An Update!

Hope you guys like it.

not as long as I normally make them,
But I think it does enough for now.

Jack, Miko, and Raf were beginning to worry. School was out long ago, and the bots had yet to pick them up. Normally, the bots would be there before hand already but now they were half an hour late. "Wonder what's keeping them?" Jack asked aloud. "Maybe a strife with the Decepticons?" Raf suggested as he typed away at his laptop.

"Maybe Bulk's dishing out some smack on those dirty cons?" Miko said as she pounded her fist into her palm for a visual. "But Ratchet would have called us. Something's wrong." Jack added as he looked at his phone again. No texts from Arcee, no calls from Ratchet, what was going on?

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, Jack spotted the familiar color scheme of Bumblebee driving towards them. Gaining the attention of his friends, Jack pointed to where Bee was and the three started to walk over to him. "What's up Bumblebee?" Raf asked as he walked over to the back seat. Giving off a few buzz and beeps, Bumblebee answered the small human.

"Um, earth to Raf, Care to translate?" Miko asked as she took the passenger's seat while Jack took the drivers. "He said something big happened at base, and that we should be prepared when we get there." Raf said, kind of worried that Bee wasn't telling him everything like he normally did. "That's real helpful." Jack said as Bee Started driving off.

The whole trip to base was silent. Bumblebee normally played music for his passengers but not this time. The radio was off, he said nothing, and it gave the humans a bad feeling. "Whatever the problem is must be bad." Miko whispered to Raf who nodded. "How bad is it Bee, scale of one to ten?" Jack asked. Giving off ten clicks, Bumblebee answered in a sad tone.

"Right… that bad I guess." Jack answered as they finally reached the base and drove in. Surprisingly, no one was to be seen. The main room was empty of everything and everyone. Only the computers were on, but they looked to be left on by accident. "Where is everyone?" Raf asked as the three humans got out and Bee Transformed.

Pointing to the med-bay, the humans followed Bumblebee there to find everyone standing in a complete circle around a table. "I brought the kids." Bee spoke out and it made Bulkhead and Arcee turned to look at their partners. "Sorry about not picking you up Miko, but…" Bulkhead started but couldn't find the words to finish.

"We had a set back here at base." Arcee answered for him. "What kind of set back?" Jack asked. "The kind where even I cannot explain it." Ratchet stated as he stepped back away from the table. "What's with you Doc bot?" Miko asked.

"What is up, Miko, is this." Ratchet said as he and everyone else stepped back enough to show what was on the table. Sitting on the table, giggling away was Luna, but… something was off about her. Her hair looked longer, her arms and legs as well, her face looked less rounded and more well defined in shape, and her servos and digits were larger. Her optics also glowed brighter then when the children first met her, and they seemed to flux with vibrancy.

"She… she looks… different." Miko said as she Jack, and Raf walked over to the group. Luna was busy playing with Optimus' servo as of now, so she didn't see the humans. Optimus was also busy occupying the sparkling, but his expression was one of confusion and concern. "How'd this happen?" Jack asked.

"We don't know." Optimus finally said he picked up Luna and held her close. "What do you mean you don't know?" Miko asked, a bit more confused now than ever. "Just that, we do not have a clue as to how she grew so quickly." Ratchet said as he scanned over Luna again, annoying her as it blinded her.

"Don't your kind grow kind of fast anyway?" Raf asked. "I mean, you guys are big to begin with." Shaking his helm, Optimus ran his servo through Luna's hair. "True we grow faster than human children do, but we have a rate of which we age."

"And going from Sparkling to pre-youngling in one night is not normal rate." Ratchet said as he read over his scans. "Nothing is coming up. The only thing I can find is that her Energon levels are a bit higher than normal." Staring up at the little Cybertronian, Jack saw that Luna was looking down at him and waving. Waving back, Jack thought of something.

"What stages are there for you guys? You know, from baby to adult?"

"We start off as sparklings from the Well," Ratchet began. "Then we go into pre-youngling, like Luna here, then youngling. After that is mechling or femmeling for Luna's case, and last we have just plane adult mechs and femmes." At hearing this, everyone looked at Luna as she fiddled around with Optimus' digits.

"So, if you guys can't figure out is causing this," Jack started. "Luna could just keep ageing." Raf added. "And ageing again and again." Miko added as well. "To the point where she is nothing but rust." Ratchet said finally, and even in his hurting spark he knew that this was wrong.

