Draco's POV

I felt very happy to have accepted Blaise's position in this wedding. I very well don't regret it. I gotta remember to thank him later, after the wedding.

I looked down at Hermione, she cuddled into my chest as I held her in my arms and felt myself smile unconsciously, so it's not necessarily unconscious.

During the ceremony, we talked a lot, but not too loud to disturb the ritual. We talked much about what happened in our lives that the other missed.

I told her about my business and also living near King's Cross Station and seeing the students of Hogwarts enter it every first of September.

For her part, she told me how she ended up as a bridesmaid for Blaise's cousin's wedding and some random stuff that happened in her life.

We talked until we came to this part of our conversation and it started to go not so well.

"You're still not married?" She glanced at me, one eyebrow raised.

"No, I'm still waiting for the person I could love and trust. If I find her, I'll immediately make her my wife. My parents were planning on setting me up on an arranged marriage but I refused."

"Well, why did you? And won't your parents hate you or something?"

"Well, I have loved this particular girl since first year at Hogwarts, but I don't think she liked me back. We were in different houses and she liked another guy, which wasn't me. I used to hate her and her friends very much, but it all changed when an event happened. It changed our relationship and I was very glad it did, otherwise, I think my life would be very different right now.

I didn't bother to tell her how I feel because I don't think she will ever believed in what I say. We became really good friends near the last years of school and usually joke arond and that's how I have grown to love her. After that, I haven't loved anyone else ever since, even until now."

"Wow, just a single girl stole your heart and you've never loved ever since? Haven't you moved on? You should forget about her and find another woman whom you could claim as your wife."

"But I can't forget her. She stole my heart permanently. I still haven't moved on since the day we parted."

"Well, is this girl already married? If she is, then you better let her go. If she's still not, then you still might have a chance with her, unless she's got a boyfriend."

"I don't think she's married, and I'm still not too sure if she's got a boyfriend because I haven't seen her since the graduation day. I still haven't forgotten her."

Hermione nodded and smiled a little, "Well, god luck to you. May you find the perfect woman you will spend your life with."

I shake my head vigorously, "I can't."

"Because you can't let go of her? Well, you gotta have to as the days, weeks, and months pass.

You can't just keep pinning after her. You've got two choices: either do something to remind her of you and bring you two closer or don't do anything but try to let her go. She deserves to love whoever she desires."

I sigh, thinking of what she just said. I put that matter aside and concentrate first on getting to know more about her love life.

"That's quite enough about me. Let me have my turn on asking you some questions."

She smiled and nodded, saying, "What do you want to ask me?"

"Let's start simple. Do you have a boyfriend?"

"...No."

"Shouldn't you be engaged to Weasley right now? Or even be marrying him? Isn't he supposed to be your boyfriend?"

More than thirty seconds passed and she remained silent. I turned my head to look at her. She seemed uncomfortable with the subject about Weasley. I wonder why.

"Are you alright?" I asked, looking at her worriedly.

"I'm fine. What makes you say that I'm not?" She replied.

"You looked ready to murder someone when...um...his name was mentioned."

"It's nothing, really," she replied looking at me straight in the eye, "It's just, I don't want anything to do with him."

"Seems like you two had a really big misunderstanding."

"It's not actually a misunderstanding. He did it intentionally."

I gave her a few seconds to cool down before I asked her, "Care to tell me what happened between you two that destroyed a relationship?"

She hesitated for a while, but eventually, she told me, "You know, Draco, you are the only one I really trust in this world so please, promise me that you wouldn't tell anyone else about what I will be telling you."

"Ok, I promise you that I won't tell any other soul in this planet, but may I know why I have too?"

She faced forward, her eyes shifted to the priest holding the ceremony and also to the couple who were looking at each other lovingly.

I glanced at her, then at her eyes. Pure desolation could be seen in the beautiful brown almond-shaped windows to her soul.

"If you want to know, it is not much of a reason but I feel ashamed of it. I don't want the public to think I was the person who was wrong in the relationship between the two of us. It wasn't my fault we had a fallout, he was the one who intentionally left."

"You don't have to worry, Hermione. As long as you know that I believe in you more than that so-called boyfriend of yours, you don't have to mind those people who are against you. It's their loss anyway. At least you know that I know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."

Hermione smiled and giggled a bit, "You know, you sound like an optimist and a lawyer, and I quite like that."

I smiled at her, genuinely entranced by her beauty. I stared at he intently and I think she noticed cause a pink shade appeared on her cheeks.

"So," I started, breaking the silence and also the tension that's growing between us, "mind telling me what really happened?"

"Yeah, sure, so anyways, it all started when..."
