2. Prologue

Vault 40. The safest place in Krasell, and one of the many vaults around the world. 40 had been established in the case of a disaster, but was not expected to be used. When Krasell ended up becoming a war-zone, the government had no choice but to nuke it for the safety of everyone.

So Vault 40 was filled to the brim with people, but there ended up not being enough resources and space for everyone, so many people were forced out a few weeks after the nuke had already done damage. Everyone who was forced out either had to find shelter elsewhere or died from the radiation and mutants. Most went out the second way.

The ones that stayed were taught to obey The Overseer, and were led to believe that he was the only thing that could keep everyone in there alive. Many kids were born there with the thought that beyond Vault 40 nothing existed, and the ones who witnessed the nuke were brainwashed into thinking they were there forever. Few have left The Overseer's grasp, but the ones that have know The Overseers dark truth.

One of these people was Quellite Kazaka, a clever, nimble fox, who ended up accidentally getting caught up in something worse than a dark, little secret...
