Chapter 16: Awkward Situations?

Authors Note: Derp derp derp derp derp. Season 4 started off super great yesterday. I can't wait till next weekend! :3 I had a sleepover in my living room and woke up at 6 in the morning with my baby brother just to watch it the other day. Watched both episodes three times each…once with each one of my brothers and the other with my sister. She only likes Gummy, so she watched it since he was in it for like 2 seconds lol. Too bad I'll have to record the next three episodes though. Stupid community service is gonna cut into pony time T^T Oh whale, it's just painting a mural for the army so I can't complain about it too much. ;p –NinjaDino4

"Let me get this straight...you two fell into some portal?" Emma repeated back, a bit confused as she tried to follow along with the story her surprise house guests told them.

"Exactly! Well, Spike fell in first actually." Sweetie replied as she checked out the clothing Emma insisted she needed to wear. The former unicorn had no clue as to what the point of wearing the clothes were, but was forced into them regardless. It made no sense to her since Spike wasn't tossed into anything.

"Man, that means my sunglasses are still back in Equestria!" Rainbow complained earning a few questionable looks. Her priorities happened to be a bit shifted due to the groggy attitude her medications produced.

"Seriously? That's your biggest concern?" Jaden asked, laughing at the sheer negligence radiating from her wired shut mouth. Dash simply rolled her eyes in response deciding to keep quiet for the moment.

"Forget the glasses, Rainbow. What I find strange is right when Princess Luna preformed the spell an earthquake occurred." Twilight pointed out.

"I find that quite odd as well, but there's nothing we can do about it." Rarity added.

"At least the Princess has a spell to get us back to Equestria! I bet any second now she'll open up a portal." Spike cheerfully replied, everyone, but Jaden and Emma wore genuine smiles. The two best friends shared a look of nervousness for a spilt second.

"That'd be the best thing ever! I really need to apologize to Mr and Mrs Cake for that whole baby mess." Pinkie scratched her head, guilty feelings felt as if they were consuming her mind.

"And I need to finish my orders. Lots of important things to be done at my Boutique." Rarity chimed with a smile. "At least we know Equestrian time runs much slower than Earth."

"That's not exactly a good thing, Rarity." Applejack said less enthused after putting thought to the time differences.

"Why wouldn't it be?" Rarity questioned.

"Ah guess its good that we won't be missin much back home, but that means it'll cause us ta be stuck here for a while." Applejack explained, the others frowned momentarily.

The mood was killed instantly. Rather, it was killed for the Equestrian residents. Jaden and Emma secretly held happy thoughts, though their outer appearance completely looked backwards.

Fluttershy changed her frown to a small smile. "At least we have each other."

Their heads perked, it felt as if the negativity clouding up the living room instantly vanished.

Twilight leaned back on her air mattress, Spike laid next to her. His small body was curled up, radiating heat on the blanket.

"I still can't believe it was only a few hours for you. It's been days for us!" Twilight exclaimed still shocked by the news.

"It sure felt like more than a few hours...I'm just glad me and Sweetie Belle didn't end up in somebody else's backyard." Spike replied back.

"That's kind of peculiar that you didn't...how'd you even get the right house?" Twilight asked.

"The spell Princess Luna did used an object to locate you guys. Since we used Rainbow's sunglasses it led us to the right place."

"I suppose that makes sense. I guess we'll all be stuck her for a long time, but at least you're here with me."

"Yep..." Spike jumped onto Twilight's stomach. "But I don't know if I can handle being a dog for too long."

"Trust me, you'll get used to it."

/

"I know this is gonna sound terrible...don't you dare judge me!" Emma harshly stated moving her body forward so her back wasn't glued to the pool chair.

"I won't! Promise." Jaden replied holding out his pinkie, which she connected hers to. It was only used for reinforcement between the two, more in a joking childish way, but still retained the idea of him keeping his word.

Emma looked at the screen door that connected to her house's living room. The others were in the home, leaving the two friends the opportunity to have a private conversation.

"...I sort of wish that they didn't have to go back...like I'm hoping the Princesses fail at making some portal back to Equestria for them." She whispered it as if Celestia somehow was eavesdropping.

Jaden let out a sigh, this made Emma feel a bit unsure of herself. She assumed he'd find her a terrible person for her secret wish.

