys been dying for the next chapter? Well, here it is! I think I'm going to post The Avatar Rebels on Fridays, and An Avatar Christmas Carol on you don't know, An Avatar Christmas Carol is my Christmas gift to all of you guys, in which the cast of Avatar performs A Christmas Carol. Check it out if you get the chance! :)

KingRock980: I'm really glad you liked this chapter, and incase you missed it, expect these updates every Friday or so. Let me know what you think of this chapter, and thanks for reviewing so many of my chapters! :)

prettyshon10: I am so terrible to Aang. At least I'm giving him a Christmas break to take his mind off things. I am a terrible person...OH WELL! I'm sure you like it better that way. Also, wow, I can't believe you enjoy this so much that I was able to pull you out of sadness. About the AMV, I'll put what I'd like in it at the end of this chapter. P.S Penguin makes everything better.

Mz topsy turvy: Yeah, I was trying not to make the sibling conversation too corny and sappy, so I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) I have a sibling myself, so I am an expert on how that relationship works, from awkward sibling comforting, to teasing, and everything else! Thanks for the review, and bye! Oh, by the way, were you looking for the word heartwarming? Just a guess.

Fire Lord Mowse: Thanks for the compliment. I've been trying to put in less dialogue and more description. I've also been trying to avoid cheesy, cliche, (still haven't figured out how to put the little accent mark over it) corny, or any other bad thing in a story that starts with the letter C. Bye!

SoyPollitaGoto: Uh, according to Google translate, you love this fanfic, you want me to update soon, and you want Aang back with his friends? My apologies if I got anything wrong. I'm glad you're loving this so much, and thank you SO MUCH for reviewing. I can't believe I have readers of other nationalities! My mind is blown! XD

Disclaimer: I do not, have not, and will not ever own A: TLA!

Guest: Aw, thanks! I hope you like this chapter just as much! Thank you for reviewing, and I hope this story id going to be an amazing experience for you!

Story time!

Day...what was it now? Aang didn't know, and he didn't care. Time was the least of his worries at the moment. He had other things to focus on.

First of all, the torture sessions were becoming unbearable, but of course, a small part of him, the part that believed he was Azula's slave, told him that he deserved it. Aang sometime wondered if it would be better to believe he did deserve them. Then he wouldn't get angry at Azula, and he wouldn't have to deal with his inner Azula's slave feeling guilty for being angry at the psycho princess.

Second of all, Aang was fairly certain that with every day that passed, he was becoming more insane, He'd already given each of his different personalities a nickname.

There was Slave Aang, the part of him that believed he was Azula's slave. This one didn't have many beliefs. Slave Aang basically just went with whatever Azula said, not really thinking much of it. Slave Aang never questioned Azula, and would never, ever go against her.

Next was Rebel Aang, or Angsty Aang, whichever you prefer. Rebel Aang was Aang's Rebel personality. He hated all things Team Avatar, never really opened up to anyone, and was full of, well, angst. He was always excited to go on missions. Rebel Aang didn't believe in love, and highly doubted it would ever happen to him. Even almost kissing "Namika" was a spur of the moment action, maybe a crush. It certainly wasn't love, however. Rebel Aang knew that the Rebels gaining power was what mattered most.

We then have Avatar Aang. Avatar Aang was probably the most battered, broken personality, and Aang found himself slipping into Avatar Aang's frame of mind less and less. Avatar Aang was very much a pacifist, and he never killed. He was very attached to family and friends, and unlike Angsty Aang, he believed in love over power. He would gladly give up power to be with the one he loved. He was the Rebels' number one enemy, and he hated Admiral Khon, as well as Azula.

Aang didn't know which personality was the right one. All he knew was that he couldn't trust what anyone said. They could be lying to him, afterall. They might tell him to attack his friends. Aang wouldn't trust anyone.

There was another reason Aang couldn't trust anyone. He was fairly certain that Feng had betrayed him, and if he couldn't trust Feng, who could he trust? Even if Feng hadn't betrayed him, Aang was still having those unexplainable paranoid thoughts. With those paranoid thoughts circulating through his head, it was hard to believe that he wasn't about to get attacked that very second. So, Aang lived in a world where he could only trust himself. Well, maybe I can't trust myself, Aang thought miserably. As he was going insane, he couldn't trust himself, could he? Was that just the paranoia talking? Life just keeps getting confusing, Aang reflected with a sigh.

Aang was interrupted from his thoughts by the sound of footsteps approaching his cell. His whole by tensed as none other than Princess Azula entered. Her eyes were filled with spite and wickedness. To a soul as kind and gentle as Avatar Aang's, her pure love for torture was incomprehensible and gross. Then again, to Slave Aang, Azula could do no wrong. Aang once again found himself debating whether he should be angry at Azula or himself.

Azula laughed at the look the Avatar gave her. His eyes seemed to sing of how confused and lost the boy was. He looked as if he expected his own shadow to leap off the ground and strangle him. The look he sent her way would send shivers up a decent person's spine, but of course, Azula took delight in it. The Avatar had stripped Azula of her dignity, so she would strip him of his. It's only fair, Azula chuckled once more before beginning to torture her favorite prisoner.

The torture session was brutal, especially to a boy who partway believed he deserved it. That belief made every blow ten times as powerful. Azula was a big fan of the fire-whip, and since Aang's first torture session, she'd only developed more ways of using it. As Aang sat in his cell after the brutal abuse, his mind constantly drifted back to what had occurred in Azula's torture chamber.

