I know, its been slightly longer than my usual update period but here's the new chapter and hopefully y'all will like it. I know that most of you are really sweet and are okay with waiting a bit (that's what I love about you guys, you all are so understanding) but I would still like to apologise.
IMPORTANT : Oh well, not really! I was thinking I should just talk to you about Giselle. I hear a lot about her from you guys...at least recently and I'm surprised by how differently and diversely her character appears and develops. I'm happy that you people share what you feel about different characters. I don't want to give away anything but all I would ask (hint) is that you all should maybe look not too closely at her but step back and take a look. *Zak wiggles eyebrows and thinks she's being philosophical* Of course, there are other girls- Diana-I think you all know her very well and I'm really grateful that you treat her as a real person. I can totally depend on you all for trusting her and seriously speaking she trusts you too, Jennifer- She's quite easy and I hope to bring you a JenBry centric chapter soon. It'll be good, I promise, Hina- Ah she's our disbalanced equation, right? She has more parts in the future and I'm sure you'll enjoy her scenes, Helen- she's another character that now you see and now you don't but I assure you more to come. I do drop hints now and then about these two so keep the characters are important and I'll do my best to make everything worthwhile. Okay, I don't know why I said all that. Ignore me, I'm ill! Lol, no don't ignore me. I'm ill and I need people to cheer me. I should shut up now-
Chapter 23
Diana was in a bad mood. There is something truly contagious about negativity and tonight Diana had seen a lot of it. After Ian and Giselle had had a face-off at the restaurant, Diana had accompanied Giselle to Giselle's house where Giselle had let go of her tears finally.
It had not been as an easy task to sympathise her. What could she say to lessen Giselle's pain? Diana couldn't help feeling that somewhere it was her fault. She couldn't have anticipated it but she realised how wrong their matchmaking game could turn out. They were just forcing two people to like each other without realising the consequences. Since when did their game become a source of heartbreak? She had not wanted this for anyone. Maybe it was time they gave up playing with love.
After seeing that Giselle was a bit better which was sometime after one in the night, Diana had stepped outside Giselle's house only to find that Kai was nowhere in sight. She had asked Spencer to tell Kai to pick her up before going home but it looked like Kai wasn't turning up. Waiting in the veranda of Giselle's apartment, Diana couldn't help remember another time when she had waited for Kai but Kai hadn't turned up.
Diana sighed and decided to take a taxi home.
She reached her suite and the post-it note stuck on the fridge with Jen's handwriting saying "We are going to win! :D" disgusted her. She opened her bedroom door softly not wanting to wake Kai even if he did leave her behind.
The light was off but the moon light fell on her empty bed and Diana realised that Kai had not returned either. Diana pursed her lips and tried to breathe calmly. There would be a very simple explanation for this. But now it was two nights that Kai had disappeared.
Was there a problem? Had something happened? What if something had happened to Kai? What if he was still waiting for her? There were so many what ifs that Diana would have gone crazy wondering about Kai.
She walked out of the room for the sake of doing something and checked that Hina and Jennifer were fast asleep. There was a light in the other suite and Diana heaved a sigh. Maybe it was Kai?
As usual the suite wasn't locked but everything was clouded in the dark. The light she had seen was a candle on the dining table. Diana looked around but there was no one. Sighing, she sat down and watched the flame flicker and was about to chide herself for over-reacting when a fist slammed on the table.
Diana jumped back, "God! Ian, you scared me!"
Ian swayed slightly and pointed an unsteady hand towards Diana.
Diana helped him sit down and poured him a glass of water.
Ian pushed the glass away and asked, "Why did you marry him?"
"You're drunk?"
Ian glared, "Why did you marry Kai?"
There was something about Ian or maybe it was the way the shadows played in the dark room that scared Diana and made her walk away, uneasily.
Ian clutched at Diana's wrist, "You answer me or-"
Diana winced at the strength with which Ian held her wrist, "Ian, you're drunk. Leave me or I'll scream and Kai will come and bash you!"
Ian let go and Diana fell against the table. She stifled a cry as her arm caught the end of the table. When she stood up, Ian was holding a knife to his throat.
I told you, I am feverish!
But you should totally tell me what you felt about this chapter. I'll be waiting :D
