Hello, dear reader! I hope you're all ready for another chapter of The Avatar Rebels, because here it is! :)

Jokermask18: Thanks for reviewing, and I checked out Real Connections. I haven't finished it yet, but it's actually quite good! I liked your explanations for things, like why Aang suddenly became obsessed with Tenzin's training, and why some Avatars look the way they did when they died, while others looks middle aged. Good job! :)

Avatarlover123: I hope this is soon enough, because this is about as fast as I normally update. Thanks for the review, and thank you for favoriting this story! You seem to really like my stuff, so yeah, the only word I can think to say to you is, you guessed, thanks.

KingRock980: You didn't say I was terrible. I called myself terrible. I'll try and make this chapter longer than the last one, but tell me if it still isn't long enough. Thanks for reviewing!

prettyshon10: Thanks! I don't know why, but I get some sick pleasure from writing what's going on inside Aang's head. What is wrong with me? The world may never know. Yes, I love that AMV, and it's so epic. I knew you liked the band from your profile, so I figured you'd like it. Also, it says on your profile that your best friend is on here. Do they share an account with you? If not, what's their account, so I can check them out? Bye!

Mz topsy turvy: Is poignant a good word? I WON'T REST UNTIL I FIND A WORD! Uh...sorry you had to witness that. Anyhow, thanks for the compliments, and you say you'd like it to be 2 separate stories, but not a third one? M'kay, if that's what you want! :) I was actually leaning towards that myself, but I might just make it into one. It depends on things I can not tel you. See ya!

Squek squek: Okay, here is some virtual calming tea. Take it. Trust me, you need it. :) Yes, all good things must come to an end. I felt this way when I finished Harry Potter (don't judge me if you haven't read it). Actually, to answer your question, Aang is my favorite character. I don't know why I torture him. I'm insane, probably. Thanks for reviewing, and bye!

Avatarelements03: Aw, thank you! To answer your questions, chapter 15 is coming now, yes, I based Toph's fake name off Lin. (How did no one ever notice until you?), and you'll see what Feng's going to do in this chapter. Aside from this and An Avatar Christmas Carol, I only have one-shots. Just check out my profile. Most are Avatar, except for one Harry Potter fanfic. I only do two multi-chapter fanfics at a time. Bye!

Disclaimer: No, I do not own A: TLA. If I did, Book 4 would exist.

Story time!

Two weeks later…

Feng groaned as he fell onto the bed in his room on the ferry. He was exhausted. He had to lug Aang around on his back, for the monk was too weak to move. He was in desperate need of healing, but that was not Feng's area of expertise, unfortunately, and if he took the boy to a healer, the healer would definitely see Aang's tattoos. So, Feng was in a rush to get Aang to their destination, where he could get all the attention he needed.

Aang moaned in his sleep on the other bed in the room. Feng gave the boy a very worried look. What could possibly be going on inside his head? Feng knew that it was only a matter of time before Aang cracked completely, and then there would be no hope of recovery. None.

Feng knew from experience how much brainwashing could take a turn for the worse, and that was just with two personalities inside one's head. Aang had to deal with three! How he was managing was a mystery to the Feng. Aang's was the most extreme case he had ever dealt with, and Feng knew he couldn't manage this alone. He needed help.

Thus was the reason that Feng and Aang were currently on ferry on their way to the Fire Nation, instead of Azula's hideout. Feng had decided to take Aang to the only people that he believed could help, Team Avatar. Feng believed that these were the only people that could persuade Aang to trust him. The hypnotist knew that meeting up with his old friends might just confuse Aang even more, but sometimes you just have to take a risk. Feng couldn't help the Avatar without his trust, and only Team Avatar could help with that.

Another moan escaped Aang's lips as he clutched his head. Sweat dotted the Avatar's forehead, and he was now gasping for breath. Feng winced as Aang let out a sharp cry. The boy began violently thrash around in his bed. He cried out in pain, and his tattoos glowed for a split second before returning to their usual sky blue.

Feng could here the Avatar murmuring something softly, and he leaned in to make out what.

"I…don't...know...anymore..." Aang managed to say in between his violent, heavy breathing.

Aang continued to whisper delicately, as if every word uttered caused him pain, "Please...I can't...decide…"

The monk suddenly took a long, drawn out breath, before opening his eyes gently and staring straight into the eyes of the one who had betrayed him. Aang's storm cloud gray eyes were filled with mistrust and doubt. They were also wide and scared. Poor Aang looked like a wild animal that had just encountered a human. One wrong move and he might strike.

The two were like that for several seconds, and then, Aang spoke to Feng without bitterness in his voice for the first time in a long while.

"Where are...we?" Aang still didn't trust Feng, but his curiosity had won out over his inner doubts.

Feng smiled soothingly at Aang, "We're on a ferry heading to the Fire Nation. Why don't you get some rest? You need it."

Aang protested weakly, "No...never have...good dreams…"

Feng sighed, "Then just rest."

Aang stared at Feng seconds more before finally turning over on his side and closing his eyes. He'd originally intended to just rest his eyes, but soon Feng could hear Aang's long, labored breathing. The airbender had fallen asleep. Hopefully this time he wouldn't be plagued with nightmares.

The Fire Nation princess screeched like an eagle from within the depths of her hideout.

"Where is he?! WHERE IS HE?!" She howled, and the mere volume of her voice caused many Dai-Li agents to clutch their ears.