(Cue flashback)

Aang, once more chained between pillars, awaited with baited breath as Azula approached. His heart was pounding against his chest so hard that Aang was sure it was about to break free from his rib cage. Sweat dotted covered his skin, and the slightest movement had him wanting to run for the hills.

"It's time," Azula smirked as she witnessed a shiver make its way up Aang's spine. He let at an ear-splitting screech. This is what especially pleased the princess of the Fire Nation. The Avatar was willing to show weakness in front of her. It just made it that much more evident how the boy had broken. He'd almost, if not completely, lost his dignity.

"Remember. you deserve all the pain. You're a low-life bottom-feeder. You're scum, you useless, unimportant, hated. pest. Because of all you've done, you have no loved ones. No one will think about it at all when Avatar Aang is gone for good. No one cares about you. You have no family or friends. You are hated by all," Azula leaned in her prisoner's face, her voice low and menacing. Slave Aang absorbed every word, believing it to be true.

Azula, grinning wildly, formed a fire-whip. Aang's body language revealed a terrified child facing his worst nightmare. Azula fed on the fear. She had a strong desire to make the terror grow stronger. First, she had Aang freed from the pillars. That would just allow him to get banged around more. Forming a fire-whip, she began.

Her first strike made contact with Aang's old back wound from Ba Sing Se. Aang felt like his entire body was being electrocuted all over again as the whip struck its intended target. The boy collapsed on the ground, another screech filling the air. Aang wished with all his heart that he could slip into unconsciousness, but when was he ever that lucky?

Apparently, Azula had mastered a new technique. She was able to wrap her fire-whip around Aang's leg, pick him up with it, twirl him around, and release him. Aang smashed against the wall, falling roughly against the floor yet again. Spots danced across his vision, and he was so stunned by the impact that he was unable to think for a second. Azula gave him no time to recover, immediately performing the same trick again. This time however, as he soared through the air, She shot a ball of fire straight at the Avatar's stomach, causing him to propel through the air fasted. This time, he created an indent in the wall as he collided. Aang gasped for breath as he watched Azula prepare her next attack. She sent two streams of fire at Aang. The boy, still dazed from his impact with the wall, didn't even think about attempting to dodge. The flames hit him dead on, and Aang screamed as the pain of a burning body overtook him.

(End Flashback)

Aang shuddered and quickly shook the memories away. He was barely conscious, but of course, Azula wouldn't let him faint. New burns, scars, bruises, and blood covered his already mangled body. Now however, Azula wasn't here. Aang slipped into a restless slumber. His dreams were actually nightmares. They were nightmares of everyone who he ever trusted...betraying him. Aang shuddered. When had he started to live in a world where everyone was an enemy?

The Avatar awoke to the smell of food. No. it wasn't fine dining. In fact, it wasn't even half decent. There was a stale bit of bread and a half-eaten apple. Aang sighed. Well, at least they remembered that I'm a vegetarian. At least...I think I am.

Aang ate the food, not even looking at the man who brought it to him.

Aang hadn't talked to Feng since arriving here. He couldn't bring himself to. Feng was played a huge role in Aang's lack of trust for anyone. Aang had once trusted Feng with his life, but apparently the boy was wrong. Aang had believed in Feng. He had thought that the man would help him through his pain, but when it came down to it, Feng had cared about saving his own skin rather than helping Aang. He'd rather watch the boy go insane than go through any pain himself.

Aang growled in anger. It just wasn't fair! Why did this have to happen to him of all people? While Aang wasn't sure what his old life was like, he assumed he was a good kid. At least, he wasn't an awful person. He had morals. So why did he have to be the one slowly going insane? Why did he have to sit and rot in this old prison cell? Why did he have to endure Azula's beatings?

What did I do, Aang asked himself miserably, to deserve this?

You could just…give up.

Aang craned his neck to catch sight of the source of the voice. Who had just said that?

"What do you mean?" Aang asked the voice.

I mean, give up.

"What? Give up what?"

Stop fighting, answered the voice, let whatever happens happen.

"No...I can't do that!" Aang protested.

Why not? Why should you bother staying insane? Why should you bother caring what happens to yourself?

"Because...because…" Aang struggled to think of a reason, but he was unable to.

You can't trust anyone. Are you even sure there are people out there who care what happens to you?

"Well, there's…" Aang trailed off. The voice had a point. Who cared what happened to him? Wasn't everyone an enemy? Feng didn't care, afterall.

And so, as Aang sat alone in his cell, he couldn't help but think about the words of the voice. Why should he keep fighting?

Once again, more filler. Oh well, I hope you guys enjoyed it! Please let me know what you think.

Okay, time for my AMV requirements, prettyshon10:

1. Um, how about at least 2 minutes long? I think that would be a decent amount.

2. You'll have to give me credit for the story in the description, along with the title and description. I'd also like it if you left a link for my story, but you don't have to.

3. I haven't decided on what song should be used. Any suggestions?

4. Okay, here is a little payment for agreeing to do this. If you haven't already seen it, there is an awesome Kataang AMV on youtube that uses the song "Already Over." It was made by NarutoSixth. You have got to check it out!

See you guys next chapter! :) :) :) :)
