Chapter 28

"What the hell is happening between our perfect couple?" Jennifer asked as soon as Hina had closed the door.

Diana looked from Jennifer to Hina and shrugged, looking away.

"Okay, let me phrase it better," Jennifer said. "You and Kai aren't talking to each other and it doesn't look like a lover's tiff to me. God, you people never have a lover's tiff. So, what is it?"

"Ian told me Kai wants to divorce me," Diana finally said and sat on the bed. She buried her face in her hands and sobbed.

"What!?" the other two exclaimed.

Diana raised her face and wiped her eyes, "Its okay. I'm not devastated or anything."

Jennifer laid her hand on Diana's shoulder, "Of course you would be devastated. You know what? If it comes to that, I suggest you divorce him first."

Hina spoke up, "Uh, Jennifer, calm down. And, Diana, I know I don't really know you all well enough but I don't think what you say is possible. Kai loves you. Its evident in the way he looks at you. I don't understand why you two would fight over such a thing. Have you asked him?"

Diana shook her head, "No, I don't want to. If he doesn't want to talk about it I'm not going to make it easy for him. He never talks about the important things in life."

"Well," Jennifer said, "that's Kai for you."

"Look, I know Kai has always had communication issues but lately he's been driving me crazy. He comes home later than three a.m. and tries to hide it from me. When I do ask him finally he says that he doesn't trust me. Can you believe that? He doesn't trust me."

"Wait, wait," Jennifer stopped, "he has been coming home late?"

"I have noticed twice at least," Diana replied. "The first time I thought he was just busy with something at the site but the second time I nearly went mad with worry. He didn't return from the restaurant and you all went to sleep. I was so worried and then he came back coolly without a care in the world. And he told me not to be 'such a wife to him'!"

"What was he doing, out so late?" Hina asked.

"I don't know. Probably drinking somewhere with Tala," Diana mused. "Though he didn't seem drunk to me."

Jennifer took a deep breath, "Do you think Kai is cheating on you?" When Diana looked shocked, Jennifer continued, "I mean, what if Kai and Tala go out to meet some girls? They are Ian's friends after all. That's it! I am so going to ask Kai what he has been doing."

Hina waited for Diana to say something and when she didn't, Hina asked, "Do you think Tala has a girlfriend?"

Diana frowned and then smiled, "You like him?"

Hina blushed, "No, not at all."

"Well, if you do or even if you don't, I should tell you that I do not believe, however colourful it might be, Jennifer's little hypothesis. She is a writer and she's best at what she does and that is to sensationalize."

Hina chuckled, "Yeah, I don't too. And I don't know."

"Don't know what?"

"Whether I like Tala or not. He's so tempestuous. One minute, he's amazing and the next he is awful."

Diana nodded, "That does say a lot about his feelings. Usually he's just awful."

Hina laughed, "He's-"

"Hina, can I talk to Diana for a second?" Kai glared as he entered the room.

Hina sidled out.

Diana stood up and raised her eyebrows in question.

"You said I have communication problems?" he asked.

In my mind the next chapter is so well planned. Another Kai-Diana face-off and a better one this time.

As Superkami had predicted, a girls-talk did take place and I hope you all enjoyed it. My play is finally over (we have to a re-show sometime late-feb but whatever) and we WON 2 prizes (none for acting :P )! So, keep your fingers crossed I might update really soon :D

and Valentine's Day is coming up...hehe you know what that means? Its St. Valentine's b'day! lol