"We will find a way to stop this," Optimus finally spoke. "But until then, we will treat Luna like nothing is wrong. We do not need to scare her." Running his servo over her hair again, Optimus smiled at how Luna giggled happily.

"I will get started on finding out what is causing this." Ratchet said as he quickly walked out of the room and to the computers. Leaving the others alone, the group didn't know what to do now. "How did you guys find out about this?" Raf asked "She was with me when it happened." Bee said.

"Then tell us." Arcee spoke out and Bumblebee nodded. "Optimus had just asked me to take Luna for a bit. So we were in my room…"

A Couple of Hours Ago

As Bee and Luna walked down the hall to his room, the sparkling and yellow mech were giggling all the while. "You sure are playful aren't you?" Bee said as they entered his room. It was a moderate sized room. A berth sat off to the side, a table with data pads on it, and a computer that Ratchet had modified to be able to play earth video games. Walking over to the computer, Bee set Luna down on the floor before he sat next to her. "Ratchet made this for me so I don't have to bug him in the main room while I play games. Raf lets me borrow a lot of his, some I bet you would like."

Picking up one of the giant sized game controllers, again made by Ratchet, Bee gave it to Luna. "This is a controller, you use it to control your games. How about we play a racing game? That sounds easy for you." Bee said as he chose the game and started it up. It was a medium grade game, simple racing against others and time.

As the race began, Luna at first didn't understand what was going on but after a second or two of watch Bee play she gave the controller a good whack. Seeing that her actions made her car veer off the road, Luna giggled and pounded on the controller again. Giggling more and more, Luna soon caught up to Bumblebee's car.

"Whoa, who would have guessed you be a gifted driver and gamer?" Bee said as he tried to win the race but just as he was about to, Luna spun out ahead of him and won. Shocked and surprised that he had lost to a sparkling, Bee looked down to see that Luna had only tossed her controller on the ground and it had hit the gas button at the last second.

"I cannot believe that I lost to a sparkling." Said but something caught his optics. While Luna giggled happily, her hair was starting to glow. Now, odd enough that she had hair, Bee was kind of confused as to why it was glowing. "Luna, you okay?" Bee asked but Luna only continued to giggle more and more and as she did her hair glowed brighter.

Bumblebee was now starting to worry, thinking he should go get Optimus he stopped when he saw sparks coming out from Luna's servo. "What in the Pit is going on?" Bee said but the next thing he knew was that Luna's hair became too bright to look at and her servos let loose a stream of electric bolts all over his room.

Soon, the lights went out and so did the computer. All sources of light were gone, aside from Bee's optics. "Luna?" Bee called but he did not hear her. "Luna where are you?" Bee said as he reached out his servo for the sparkling but pulled it back quickly when a feral growl was heard.

Pulling his servo back, Bee must have knocked something over cause a loud crash was heard. Soon a pair of yellow optics appeared and zipped across Bumblebee's room. "Stupid mini-con." Bee cursed as he reached his servo out again for Luna.

"BeeBee!" a voice cried out and it shocked Bumblebee. Next came a pair of bright colored blue optics, they were Luna's since they looked almost like Human eyes. "L-Luna?" Bee spoke out and again the new voice spoke. "BeeBee!"

"… Oh Scrap."

Present time

Slapping her servo into Bee's helm, Arcee glared at him with a fierce anger. "Ow! What was that for?!" Bee asked as he rubbed his sore helm. "You cursed in front of her? Really Bee?!" Arcee yelled. "What else was I supposed to say? Oh well then, looks like she can talk and she's drastically grown?!" Bee shouted but when Optimus gave them a look they quieted down.

"Is that all that happened Bumblebee?" Optimus asked. "Pretty much." The scout nodded. "So she said something to you? She hasn't said a word while in here." Bulkhead said and he was right. Aside from the giggles, Luna had not said anything. "See if she will." Miko said, a bit excited to hear Luna say something.

Staring at Luna, everyone thought about it and decided it wouldn't hurt to try. "Come on Luna, say something. Anything at all." Arcee said as tickled the little femme. But only giggles came. "Let me try." Bulkhead said as he stepped in front of Luna. "Come on kid, I know your smart. Try saying Bulk, can you do that for me?"

Staring at the mech with a confused look in her optics, Luna just tilted her helm at him with no answer. "Well it was worth the shot." Bulkhead said as he turned to move but was stopped when they all heard something. "Bulk! Bulk!"

