Draco's POV
Hermione walked away and I went to find out who I was going to walk down the aisle.
I found the wedding planner and told her my name and also asked her if she knew who my partner was. She replied that it was either Hermione, Weaslette, or Lovegood, so I went first to find the Weaslette.
I saw the Weaslette talking to Lovegood and decided to ask them both. "Hello, Weaslette, Lovegood," I told them as they both stared at me.
"Well hello, Malfoy," they both greeted in a not so friendly way, but also not hostile like it used to be.
"Do you two have any chance of knowing who your partner will be?"
"We got the invitations so, yeah, we know. My partner is Vicente and Luna's is Angelo. And may I ask why you're asking?"
"Sure, I was asked a favor to help Blaise's cousin. I'm sure you can put two and two together with those pieces of information."
Her brows wrinkled as she thought about it. Her eyes widened in realization as she found out. Lovegood on the other hand, already knew it, who knows how long, and kept quiet as the Weaslette thought.
"So your the mystery guy."
I was confused, "What do you mean I am the 'mystery guy'?"
You're the only groomsman we didn't know so we called you 'mystery guy'."
"Well, that's interesting to hear," I said with a too obvious sarcastic voice.
Both of them didn't pay any attention to what I said or they either just ignored it.
"Hermione's so lucky to be paired up with someone she knows really well," the girls gushed.
"Well, if you girls don't mind, I'm going to look for Hermione now."
"Ok, bye, Malfoy."
I went around the start of the aisle and spotted Hermione. I was about to approach her but then I saw she was talking to Blaise and Matteo.
Blaise said something and Hermione looked shocked. She murmured something. Blaise replied with a long paragraph. Her face looked flushed and was redder than normal.
Just as I was about to walk away, I saw her walk in my direction and Blaise called after her, "Sure, but don't forget what I just said." She nodded.
Her brown eyes searched the crowd until they met mine. We stood staring at each other what felt like hours until she decided to come over.
"Hey, Draco," she said with a dreamy look in her eyes, "guess what? We're going to be partners!"
"Yeah, I just found out a while ago and came looking for you."
Her face flushed again as she pulled me into the line.
"What happened there with Blaise?"
"Um, nothing, you won't want to know."
The wedding started and the band played the piece 'Canon in D Major.'
Matteo was the first one to walk down the aisle. Women made flirty faces as he passed, but it was useless, of course. He was already going to get married.
Blaise was next, he walked, swaggered really, down the aisle and more women sighed, I rolled my eyes at the sound. And again, it was useless because he has a girlfriend of three years.
Weasley and Vicente followed after him. People took pictures of them and the Weaslette smiled. Clearly, she's enjoying all the attention and I scoffed.
Hermione noticed and slapped my arm jokingly. I just grinned at her as she glared at me, but it didn't last, she soon grinned.
We were walking next so I fixed my clothes on the last minute. Hermione
did the same and checked her heels so she won't trip.
"Ready?" She asked when I finished fixing myself. I nodded. She told me to catch her if there's any chance she's going to trip.
"Don't worry," I reassured her, "I won't allow anything to harm you."
I smiled at him to show that I heard. Well, great minds do think alike. Not that my mind is, but hers is great, that's one of the things I admire about her, her intelligence and wit.
When the wedding planner gave us a sign to say that it's our turn, we started walking. I put on my best smile as tons of people took pictures of us.
There are only three reasons why they're taking pictures of me and Hermione. It's either they want to have memories of this wedding, or because we're famous, or maybe because it was odd to see the both of us together without fighting.
Clearly, the ones who didn't attend Hogwarts didn't know of our friendship. They assume the things now were the same as the things they were before.
We reached our seats without any complications. Blaise, Fleur, Hermione, and my seat were at the front row on the left side. Ginny's, Luna's, Angelo's, and Vicente's seats were on the front row right.
Before we could sit down, however, Hermione accidentally stepped on the edge of her dress and tripped. She was about to hit the finely polished marble floor when I grabbed her waist and right wrist to prevent her from hitting the ground.
She looked up at me and I put on a small smile on my face. "Careful there," I smirked.
She straightened herself and brushed off imaginary dust from her dress. Her face was as red as a tomato and I continued to smirk at her while clutching her waist and wrist.
"Thanks," she whispered, sitting down hurriedly still blushing.
I felt even more smug and said, "No problem." I sat down beside Hermione, smirking.
Weasley and Vicente followed afterwards and we watched them walk down the aisle silently. I could still feel the warmth of her skin against mine.
I glanced at her when she wasn't looking and saw her cheeks were still burning, I guess she's also thinking about it.
I scooched closer to her and leaned down so I could whisper in her ear, "See, I kept my words. You won't have to worry about anything as long as you're with me."
"Please stop," Hermione said her face still red, "you're making me blush."
I wrapped my arm around her slim waist and heard her gasp softly. I chuckled softly and she glared at me but didn't pull away.
We watched as Lovegood and her partner walk down the aisle followed by Fleur and lastly, Matteo's parents.
The song stopped and a new one played, the song that's always played in weddings, 'The Wedding March.'
Everyone in the room stood up. I offered Hermione my hand and she took it. I helped her stand as we all turned to the gigantic doors of the church that are about to be opened.
The doors opened slowly and Danica appeared accompanied by her parents on either side of her. She grinned joyously at the crowd watching her walk down the aisle.
She looks beautiful, I'm not gonna lie. Every girl deserves to be and feel like that on their wedding day.
When they reached the end of the aisle, Danica's parents handed her to Matteo and went to their seats.
We sat down again the the ceremony started. Occasionally, I caught Hermione glancing at me but I didn't show her that I knew about it.
Subsequently, I felt her lean towards my ear and she whispered, "Thank you, Draco."
As she whispered, I felt a weird tingling inside my stomach that I feel when I'm with her, I can't explain it.
"For what?" I asked, still breathless for some reason.
"Well, for taking Blaise's position when he can't," she said.
"So?"
"So," she continued, "I ended up with someone I know. I mean, both Ginny's and Luna's partners were strangers."
"Oh, well then, your welcome."
She smiled at me and I grinned back. We sat like that for a while when suddenly, she leaned on my shoulder, I stiffen but recovered instantly and I wrapped my other arm around her shoulders.
