Aaron watched his girlfriend run alongside the kids she had been instructed to play with, her smile big and bright as a few of the elementary schoolers tried to tag her to get out of the game. They hadn't spoken much since earlier that morning, Emily not knowing what to say to him after he almost pummeled his ex girlfriend, and Aaron not knowing what to say to try and explain why he was about to do the unthinkable.

But the truth was, he had no idea why he had raised his hand. He knew he would never intentionally hit a girl, his parents had taught him better, but there was a moment when a fuse blew and everything went black, and all that filled the teenager's body was anger.

He had seen Haley quickly run off the stage to get some air, and he couldn't blame her. Even if she did do everything in the world to try and break him and Emily up, she didn't deserve to be hit. No girl deserved to be hit.

Looking over to the football field, the dark haired boy smiled, watching a familiar face bound along the grass to get to him.

"Aaron pie!" the bubbly blue eyed girl sang, plopping herself down beside him on the bench. "Why are you sitting over here while your cute girlfriend is along on the field?"

He smiled. "Someone has to watch the baby."

The blond haired girl grinned and snatched the plastic baby from his arms. "I'll do it. Now shoo."

Aaron huffed, glancing out to the field to see his girlfriend helping the kids over to where the water and juice was. "I don't know if she'll want me to."

"What do you mean?"

The older boy shrugged. "It wasn't necessarily a fight, but it was something big. I don't know if I should say anything."

Penelope gave an understand nod of the head. "Do you think she's upset?"

"More like stunned, probably."

The blue eyed teen smiled gently. "Emmy likes to keep a lot from us; makes her feel safer. I think you should try to talk to her before she bottles it up."

Looking to his newfound friend, Aaron smiled. "Thanks Penelope." He got himself up and made his way over to the snacks, the shine in her girlfriend's bright eyes from the sun immediately catching him off guard. He was so lucky to have a girl like her. If they were to break up, it would be his fault. He was in the wrong, and he had to fix it.

He walked up behind the younger girl and laid a hand on her shoulder, giving a small nervous smile when she looked up to him. "How are you dealing with all the kids?"

Emily smiled, letting her boyfriend rub her shoulder as she looked out to the kids running around them. "They're easier than I thought they'd be," she shrugged. Her arms crossed over her chest, and for the first time in a few months, she thought of what her baby could have been like. She would have given birth in just a few months, and she wondered what he or she would look like, what he or she would talk like, and how he or she would feel about their mother being a teen mom. She would love them no matter what, but how would they react once they found out the poor choices she had made?

"Sweetheart?"

The ambassador's daughter's head shot up, her eyes wide as her boyfriend turned her in his arms. "Sorry," she laughed.

Aaron brushed his girlfriend's hair out of her eyes and tried his best to smile. "Everything ok?"

"Yeah," she nodded, brushing it off with a bite of her lip. "I'm just kind of distracted."

He sat them both down in the grass and took her hands in his. "You know I would never hit you," he whispered, making sure the younger brunette looked deep into his eyes. "I would never hurt you. I lost my cool and I shouldn't have, but you stopped me. Thank you."

Emily rubbed her thumb along her boyfriend's knuckles. "I know you wouldn't."

"With everything she's done to us, I lost it, and I know it's nothing I should ever do. I promise to never do that to you."

Leaning up, she brushed her lips against his. "You didn't hurt her, and you won't hurt me. I know you wouldn't do anything like that."

Aaron ran a hand through his girlfriend's dark hair. "I love you."

The whisper was barely caught by Emily's ears, and her chocolate eyes bugged. "You what?"

"Is it too soon?"

She smiled up to the older boy and quickly kissed his lips, her hands cupping both of his cheeks as she smiled against his lips. "No," she giggled, letting him play with the ends of her hair. "I love you too."
