AN: I apologize for not updating in almost a freaking month. I'll be updating a a lot when I'm on my winter break. So here it is. The new chapter. Enjoy.

-Clary P.O.V-

Meliorn and I are in a comfortable situation: my head on his lap and his head tilted back on the front of my couch. I changed into yoga pants after my date with Mel because that dress, though gorgeous, is insanely uncomfortable.

I stare at Meliorn's moss green eyes while he's staring at the T.V. The look of intense concentration on his face is adorable. We're at my house, the restaurant, about an hour after we arrived, started filling up with people so we took our leave. I introduced Meliorn to Charlotte and Jordyn because they really wanted to meet him. Izzy told them, curse her soul. He's a natural with them, I swear.

He unconsciously strokes my hair which is splayed out on his lap. I close my eyes and smile gently. Though it doesn't last long because I remember the conversation that I had with the girls right after they met Meliorn.

"Mom," Jordyn touches my arm. "Can we talk to you?" As she says this, she glances back at her sister.

"Sure, honey," I smile. "What's up?"

"I'm... I'm a little nervous about asking so, Charlie, can you say it?" Jordyn bites her lip.

"Sure, Jordyn," the older of the twins steps forward and clears her throat. "Mom. We need you full and undivided attention for you to fully answer this question."

I cock an eyebrow at them but nod, all the same.

"Is Meliorn going to take Daddy's place?" She looks up at me with her big, gold eyes and cocks her head to the side, waiting for my response.

Jordyn steps forward once again and shoves her hands in her leather jacket.

"Well?" She rocks back on her heels.

"No, sweetheart," I say, gasping for breath. "Probably not, anyways. We're just counting on your father to come back first, guys. We'll be fine. He's just a friend, promise."

"Okay, Mom," the twins both say, in sync. They grin at me and walk away, arm in arm, whispering to themselves. I chuckle, shake my head, and walk away, back to Meliorn.

I shake my head and focus back on reality.

Meliorn's moss green eyes are staring back at me, obviously concerned.

"You okay, Clary?"

I nod my head, forcing a weak smile onto my face, while looking up at him.

"I'm fine. I'm fine." I squeeze my eyes shut and press the heels of my eyes into them, inflicting much welcomed pain. Anything's better than cutting. Anything. Well, at least that's what Jace said.

"I need to go now, sweetheart," he kisses my forehead and shifts underneath me.

My face slips into a pout and he chuckles softly, patting my cheek.

"While you were zoned out, I got a call from my sister. She wants me to help her make a cake for her daughter's birthday, though she knows that I can't bake for anything." He rolls his eyes.

I chuckle and turn around.

"Bye Meliorn," I smile at him.

He grins at me and gives me a little wave before he heads out the door.

I sigh and flop back on my sofa, already 7000% done with the day already.

-Jace's P.O.V-

I can't get over Alec and his issues. Why would he come to my door like that? I know that he gets along with all of my friends, especially Clary, considering they were childhood friends. They've been close ever since Clary's was the twins' age. But did he really have to come to my hotel room and scream up a storm?

I'm rocking back and forth on my heels, waiting the arrival of Maia. She can definitely aid me in this Clary situation.

God I miss her.

Get over yourself, Herondale.

A knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts. My eyes snap up to the door and suddenly my palms are getting clammy once again. I groan and sluggishly walk towards the door, holding onto the handle. I take a deep breath and open the door, revealing a brown haired beauty right in front of my eyes.

She looks exactly like I remember her. Her hair still looks like a lion's mane, her caramel skin is still as flawless as remembered, and her brown eyes are staring at me with the same intensity as is in her soul. Yeah, she's still Maia.

"Hey Jace," she grins and twines her arms around my neck.

I kiss her on the cheek and take a step back.

"How are you, Maia?"

She shrugs.

"Pretty okay. You know, considering I'm your ex and all."

AN: Alrighty guys. I love you so much and I hope that you'll be patient with me and my messed up updating schedule.

I think that I'mma start doing review goals again. 123 reviews before update? If we don't get there in 3 weeks, then I'll just update, regardless. Bye people.

Love you guys so much,