"Thank god, I thought I was the only one." He wiped his forehead making a corny 'phew' sound as he did it.

"Wait...what?!" She said confusingly.

"Why would I feel any different? I don't want any of them to go. It just wouldn't be the same." He replied, his voice became softer with each word.

"Especially Rainbow Dash..." Emma mumbled to herself amusingly.

"What was that?" Jaden asked, his voice growing a little louder.

"Oh nothing." Emma jokingly punched him in the arm. 'God, he is way too obvious.' She thought to herself.

"I thought so." Jaden stretched his arms, checking his watch as he did it. The time read six, an adequate time for dinner. "You mind getting us something to eat? I gotta leave in a couple hours."

"Sure." Emma slid out of the seat phone in hand. "I guess I'll take some of the others with me too."

Emma and Jaden both walked into house. They instantly spotted most of their friends, except Twilight and Spike. Rainbow was hardly awake, her eyes fluttered open and shut. The others were sprawled out on the floor watching TV.

"I'm gonna get food. Anyone wanna come?" Emma asked grabbing her purse.

"Don't have to ask me twice!" Pinkie bounced up in the blink of an eye.

"Ah could use some air. Ah'll go too." Applejack jumped to her feet.

"That sounds pretty nice." Fluttershy said quietly as she gracefully stood up.

Emma didn't bother to ask the other three in the room. She figured Rainbow Dash wouldn't be up to getting off the couch. Rarity and Sweetie Belle seemed to be attached at the hip. Mostly due to Rarity though, as Sweetie only was apart from her sister for a few measly hours.

Jaden stood idly watching the three with shifting glances. He couldn't help, but have this nagging feeling of being selfish. Their happiness was important; however there just would be some empty void if they instantly vanished into thin air one day.

Rarity shifted her eyes towards the glass cabinet. She could see the reflection of Jaden. His face was unreadable, almost sad, yet his expression was not very visible.

She felt a body shift onto her shoulder. Her view moved until it stopped to find her sister fast asleep.

"I think I'll go set up Sweetie Belle's bed." Rarity picked up her little sister and carried her towards the hallway.

She pushed open the door to the guest bedroom wide open with her foot. Quiet snoring filled the room. Rarity looked to the right; Twilight was wrapped up in a blanket while Spike snuggled up next to her.

Laying Sweetie Belle gently on the couch, she tip toed out of the room and flipped off the lights.

Jaden snapped out of his trance. He walked to the end of the couch, lifted Dash's legs and took a seat. Rainbow rubbed her eyes momentarily before noticing the change in her position.

"Did I tell you to sit there?" She questioned with a deadpan tone.

He looked towards Dash, a smirk planted on his face. "I needed your permission, Skittles?" Jaden carefully picked up her legs as he scooted off the seat. "Tell ya what. I won't sit down."

"Good." She replied pretty darn satisfied with how he complied.

"Never said anything about laying next to you though!" Jaden pushed Rainbow over a tad as he hogged up half of the couch.

And that satisfaction was gone.

She shook her head at his childish ways. "You asked for it." Dash narrowed her eyes and elbowed Jaden causing him to roll onto the carpet.

"Oh, you wanna go there?" He stated dusting himself off. Taking a couple of steps to get back on his feet he headed towards her. Jaden picked up Rainbow Dash, although he made sure to not further worsen her injury.

"Put me down! I swear...I swear to Celestia I'll destroy you if you don't put me down!" Dash said between laughs as he practically spun her around the room like some sort of sick twisted amusement park ride.

"Whatever you say!" He playfully responded dropping his body onto the couch. As he pulled her on top of him his shirt sleeve got hooked far behind his head.

"Crap..." He muttered tugging it, but with no luck getting it unhooked.

"What's wrong?" Dash lifted her head from his chest only to see him struggling to free his arm. "Are you kidding me?!"

The two were face to face on the furniture. Jaden was on the bottom and Rainbow was on top.

"Do you...do you think you could like climb over me and get my arm unstuck?" He begged trying his best to not yank his arm out of socket.

Rainbow Dash attempted to pull herself forward, but the excruciating pain coming from her leg caused her to stop. Her face scrunched up with any further movement.

