Chris sat outside the room, where Kaitlin was giving birth. his thoughts all over the place, his knees shaking and his hands over his face.
am i really ready for this? being a father is a big thing! Im scared but i'm happy! I need to snap out of this!
"Chris?"
Chris looked up after hearing his name come out of Brendan's mouth. Chris didn't think Brendan was really all that smart, he was a bit bigger for most 21 year old males and his silly jokes that Chris never liked, one thing he did like though, the fact that Brendan was always there for people he cared about.
"why aren't you in there with her?" Brendan asked holding his coffee from the hospitals cafeteria
Chris was wondering the same thing! along with all his other thoughts, he was scared, could he possible be a good father?
"i'm scared man, she is in pain, i'm not going to be a good father - " Chris began before Brendan cut him off and began his response
"no one is ever a good father straight away, you have to learn from your mistakes so you can become a good father"
Brendan sat next to him as he took a sip of his coffee and looked at the room Kaitlin was giving birth, Chris stood up and walked towards the door looking back at Brendan and giving him a nod, the nod was returned by Brendan and Chris walked into the room.
The sounds of labour and birth filled his ear drums, the sound of doctors and nurses talking, the sound of Kaitlin's heavy breathing, he walked past the curtain to see the birthing of his child, the nurse held the new born baby in her arms.
"are you the farther?" she asked, Chris nodded and the nurse smiled.
the doctor passed him over a pair of scissors and pointed to the umbilical cord. Chris grabbed the slimy umbilical cord and in one swift motion cut the cord severing the physical connection between the child and its mother.
the nurse walked away and Chris looked at Kaitlin who weakly gave him a smile, still breathing heavily but seem like she was glad that the most difficult part was over. Chris walked over and sat by her side grabbing her hand, his thought in a new place.

Tori hurried down the steel stairwell, in a panic. She knew she was late and she was in trouble for being late, her thoughts going through her head on why she accepted the job offer from Umbrella to begin with, she hit the tiled floor of the lowest level of the Umbrella facility and started a jog through the corridors until she got to room 201, she opened the door and was greeted by 3 men and a woman sitting around a big table made from marble. she walked in and sat at the end of the table and looked at all the figures around her, 2 men on one side, William Birkin, Umbrellas lead scientist, she didn't know about much about him or what he was doing, but she had heard so many stories about him and his work, next to him a middle aged man with slick brown hair and a clean shaven face, Tori never knew his name, all she knew him as was Mr Black, many of the workers called him that and only higher ups called him by his real name. Across from them was a female and another male, the female was in a lab coat, she was also married to William Birkin, Annette, she was a nice lady, but when someone brought up Williams work she would always be defensive, love at its finest. The Man next to her was a representative from Umbrellas Australian Branch, Umbrella had just built a high tech Training/Testing facility there, she didn't know his name either, in her mind he was known as blue pants because she had never seen him wear any other colour pants. Across from Tori was the man who approached her for her so called "mission". he was a corrupt police chief, who was working for Umbrella so if they were involved in anything illegal, he could cover it up. Brian Irons, Tori always got the creep feeling from him, every time she saw him. at this moment he was looking at her, eyes fixed on her.
"glad you could join us" he said firmly.
Tori looked around to see 5 set of eyes set on her, Brian Irons picked up her coffee mug and took a sip before speaking again.
"information of Officer Joshua Inserra please" he asked
Tori opened the documents and read through them before she spoke, her mission outlined getting as much information on Officer Inserra as he was one of Umbrellas top picks to bring in, for a project they were working on, she felt sick to her stomach about it. she didn't want to lead him on but still didn't understand why he agreed to become exclusive with her, she knew that he was in love with her sister. he had been trying to get back with her since their high school days back in Australia but she turned him down every time, Tori knew how Shauna felt about him but was always to nervous to act on it, instead turning him down each time and hurting him in the process. Tori looked up at Brian Irons and began to speak.
"Josh is working for S.T.A.R.S with the Alpha Team as a B&E Specialist, these skills were picked up during high school when he broke into his friends houses to get them out of a bad situation, including my house once when Shauna my older sister and i got into a ver bad fight. He is good with Firearms and is a good shot. His hand to hand combat is up to par with S.T.A.R.S recommendations"
Brian looked at her and nodded, he took another sip from his coffee mug and stood up.
"Good work, the first payment will be in your letter box tomorrow morning, now if you excuse me i need to be at the RPD, good bye"
Brian walked out followed by the other 4 in the room leaving Tori sitting in her chair in a empty cold room with her thoughts.
she picked up the picture of Josh in her documents, knowing if he found out he would be mad, hurt and upset.
hurt by another sister, what have i done? why am i doing this? is the money worth it, 10 grand after each meeting just for details on Josh. he wont find out, ill make sure of it, its to late to back out.
Tori stood up, taking a deep breath, she scooped up her documents and walked out of the room closing the door behind her.
