Extra: Welcome home
"Harvey!"
"Yes, I'm coming, dear..."
"Would you stop mocking me already? We have to finish this before 6pm and look at the lock now."
"It's 11am, Mike."
"Which means we are behind schedule!"
Harvey smiled gently. He stood up and walked toward his most beloved lover who was digging a hole like his life depends on it. Harvey hugged Mike from behind and rested his chin on Mike's shoulder.
"You know, I really should sue you for abusing manual labor.", Mike laughed and kissed Harvey on his cheek.
"And I don't want to face Harvey Specter in court so here, take this and we can have a break."
As Harvey put away all the gardening tools, Mike walked back inside the house and made some lemonade.
"Lemonade? Really? C'mon, we're not that old", Harvey said when he stepped inside the kitchen but a glare from Mike and he obediently took the glass, "To our relationship!"
Harvey rose the glass toward Mike and drank it all in one gulp. Mike laugh out loud and kissed Harvey again. They played around a little bit on some jokes about lemonade until Harvey finally gave in to the heat and went in his room to change his sweaty shirt. Meanwhile, Mike settled himself on a swing in their backyard.
"You really did a fine job with the swing", Mike complemented when he saw Harvey sat down next to him
"Yeah...How long is it now? Three years?", Harvey asked
"What do you mean?"
"Since we first bought the house."
"Two and seven months."
"Who would have though I will be married before Donna?"
"To be exact, who would have thought you guys will be married at all?"
"Hey!" Harvey playfully grabbed Mike's hand and kissed on his ring, "Look who is speaking?"
They both suddenly felt into silence.
One month after Harvey proposed to Mike, they move in together. After another three years and the death of their first dog, they decided to move into this house. A nice 3-bedroom house with a garden, away from the battlefield named New York. Jessica had retired and was enjoying her summer house in Costa Rica. Harvey took her place for a year but he decided to go independent and with the help of Donna, Mike and Rachel, their new-born company didn't have many obstacles in the way and soon climbed to the top. Donna was married and ready for her first born so she was too happy to worry about her idiotic couple all the time (she still visited every other month to make sure Mike hadn't blow up the kitchen, or the house, yet). Rachel decided to focus on her study and Mike often teased her that she was trying to be the second Donna when Harvey seemed to be terrified by that idea.
"Okay...I guess I'll get going now. Can you finish the garden by yourself?", Harvey looked at his watch and stood up
"Yeah...", Mike looked around reluctantly, "Harvey... Do you thinks she will like it?"
Harvey spotted the fear in his husband's eyes. The fear that made a man questions his decision and even himself. He hadn't seen this fear in Mike's eyes for such a long time, since the rainy day he walked back to Mike's apartment from Cameron's place.
"She will love it", Harvey bent down and kissed his lover, "They said lilies are her favorite, right?"
"And playing with the swing", Mike said with confident
'And playing with the swing.", Harvey repeated with a smile, "I will be back before dinner."
They exchanged one last kiss before Harvey walked to the car and took off. Mike sat on the swing for a few more minutes to calm himself but his phone seemed to have a different plan.
"Hey", Mike picked up
"How's it so far? Did Harvey leave? Are you guys finish with the garden?"
"Slow down, Donna. Yes, Harvey already left and no, I'm trying to finish the garden right now."
"Do you need help?"
"If I say yes, will you magically appear here and help me?"
"No, but I'll call Rachel and her boyfriend, who as I told you many time, is an expert in gardening."
"A self-taught expert, like Harvey and I. And do you want to kill me? Rachel has a test tomorrow morning. Even her own mother cannot call her right now."
They both laughed.
"I have to go now but...good luck, and congratulation.", Donna said softly
"Worry about your own baby Donna. Everything is fine. Oh, and don't forget to come here next weekend okay? We really want her to see you. Okay. Bye"
Mike hung up and looked at the sky. A blue sky without any clouds.
"Yeah", he said to himself, "Everything is just fine."
Hi guys, it's been awhile.
At first I was planning to write about how they move in together but somehow, the story ends up like this. Hope you guys like it. (and yes, this is in honor that New York is one of the state legalizes homosexual marriage! Go for it, Harvey!)
Anyway, I knew that I had written the first part of the story how Harvey and Mike became a couple but after some thinking, I decided to let you guy imagine it. If you guys like my style, please come back for more in the future, I have a few ideas in my mind right now and would love to show it to you guys (though I don't have any specific couples or series in my mind now so if you have one, just message me)
Have a great day!
Love,
KR
