Chapter 15: Trouble in Ponyville
Authors Note: I know, I know. I took forever on this update, I apologize for that. Life bit me in the butt, by that I mean all my classes felt the need to bury me in homework. I literally have been doing work for like 6-7 hours every day for the past three weeks. When I wasn't doing work, I was too tired to write or plan out anything for this story. I by no means wanted to keep you all waiting for too long, but my school stuff comes first.
Bwaped- I personally haven't been in the Peer to Peer thingy so I can't really compare lol. Mentor Leadership is a pretty laid back class. We mostly just learn about how to be successful and play games that helps everybody get better at communicating with one another. The most important thing we do is we're split up into groups of 2-3 and given a certain class to mentor. We help the freshman start off their first year of high school and offer them our own experiences so they won't make the same mistakes we might have made. Heck, the day before season four comes on we're going to the middle school to talk to the 8th graders. Basically, we're just helping to make high school easier for the underclass men.
With that being said, let's start thiiiiiis. –NinjaDino4

"I just don't understand. Why hasn't Twilight come back yet?" Spike said with concern. He paced back and forth, obviously distraught.
"Hoo?" Owlicious replied, as he flew down to eye level with the baby dragon.
"Twilight." He answered back, stopping in the middle of the library.
"Hoo." The owl stated once more, this time with anger behind it. He was starting to get annoyed by the fact that the baby dragon always misunderstood what he really meant.
Spike grunted in frustration. "Nevermind. Forget what I asked."
There was a series of rapid knocks on the door; Spike gave out a huff before approaching the source. Before he even had the chance to greet the ponies behind the door three fillies tumbled into Golden Oaks.
"Oops, sorry." Sweetie Belle apologized sheepishly.
The three fumbled out of the pile leaving a smushed dragon on the floor in a bit of a shock.
"Spike! This is an emergency!" Scootaloo shouted pulling him off the floor. "We've got no time to be goofing off!"
"Applejack hasn't come home. Ah'm gettin real worried!" Applebloom stated with a pout.
"Neither has Rarity!" Sweetie Belle whined, tears started to glisten from her eyes.
"And I haven't seen Rainbow Dash anywhere!" Scootaloo fluttered for a moment before touching back to the ground.
Spike took in what the three crusaders informed him of. The news was quite alarming, considering the fact that it meant for sure that they had all disappeared without a trace.
"Twilight didn't come back either...it's been hours since she left. Maybe this is all a coincidence. I'm sure Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie got back home." Spike said to the three hoping he was right about his own statement.
"Are you sure?" Applebloom questioned. She didn't know if he was right, but even the slightest bit of evidence to her sister's whereabouts was important
"No use in waiting around for any longer. Come on, we can go check out Sugarcube Corner first." He announced turning his attention to the owl. "Keep an eye on this place Owlicious, we won't be long."
/
"I don't know, what if she's missing too? What then?" Sweetie Belle stated, worry was starting to get to her.
"Then we'll go check out Fluttershy's place. I bet they all went back there after their picnic." Spike assured them all. He didn't know if he believed himself, but at least it gave the three a small smile for a little while.
They entered the sweets shop only to find Mr. and Mrs. Cake running all over the store attending to the twins and trying to finish their orders.
"What's going on here? Why are you two in such a big rush?" Scootaloo asked, she surveyed the mayhem occurring around them.
"Well we have to take care of this big order before our client comes to pick it up, but we're also trying to keep an eye on the twins at the same time." Mr. Cake spat out galloping into the kitchen.
"Pinkie was supposed to watch Pound and Pumpkin, but she never came back and we didn't have time to find another foulsitter." Mrs. Cake explained as she pulled a stuffed rabbit from Pumpkin's mouth.
"Wait ah second, she never came back either?" Applebloom asked curiously.
"We assumed she was just running a bit late coming back from her evening plans, but I guess that wasn't the case. I thought she got side tracked by somepony." Mr. Cake stated running back into the room.
"Looks like this was a bust…" Scootaloo sighed as she headed for the door.
"Only one last place to look. Fluttershy's cottage! Let's hurry!" Sweetie Belle yelled sprinting away with the other crusaders.
"Please let us know if you find Pinkie." Mrs. Cake stated with her head hung low. "We're awfully worried."
"Pinkie." Pound Cake's voice quivered.
"Gone." Pumpkin Cake finished, both wailing at the top of their lungs.
Spike immediately covered his ears in an attempt to drown out some of their crying.
"Will do!" He shouted, not knowing how loud he had been due to his ears being covered, before racing out of Sugarcube Corner to catch up with the girls.
/
"You couldn't have waited for me?!" He said in anger, panting from the exhausting run he had to do.
"Listen here! Ah ain't wastin any time ah could be usin ta find ma sister! Got that!?" Applebloom shouted back, her voice cracking from the power behind it.