Azula was having a bit of a tantrum at the moment. Both the Avatar and the Dai-Li hypnotist had given her the slip, and, as many knew, the princess didn't take defeat of any kind very well.

Her wild eyes narrowed into slits, she rounded on the nearest agent, grabbing him roughly.

"Where could they have possibly gone?!" She shouted into the man's face, her face only an inch from his.

"I-I don't…." the man sputtered. What could he say to appease the raging girl?

Azula viciously tossed the man to the side. He painfully impacted the ground as Azula sent blue streams of fire at anything within range. The agent quickly stumbled back to the others, who were all gaping at Azula in horror-filled shock and fear. They'd never seen her this way before. Sure, she was slipping on the day of Sozin's Comet, but she never completely lost it.

Crying out, Azula released a frustrated breath of fire into the air.

"She must've told them how to escape," she murmured to herself, though the Dai-Li could hear, "She's afraid the Avatar will help me get power. Well, she can't stop me."

"Um, who is 'she,' Princess?" asked a member of the Dai-Li. All he got in response was a glare.

"Well, Mother," Azula muttered, her eyes focused on a certain point, though nothing of interest was there, "you're wrong. The Avatar's gone mad. He can't help me," she paused thoughtfully for a second, "but I do want revenge. I'll kill him. I'll destroy the Avatar."

Azula stalked back to her room, leaving behind scared, slightly appalled Dai-Li agents.

There was a little-known island just outside of the Earth Kingdom. On this island was a large compound guarded by many Dai-Li who were, obviously, not with Azula at the moment. Shouts could be heard from within the camp, but the majority of the Dai-Li showed no signs that they heard them, as they had become accustomed to the loud noises over the time they'd spent guarding this place. Only the agents new to the island looked frightened and jumpy.

Past the large metal gate guarding the area were a various assortment of people, some locked away in cells, while others were allowed to roam the grounds freely. The cells were actually quite cozy, and an outsider looking into the building would wonder why prisoners had such nice rooms, let alone permitted to walk outside of their cells. What those outsiders wouldn't realize was that the prisoners were innocent.

Word of Aang's predicament had spread all over the world, even to the most remote places. Everyone knew what was going on, from important nobles to prisoners rotting away in cells. This island was no exception. The story of the Avatar had spread all the way to this island, and all of the prisoners had overheard the guards talking at a rapid pace about Aang. The prisoners knew nearly every detail of the story by now, as some of their guards had been involved in the brainwashing process before being reassigned here. Some of the prisoners felt terrible for the poor young monk, muttering things like, "He's too young."

Others, however, had a different opinion. They found the current state of the Avatar quite funny.

"Not even the high and mighty Avatar," one rather old lady managed to say in between chuckles, "can hold his own against The Contamination."

Eerie laughter filled the building, as many people had the same opinion.

"I wonder how long good ol' Avatar Aang'll last," a man said with a smirk and a dark look in his eyes.

"Come now," scolded one of the prisoners who felt sympathy for Aang, "he's just a boy! No one his age should have to go through The Contamination!"

"He's one hundred-twelve. I'm sure he's plenty old enough," another man joked. Quite a bit of laughter followed.

"This is not a joke," said the prisoner from before, glaring at anyone who dared to question him, "he has the body, and more importantly, the mind of a twelve year old. He doesn't stand a chance! We all know what's happened to fully grown men who are Contaminated, so I can't bare to imagine what'll happen to Aang!"

"That's right! The Avatar's doomed. He's a lost cause!" another prisoner agreed.

On and on the prisoners argued, their minds blown that the Avatar of all people had become a part of the Contaminated family.

Team Avatar was still residing at Firelord Zuko's palace, currently spitballing ideas for places where Dai-Li agents might be.

"We can't go back to the Rebel camp," said Sokka, "they'd spot us a mile away, and besides, any Dai-Li agents there wouldn't know where Aang was, 'cause they're on Khon's side."

"I think we should check out the Dai Li's old underwater hideout. There must be some of them there!" said Katara. She really just wanted to start looking for the Dai Li and finally get Aang back. She'd been eager and impatient ever since Zuko had revealed his idea to the rest of the group.

"How did we not think of that earlier?!" exclaimed an also very impatient Zuko as he jotted "underwater hideout" on his list of possible areas to check out.

"How about we ask King Kuei where the Dai-Li might be? He may have not known that they were helping out the Rebels, but he must've assigned other agents somewhere," suggested Toph, also very eager. In fact, let's just say all of Team Avatar were eager and impatient.

Outside…

One of the guards for Zuko's palace was very, very shocked, to say the least. One minute he'd been peacefully strolling outside of the palace, the next, a stumbling figure had collapsed only a few feet away. Full of uncertainty, the guard approached with his fist aimed at the figure, ready to blast fire at them if necessary.

"You, intruder! Stop right there!" he called out, but the intruder wasn't about to move after they'd collapsed.

When he got closer, the guard's face turned as white as a cloud.

The figure was actually two separate people. One of them was adorned in a Dai-Li uniform, but that wasn't what really caught the guard's attention. On the Dai-Li agent's back was a boy, but not just any boy. This boy had a bright blue arrow on his head, as well as arms and legs. There was no mistaking it. The guard knew this was Avatar Aang.

Well, he'd certainly have to tell the firelord about this.

Well? Love it? Hate it? Let me know in a review. Oh, also, for those of you who don't know, you can PM me now, if you have any questions or requests. Bye! :)