Turning back at Luna, Bulkhead saw the little femme reaching out to him with a thick smile. "Ata girl!" Bulkhead said as formed his servo into a fist and gave Luna a soft fist bump. "How about Optimus? Can she say his name?" Jack asked and everyone turned to the Prime to see him a bit shocked by the question.

"Let's give it a try." Arcee said. "Can you say Optimus, Luna? Give it a try." Turning to look up at the mech holding her, Luna smiled softly before she gave Optimus a hug. "Optimus."

Everyone was shocked to hear her say his name fully but it did make them smile. "I guess we'll have to start teaching her to say complete sentences." Bee said as he patted Luna on her helm.

"I guess we will." Optimus said as he smiled down at Luna who was still hugging him.

OoOoOoOoOo

Ratchet was busy at the computers. Trying to figure out what was going on with Luna, but also to keep his distance from said pre-youngling. Something about Luna was uneasy to him and he didn't want to deluge his mind with thoughts why. So working on what had caused this sudden growth would do enough to keep him busy.

But what about after he did find out? What would he do then when he had nothing else to work on? He didn't know if he could keep his emotions in check around the small femme, what if he snapped out something he shouldn't? Or worse, what if he hurt the ones around him?

Pushing these thoughts deep into his mind, Ratchet nearly shouted out in surprise at what he heard next. "Rat!" Looking behind him, Ratchet found Optimus holding Luna with the others coming up behind him. The others were trying very hard not to laugh at what Luna had called the medic… well unless you were Miko that is. At hearing the word rat come from Luna, Miko soon fell to the floor laughing loudly. "She called you Rat!" she hollered "I can't believe she called you Rat!"

Trying his best to ignore the human, Ratchet turned to Optimus with a cold stare. "I see she also is speaking." Ratchet said and Optimus nodded. "Her aging is far faster than we first thought." The Prime said and Luna smiled happily as the two talked.

"I see." Ratchet said as he turned back to the computers. "I will also look into that after I find out why she is aging exponentially." Seeing that he wasn't going to say anything else, Optimus turned to his other Autobots. "Would you all mind watching Luna for a bit? I have patrol now."

"I don't mind, but leave her with Bee. Leaving Luna with him makes her age faster." Bulkhead said, teasing the yellow and black mech. "Like I am the cause of her aging?" Bee asked. "Who knows." Arcee added. "You could be. Maybe being near us at a certain point causes her to grow."

Nodding his helm at the idea, Optimus handed Luna off to Bulkhead since he was the closest. "I will be back shortly. Contact me if anything else happens." Optimus said as he walked over to the exit and quickly transformed and drove out. "Optimus?" Luna said sadly as she watched the Prime disappear.

"So now what?" Jack asked, and that quickly caught the attention of Luna. Reaching her servo out to him and the other two humans, Luna groaned out as she wanted to be let down. "Do you think it's safe for Luna to be around the kids?" Bulk asked but all he got was a shrug from Bee and a tilt of the helm from Arcee.

"Just put her down." Raf said. "If anything happens you guys can intervene." Figuring that they could do that, Bulkhead placed Luna down on the floor and watched as she quickly crawled over to the humans. Laying down on her stomach plating, Luna stared at the humans with an interest showing in her optics.

"So… now what?" Miko asked. "I have an idea." Arcee said as she walked over to a table and picked up a data pad and stylist pen. "I remember when I was little I always loved to draw. Why don't you guys share this." Placing the data pad in front of the children and giving Luna the pen, Arcee watched as the little femme quickly began to draw.

Running his hands over the screen, Raf smiled as it drew a line. "Cool." Raf said as he crawled on the data pad and every step he took left a imprint on the page. "Sweet! I got to try this." Miko said as she also got on the data pad and began to slide her shoes all over it. Joining in with his friends, Jack began to walk around in a circle till a circle formed on the screen.

Seeing how much fun the tiny humans were having, Luna pressed the pen to the screen and began to doodle on it. Going around the humans when she came around their areas, Luna began to draw a image that no one knew what it was but her.

Seeing that Luna and the humans were occupied for the time being, the bots turned to look at Ratchet. He was working away, like he had been for the past few months, but this was different. He was avoiding everyone, trying not to bring up the fact that he was hurting but it was obvious to everyone.

This… this wasn't their Ratchet anymore. This Ratchet was hurt, broken, and unfixable by their terms. The pain they all felt they knew he did too but only more. Ratchet would probably never be the same again, but maybe if they all worked together the pain they felt could be mended enough.

But they knew the pain would always be there.

No matter how much time passed.

Like I said,