"I want to find Twilight just as much as you want to find Applejack! Heck, finding any of them would be great. That still doesn't mean you can run off being reckless! I mean you practically knocked over dozens of ponies on the way here!" Spike retaliated, pressing his nose to AB's muzzle.
"Ah told them ta watch out! Not my fault they didn't listen." Applebloom growled back.
"Enough! Both of you! Arguing isn't gonna get us anywhere." Scootaloo scolded them. Spike and Applebloom shook their heads before letting out sighs.
"Scootaloo's right. Ah'm sorry, Spike. Ah shouldn't get so worked up over this." Applebloom apologized.
"Yeah, me too. Fighting isn't gonna help us." Spike peered further down the road upon noticing that they weren't too far from their destination. "Hey, Fluttershy's cottage shouldn't be too far from here."
The four took off as fast as their legs could carry them. The path between the forest house and the small group shortened with each passing second.
"There it is! Let's hurry!" Spike yelled picking up speed.
They approached the house only to see a dim light coming from the window. Their hopes began to rise; there was that possibility that their friends had been there the entire time. Spike knocked on the door, his heart pounded with anticipation. A shuffling noise came from the other side, moments later the door flung open.
Both parties went from a look of excitement to one of disappointment.
"Let me guess, Fluttershy didn't come home either?" Scootaloo asked monotonously.
Angel shook his head, just as he was about to shut the door on them Sweetie Belle ran inside.
The other three followed her into the cottage. Angel grunted, but continued to close the door before hopping onto the couch.
"What are you doing? We can't just barge into Fluttershy's house." Spike stated, watching Sweetie Belle tear it apart.
"I'm not giving up! We can't give up! We just can't…" Sweetie Bell squeaked. "Now where would she put it?..." She dug through a small drawer before locating just what she needed. "Aha!"
Sweetie Belle shoved a paper and quill towards Spike. He grabbed the items, her intention was quite obvious. He felt a little embarrassed that he hadn't thought of the idea when he first became worried.
"I wanted to write a letter at first, but I didn't think it was this serious...Either way, all of them are gone, there has to be some reason and there's only one pony that can help us!" Spike rapidly began to write, once finished he enveloped the scroll in green fire letting it wisp away to its destination. "And now we play the waiting game."
"Ah hate that game…" Applebloom huffed giving an eye roll in response.
"Better than the quiet game." Scootaloo added earning a couple of giggles from her friends.
A bright light interrupted their laughter, emerging from it was none other than Princess Luna. Her face had a look of seriousness, he mind full of questions and fear. She approached the four with caution as to not overwhelm them with her presence.
"Is it true?" Luna questioned, scanning across the room.
"Of course. We ran all over Ponyville looking for them, but they just disappeared!" Scootaloo explained.
"Applejack would never break a promise. She was supposed to come back home and help buck some apples…but she never came." Applebloom stated with sorrow.
"When was the last time you saw any of them?" Luna asked hoping to get to the bottom of the issue.
"Well…Twilight left a little before noon. She said she was going to come back to the library around one and make a new list since her other list got destroyed…by me…" He admitted with nervous laughter.
"And Rarity had to finish a dress after the picnic! She wouldn't ever dare of being late for an order!" Sweetie answered.
"I saw Pinkie Pie bouncing around town this morning. She had a few bags in her mouth…and some balloons and fake moustaches?" Scootaloo had a look of curiosity and confusion thinking back to the situation.
"Did they say where they were having their picnic?" Luna asked.
Spike took a moment to recall any sort of conversation about the picnic he had with Twilight. "I think Twilight said something about a river? No…a pond? No…a lake! Yeah, a lake."
"Ah only know of one lake around here! Follow me everypony!" Applebloom galloped out in a hurry, a huge smile on her face. At last, she had some lead as to where they last were.
"Couldn't you have just used magic to get us there?" Sweetie Belle asked.
Luna let out a small laugh. "Yes, but young Applebloom had so much determination; my magic would've spoiled it for her."
/
"What the! They aren't here…anywhere around here!" Applebloom wailed, collapsing on the blanket.
"It seems that they were taken…As if something just made them disappear instantly…" Luna stated in deep thought.
"Disappear where? And why?" Spike questioned, picking up Rainbow's sun glasses.
"That I do not know…I wonder what could've caused them to vanish." The Princess inspected the area making sure she didn't miss a single blade of grass which could hold evidence to their questions. "Everything seems in perfect balance…as if they were taken without a fight. This must be a formable foe if anything. As of now, we must remain vigilant.
"Remain vigilant?! What can we do to find them!? I don't want to wait around. I want to find Rarity!" Sweetie Belle argued.
"I suppose we could go to the royal library. There must be a spell to help locate them." Luna noticed the object Spike held in his claw. "Keep those glasses. It could serve a useful purpose, Spike."
Princess Luna cast a teleportation spell. When they opened their eyes they found themselves in the castle in Canterlot.
