Okhotny Ryad

I know it's been a while since I've actually posted a new chapter on this story so I thought I better get in gear and post my latest chapter so here it is for your viewing pleasure, I hope you enjoy it but anyways I'll let it speak for itself so as always I don't own Metro but I do own Spartak and Svetlana.

As Andrew came further into the room he kept looking at Svetlana and I, in a strange way. "I know your faces," He said as he drew in closer to me and her. As I looked strangely back at him as he circled towards us and I took a drop step back into a more defensive position. Andrew stopped circling us and stood directly infront of me, "You have your mother's eyes," He told me and then he looked Svetlana straight in the face, "you have your father's looks to you, and your mother's spirit," He told her as he turned and looked at Khan.

"Can you help us Andrei?" Khan asked as he pulled out a half full bottle of vodka and a small tin. Andrei took the tin and the bottle which he then unscrewed and took a deep whiff of and then opened the tin and smelt that too.

"Trava?" Andrew asked Khan.

"Da, it is the best from Stosse Entuziastov," Khan told him as he stood in the centre of the room.

"I have no need for spirits and trava, Khan, why should I help you?" Andrew then asked him, as he pulled out a small bottle of brown liquid.

"Because I could scout out new tunnels for the refugees to use," Khan told him frantically, I really did feel like we weren't going to get out of this situation. As Andrei poured himself a glass of the brown liquid which as soon as it touched the air blow out the smell of alcohol more exact it was methylated alcohol. When he took a sip he looked at me and then at Khan and nodded, the two men then burst out laughing.

"What is going on?" I asked as I looked at the two of them in confusion.

"It's a game Khan and I like to play, we don't make eachother's lives easy, do we?" Andrei asked Khan.

"Yes, we do my friend," He replied as Andrei pulled out a small plastic box which had some type of fruit cake in it.

"Do you children want some tort?" Andrei asked me as I Khan ked us into the dining area of Andrei's house where he had an old garden table with four different chairs.

"Da, pozhaluysta," Svetlana and I both told him. So he cut a piece of the cake off for each of us and then we sat down at the table along with Khan and Andrei. As the two men started to talk I zoned out and just picked at the solid fruit cake, as I pulled the raisins and nuts out, I then ate them slowly.

As the two men chattered over Svetlana and I's heads about how they had rescued so many from the Red line as if it was meant to impress us but as I sat there I just wanted to get back to how things were in Novokuznetskaya with my mother and a normal life, we both looked at each other I looked deep into Svetlana's eyes she seemed more weary now the men were actually talking than when we thought we were going to be fed to the Reds but as the two men crashed around on the table I spotted Khan raise his hand as if to tell us to get up. I didn't even think I just followed his action and stood up, Svetlana reluctantly followed. Andrei led us out to the back of his house where there was a large old looking rug on the floor.

"The Reds are shutting more and more tunnels," He told Khan as he lifted the rug up and unveiled a trap door, he then opened the door and Khan lowered Svetlana and I into it with a small rechargeable flashlight, he then jumped down after us, "Be careful my friend," Andrei told him as he shut the door on us. I then turned on the flashlight, and a cone of white light flew down the jagged dug tunnel obviously it had been built in a hurry by the most primitive of measures a shovel and hard work.

"Where are we going now Khan?" Svetlana asked as she clung onto Khan left arm as tightly as she could.

"Spartak, pass me the flashlight," Khan asked me as he held out his arm, I passed the flashlight to him and he pointed it down the tunnel. Moved in closer to Khan and walked practically side by side with him. Svetlana still kept next to him as I did but as we moved down the very dark tunnel I heard a screeching like nails on a chalk board. As we got closer to the screeching I realised it was something dragging along the tracks, I moved behind Khan as he jumped down onto the Sokolnicheskaya Line.

As I looked down at him, he raised his Kiparis and then scanned the area, Children come down here now! We have to move fast!" He told us as we both leapt down onto the tracks and tried to stay in his foot prints but as I kept trying to move faster I could hear Svetlana panting and eventually I heard her hit the floor, I turned and spotted a set of lights moving along the tracks towards us I tried to get to Svetlana but I couldn't so I turned towards Khan who was still in full sprint down the tunnel.

"Khan!" I shouted forward as the screeching came closer and closer but as I shouted the tunnel fell into absolute silence. Like my voice had scarred off whatever evil was happening or like whatever was happening was just testing us waiting for us to make our next move like we were the elaborate prey in its twisted game of cat and mouse, only we were the mouse in a maze and the cat had a birds eye view.

As Khan turned around I could see his face was moulded by fear, "Come we have to move now!" He told us as we scuttled forward, we eventually reached the gate to Okhotny Ryad and Khan banged on the door as hard as he could but nothing happened, just the dull sound of his hand smashing into the door echoed down the tunnel, so he squatted down and tried to pull the door up but as he tried the door didn't budge, his forehead poured with sweat as he put all his effort into shifting the door but as the veins in his forehead bulged he decided that he could lift no more. He raised his Kiparis again and fired at the hydraulic tubes above the door, keeping the steel mass firmly in place. As the tubes were severed the purple hydraulic fluid spewed everywhere, Khan then dropped his Kiparis and lifted the door up opening the entrance to Okhotny Ryad. As soon as I could see light I felt Khan pushing Svetlana and I inside.

As I fell inside I felt my fall become cushioned by something soft, I looked down to see deep green grass and flowers everywhere like we were in a meadow but as I moved to look around I could see Khan frantically moving around like he was in scared but I could see nothing wrong, there were butterflied and sunshine nothing felt wrong at all. The warm air felt crisp in my lungs and the sun beamed onto my skin, I had never actually in a meadow before. I continued to scan the scene and I saw Svetlana lying on the floor enjoying the sun too, I felt compelled to join her so I laid down next to her my head touching hers. As we laid there I could feel myself falling asleep like I was able to relax for the first time, as my eyes began to feel heavy I could hear the sound of my mother's voice comforting me as I feel deeper and deeper into a slumber.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter I will try and keep updating as fast as I can . But until the next chapter feel free to post a review and tell me what you thought but anyways until the next one … PEACE!
