Before we start, there are some things that you should know.
1) OMG! Did you see the new cover? I made it myself :) Tell me what you think about it, okay? Because I'm excited about it :)
2)I had written a totally different chapter 13 (with light on Spencer) and I was going to post it. It was nice, I think but just as I was about to upload I thought some thing else was needed. I got these ideas and I sat down and wrote. My eyes are itching and my back is paining and anyway, so I'll post the Spencer chapter next and here is the Chapter 13, in all its thirteen-ness-
Chapter 13
Keira slammed her wine glass on the table, "Geoffrey, I wonder at your inability to find Hiwatari. He's not exactly inconspicuous."
"Keira, my dear," Geoffrey smiled, leaning forward, cigarette smell wafting from his mouth, "I suggest you do not wonder at my inability. I demand little payment for the job you ask of me. It is difficult to find the man because he has covered his tracks too well."
"You are lying," Keira gritted her teeth. "You are working on another job!"
Geoffrey looked hard at Keira and asked in his smooth, accented voice, "How do you come to know of things nobody is supposed to know?"
"I have my ways."
"Then, maybe you should know that I don't do jobs anymore," Geoffrey's face was hard and a dangerous glint was in his eyes.
Keira laughed and picked up her wine glass, "You expect me to believe that? Actually, don't answer that. I don't care. I want Hiwatari and his pathetic wife. Find them." She swallowed the wine and walked away.
Geoffrey stared after her, "You should believe. Though it wouldn't matter in some time. You will be one of the first, I hope."
Geoffrey was walking out of a helicopter two hours later. A phone call informing him of Kai's potential location had alerted him. There was no need to do the job or take such pains but he missed the feel of the 'jobs' and this one seemed like his last before he retired. Besides, there was the payment enticing him whenever he felt himself slacking.
He was led by a car to one of the houses beside the bazaar (marketplace). He would never be able to find the house again. The houses were so many and made into a maze-like pattern, perfect for a man like Olho Roxo.
Inside the house it was refreshingly cool. Geoffrey was led to the basement. Compared to the simplicity of the houses, the basement was a total surprise to first time visitors. There was a split AC, LED TV, gadgets and a glass case full of weapons including guns. A music system blasted what sounded like Kanye West to Geoffrey. On a western couch sat the man known as Olho Roxo.
Roxo had only one eye. He had lost the other eye when one of his snakes had bit him. There were fang marks on his eyebrow and his upper cheek. The eye that had been lost had been replaced by purplish-black marble. The choice had been his after he had ripped apart the poisoned orb.
Roxo was many things-murderer, drug dealer, assassin, snake charmer and pickpocket. He had a string of orphan boys whom he had picked off the streets and trained them mostly as snake-charmers and pickpockets.
"Mr. Graf," the man spoke. His voice was thick with accent. Geoffrey nodded, "You said you had news?"
"One of our boys, a pesky rat called Carlos, stole a man's wallet," Roxo said, handing out a wallet to Geoffrey.
Geoffrey opened the wallet. It had Kai's driving license, ATM card, credit cards and some money.
Roxo continued, "Like all the boys I train, he submitted it to the daily supervisor who was on the lookout for your Hiwatari man."
"Have you asked Carlos where Kai can be found?"
"I was waiting for you to come."
"Call him"
Carlos arrived, shiffling his bare feet. He looked scared, very scared. He had heard stories about the boss and none of them were happy ones.
"Carlos," Roxo eyed him. Carlos trembled. "Tell us where do we find the man from whom you stole this wallet?"
Carlos mumbled something.
"Speak up!"
Carlos looked up, fear in his eyes, "You want to kill him?"
Roxo began to laugh. Geoffrey was getting impatient, "Just tell us, boy."
"I know you want to kill. He good man. Won't tell you where he is."
Roxo picked up his walking stick and asked, "One last time-where is the man?"
"I-I...don't know."
"Well, how about you tell Bella about him?" Roxo tapped his stick and Carlos watched in fear as a snake slithered out of one end of the stick. Thin and small, Carlos knew what it was.
"No, please, stop." The snake was dangerously close to him now. "I will tell you all."
"Bella..." The snake stopped as if in response to the command.
Carlos began to cry.
"Bella is impatient," Roxo smiled.
Carlos whimpered, "The man...I saw him. With broom, digging hole in forest. Side by the digging place."
"He looked like this," Geoffrey showed Kai's photo.
Carlos nodded, "Don't kill him. He good man."
Roxo shushed, "Little Carlos. You should worry about yourself not the good man." Carlos rushed to the door but it was locked. The faint slither behind him made him turn around.
"Bella and me don't like conscience in my people," Roxo informed him. The snake jumped towards Carlos' neck. The pain was electric. His vision filled with black dots and his body jolted. He fell to the ground cluthing his neck, calling for help.
Geoffrey asked, coolly, "I trust you have someone who can go and make enquiries. Someone who can report to me and get the job done."
"I have the very girl. She's one of a kind," Roxo replied sitting down on his couch as Adele started singing through the music system.
"Well, this was fun. I will see you," Geoffrey nodded before walking over Carlos' twitching body. Roxo pressed a button hidden in his couch and the door opened. Geoffrey and his escort exitted the building two minutes later. Ten minutes later he was airborne.
Roxo sat in his room, drinking tea. As Michael Jackson's voice ended, he screamed, "You *****, clean up the mess."
I'm sorry. This was horrible. I'm crying. I think I am depressed now. Odd I was happy an hour ago.

I will post the next chapter ASAP most probably in the next two days. That brings me to another problem. Lately, reviews are getting lesser and lesser. I know, everybody has problems and time issues but please guys, your reviews make my day...actually, my whole week and really when a writer hears someone tell them stuff about their writing that really helps. It not just encourages and inspires, it makes writing so much easier and better. So, please, DO REVIEW! :* What you guys think means a lot to me!
Thanks to my awesome reviewers: Susan Styles and Guest (who is Susan and reviewed MM1) X lots-of-times, Rangerapprentice, Gingercookiessnaps, Guest (who is Pure White Mochi, SMRA ( Hi! :) Thank you sooo much. I am overwhelmed by your good opinion and support. Yes, I think those scowls were pretty much what he was doing. Its difficult to make Kai funny/comic so yay! Looks like it worked. Ya, I think I like doing comedy stories, etc. even though this chapter throws cold water over everything...You remember! I must say that's awesome of you. You should try the event. I am sure, sure you will be amazing. RR!)
C'MON! The deadline is getting closer and closer. Has anybody started on the spin-off? Please do take part! I would love to read your spin-offs :) :) :) Please, please do try!
I wrote this chapter on my awful College laptop so I'm sure lots of errors. Forgive me! The wrong grammar in the speech of locals (Roxo and Carlos) is intentional, of course!
See ya!