"I-I can't." She sighed in defeat. Her arms pulled back and hung limp.

"Rainbow Dash, I was only gone for a few minutes. You sure work fast." Rarity joked walking in on the awkward looking scene.

Rainbow turned bright red from embarrassment, seemingly almost the exact same color as the red in her hair. Jaden couldn't help, but laugh at the expense of the girl lying on top of him.

"And what are you laughing at?" She punched him in the shoulder instantly shutting him up.

"No need to pretend like nothing's going on. I can just leave you both to it." Rarity let a couple of giggles slip out as she headed for the hall. She was no idiot; she knew they weren't purposefully up to anything. It was just fun to mess around with Rainbow Dash for the time being.

"No, wait! Please, get us out of this!" Rainbow pleaded hearing the footsteps of her friend grow fainter.

"You know, I could...but I don't think I will. I suppose this is a little payback for that dress you ruined of mine."

"What kind of generosity is that?" Jaden asked. He didn't exactly want to be stuck beneath Rainbow Dash. Not that she didn't have that glow of attractiveness. It was the fact that he liked it a little too much and he certainly didn't want her to find out.

"I'm sorry, I'm afraid I'm just too weak to help you two." Rarity over dramatically responded back. "If you need me I'll be in the backyard relaxing."

"...That went swimmingly..." Jaden mumbled after Rarity shut the back door.

"Yeah well, this is all your fault Casanova." Rainbow turned her head towards the wall; her ear could pick up the faint heartbeat coming from him.

"I guess...but you should've seen your face when Rarity walked in! It was as bright as a tomato!" He teased only to receive a nasty glare.

"Give it a rest." Rainbow fluttered her eyes shut. They felt awfully heavy, almost like her body needed the sleep.

Jaden sat in silence for a little while. He found the no conversation going on to be kind of weird. "Hey...I'm sorry for laughing."

No response.

"Didn't you hear me? I said I was I sorry." He repeated a little louder causing her to groan.

"Rainbow?" He used his free arm to poke her face to which she swatted away instantly.

The front door opened in the background. Jaden realized that this was probably going to be more embarrassing for Rainbow Dash than it was going to be for him. He needed an excuse, one that was going to let Dash off the hook for being on top of him.

As the others entered the room with a handful of food he watched their facial expressions. It was a combination of amusement and confusion. Not that what they thought affected him though.

"Guess a lot happened while we were gone." Emma said holding back any snickers that tried to come out.

"That's so adorable!" Pinkie squealed loud enough that Rainbow's eyes began to open.

Dash shot up instantly, pushing through the pain from her leg. She gritted her teeth to somehow cope with it. From the way she was laying Rainbow ended up sitting on her knees, although in the heat of the moment her left one buckled forward straight into an unsuspecting crotch.

"Jesus Christ!" Jaden screeched in a high pitch pulling his body into fetal position.

"Ah reckon things just took a turn for the worse." Applejack winced at the sight of it all.

"Are you alright?" Fluttershy asked quietly.

He coughed to cover up any girly shrieks that would try finding its way out. "Never been better." Jaden lied sitting upright. "This is all my fault anyways."

"Huh?" Dash questioned stupidly.

"She had no idea she was even laying on me. I pushed her over so I could lay down too, but she ended up rolling over on top of me." Rainbow's face started to flush out back to its original color.

"Right...well uh...where's the others?" Emma handed the two a bag which contained their dinner.

"Rarity's in the back. I'm guessing the other three are sleeping or something." Dash answered.

The four left to fetch the rest of them, leaving the two alone in the living room. Jaden started to get up, but Rainbow grabbed his arm pulling him back down.

"Why'd you do that?" She whispered.

He gave her a small smile. "I just thought you'd die from embarrassment if I didn't take all the blame."

"...Oh...well thanks..." Dash didn't have a clue what else to say to his kind gesture. Maybe he wasn't some big jerk like she originally though.

"But next time could you try not to knee me in that particular area?" He hunched over.

Rainbow Dash looked at him in confusion. 'Next time? What is that supposed to mean?' She thought to herself.

Hopefully I'll get some time to write the next chapter this week. Maybe. Possibly. I like to procrastinate…super sorry if I do. xD