The small group spread out among the library, their eyes scanned over the multiple books and scrolls that filled the room. An hour passed, the three fillies let out yawns as their tired eyes fluttered from exhaustion.
"We should probably head home if we don't find a spell soon." Spike said rubbing his eyes to keep from falling asleep.
"No need! For I have found a spell that will most likely take care of everything!" Luna cheered in happiness opening the scroll. "It says here that we need an item to locate the being to which we wish."
"Great! Good thing Rainbow left her sun glasses behind." Spike gave a small sigh of relief. Luna used her magic to grab hold of the object.
"Okay, now I need you all to keep quiet as I put all my focus into this spell. There is two parts to it. First I must open up a portal to the location which will allow us to go through. Then I must cast the second part of the spell to get us back here. Simple enough." Luna closed her eyes, pouring all her energy into the tip of her horn.
A small sparkle glistened in the air. It emitted a strange light, growing bigger and bigger by the second. The Princess grunted as she stood her ground. The portal appeared before them, creating a faint glow of blue and purple inside the library.
Luna panted from the magical drain backlash after performing the spell. "There. Now all we have to do is-" Her ear flicked back for a second startling the four.
"Is something wrong?" Scootaloo asked slightly scared of what it could be.
"…I felt a disturbance…A very strange sensation…" Luna said shuffling her hoof on the ground. "We must hurry before-"
The ground started to shake, creating a mess across the floor. Books and scrolls fell off of the shelves. Spike slid and tripped on a book causing him to fall backwards into the portal.
"Spike!" Sweetie Belle gasped before tumbling over from the powerful earthquake. She was launched straight into the portal just as Spike was.
The earthquake suddenly stopped just as the portal closed. The three ponies had jaws that fell to the floor in pure shock.
"Sweetie Belle and Spike fell into the portal. JUST GREAT!" Scootaloo shouted.
"We must find the scroll. Who knows where those two were just sent." Luna announced rummaging through the papers.
"Ah think ah found it." Applebloom picked up the paper only for it to be smeared to the point of being unreadable.
"Oh no! It..it's ruined! I can't bring them back! And that was the only copy…" Luna stammered backwards running straight into her older sister.
"What are these two young fillies doing at the castle?" Princess Celestia asked slightly confused and tired.
"Twilight and her friends are all missing!" Scootaloo informed her.
"Spike and Sweetie Belle fell through a portal and the scroll got ruined durin the earthquake!" Applebloom stated as she ran around in a circle panicking.
Princess Celestia gazed over the three; her unmoving face studied the various emotions unraveling before her.
"Ugh…my head…" Spike grunted as he rolled over in the grass.
"Spike…You okay?" Sweetie Belle asked opening her eyes, the sun quickly blinding her for a second. She sat upright getting a good look at the baby dragon. Only, he wasn't a dragon anymore. "Spike?"
"Yeah?" He questioned hopping to his feet.
Sweetie Belle squeaked in delight scooping him up in her arms. "You're so adorable! But why are you a dog?"
"I have no idea…but what are you supposed to be?" His eyes widened in curiosity.
She put him down on the ground and looked over her body. She had absolutely no clue what species she was supposed to be. Some sort of hairless monkey?
"Forget about what I am…We need to worry about where we are." Sweetie Belle stated surveying her surroundings. All she could see was a hole in the ground full of water and a bunch of chairs around it.
"Maybe we could check out this weird looking house?" Spike suggested walking over to the back door with ease. Sweetie Belle had a rather tough time walking on all fours on the other hand.
She reached out only to notice appendages coming from where her hoof used to be. Wiggling each one individually caused her to grow nervous from the sensation. Sweetie dismissed the feeling and continued to slowly open the door.
When she walked in her eyes fell upon the sleeping body on the couch.
"Is that who I think it is?" Spike asked.
The two heard a noise of a door opening followed by laughter. The turned around upon hearing a gasp.
Sweetie Belle was tackled to the ground.
"Sweetie Belle! Is it really you?!"
"Rarity?" Sweetie pulled back looking over the woman realizing that it indeed was her sister.
"Twilight!" Spike shouted in glee running over to her. "I was so worried about you!"
"I missed you so much!" Twilight dropped down to the floor scooping him into her arms. "But why are you a dog?"
"I am so lost…" Emma said rubbing her head. She glanced over to Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie who shrugged their shoulders in response having no clue what was going on.
"Tell me about it." Jaden added nudging Applejack who rubbed her eyes to make sure her mind wasn't playing tricks on her.
I absolutely loved Spike as a dog. He's just so friggin adorable :3 I'll try not to take like a month to update. Again, super sorry. x( Also, idk when, but at some point I might be having jaw surgery which i'll be out of school for a couple weeks for. I probably wont feel good so I may take a small break from this story when that time comes. Or I may just update a bit more frequently. I'll keep you all posted when I find out about the whole surgery thing. My surgeon and orthodontist are having mixed feelings about the timing of it, but itll probably be around December or January. Just my guess though.
