Tamaki had kept his word, and told Kaoru to meet with him at small park. The redhead looked around, there wasn't much to look at, but there was a small water park off to the side. It was autumn, the water springs weren't spraying water, there weren't children in their bathing suits. Instead, a handful of children were playing in a playhouse.
It was windy, but the sun counteracted the weather, beaming down in all its glory. So, maybe Kaoru was kind of early. He actually had to stop by Haruhi's for a bit, just to pass by time. The redhead waited patiently, stuffing his hands in his pockets. He turned up the volume of his iPhone, and leaned against the chain fence. He briefly wondered when the taller blond was going to be here, but blamed it on himself for being early.
Two songs played and he felt the fence dip back a bit to his right. He looked to see a smiling Tamaki, waving to him. Kaoru was filled with joy upon seeing the face he adored for so long. He took out his earbuds and stopped the next song from playing.
"Hey, Space Cadet." The violet eyed male greeted, and held out his arm for his escort to take. Kaoru rolled his eyes and linked their arms together. "How's Kao-chan today?"
"You don't need to use honourifics with me, Tama-chan." Kaoru walked alongside with his boyfriend.
"I know, but it's a Japanese custom." His velvet-like voice continued, "Plus, I think it's cute." Kaoru chuckled, a slight blush gracing his cheeks. The redhead wondered where they would be going today. "Well, it's still a bit early. Do you want to go check out a few stores first?" The blonde asked.
"A bit early for what?" The redhead pondered, thinking of many things they could do today.
"That, my dear Kaoru, is a secret." A knowing glint sparked within violet orbs.
"Of course it is," Kaoru stared up to his porcelain complexion, "But yeah, window shopping sounds fun."
"We're not window shopping, I'm not, anyway. I actually wanted to go to this antique store." Tamaki stated, walking in the direction Kaoru assumed to be where the antique shop was. "It's not too far from here."
"I didn't know you were the type to go antiquing, Tamaki." Kaoru snickered behind his hand.
"Don't worry about it, I'm sure by the time we turn 20, we'll be practically bound to the bone." The taller male laughed lightly. They made a turn at a crosswalk.
"That doesn't sound too pretty." The redhead teased, his stomach flittering. He could say he was happy the taller male had implied they were going to be together for a long time.
"The person I'll be bound to is." Tamaki looked over to the redhead, to see the reaction he will display. Kaoru stopped, unable to be rid of his ever glowing blush. The blonde smirked, adoring the flustered look that was being displayed to him. "Now, let's go; the shop is literally just right there!" He grabbed Kaoru's arm and ushered him towards the shop. The redhead willed his legs to move, going the same pace as the male beside him.
Tamaki opened the door, bowing as Kaoru passed through. He followed closely behind him, and both males quickly noticed the musty, old smell the store gave off. Kaoru quickly began to look around, fascinated by the littlest things. He was looking through a bin of small dessert spoons. Each one was different, with intricate details, some with rust forming. He found one that stood out, a silver, slightly rusted one. It was a jewel graved into it, at the tip of the handle. A pretty lilac colour. He put it back and looked beside the bin. Countless clocks displayed on the shelves. Some ticked, some didn't.
The redhead looked around for the blonde. It was easy to spot the male, his blonde hair stood out from anything. Kaoru slowly made his way to the blonde, looking at anything he passed by. Meanwhile, Tamaki had been looking at wristwatches. They were on display at the front, in a glass case. Some wrist watches looked ancient, even more so if they had a chipped, velvet box protecting it.
"My mother loves wristwatches." Tamaki started, scanning each little detail over every watch that were displayed. There was a small, delicate, golden coloured watch. Kaoru leaned down to take a closer look, there were small little scratches against the glass. The big arm looked like it was desperately trying to move on to the next second.
"What's your mother like?" He asked, curious amber eyes asked. Kaoru silently admired the small graceful smile on the blondes lips.
"Well, for one; she's beautiful." He spoke with such genuine pride, this only made Kaoru want to meet her. "She has long blonde hair, the most amazing smile I have ever seen." Tamaki looked over at his young lover, "She is very kind, I'm sure you'd love her." Kaoru only admired all the kind words he spoke of her, and that he would like to meet her someday.
They both smiled, neither breaking the relaxed air amongst themselves. Tamaki had waved for the cashier, urging them to give some assistance. He pointed out a dainty wristwatch, a creamy beige colour with golden edges.
"I'd like to purchase this one, please." His genuine grin shone, he looked over to Kaoru and placed his hand in his. "Come on.." The blonde dragged the redhead to the counter, where the cashier had been punching buttons into the cash register.
Kaoru could only focus on his now sweating palm, which embarrassed him just a bit. His self consciousness only drifted away when Tamaki squeezed his hand, and proceeded to rub circles with his thumb. It was very soothing to the younger male. The redhead watched as Tamaki received a small plastic bag from the worker. The cashier hollered for them to come back soon as they said their byes.
"Alright, shall we go back? We need to get going.." Tamaki stated, quickly intertwining their arms. Kaoru smiled, the taller male was in a rush to get somewhere, and he couldn't wait to see what was in store for him.
It was only getting warmer out, the cold winds died down, and Kaoru unzipped his jacket. They were both walking back to the small park, where Kaoru believed was Tamaki's way of transportation. While walking, Tamaki had started a conversation about his last years at school. As much as Kaoru disliked school, or even talking about school. Tamaki's public school seemed dull, and boring. The antics Tamaki and his friends pulled off were amusing, though.
"We managed to put up a MatchMakers booth, which technically wasn't allowed, for the young potential lovers. Someone had to, right?" The blonde smiled down at Kaoru, waiting for his reaction. "The students at my school are mostly, uh, scared to go up to their crush. I come in, and as King, had to make sure my little pumpkins-"
"Who dubbed you king?" Kaoru snickered at Tamaki's reaction. It didn't take one guess to see that he was shocked.
"Well, the entire student body, of course! I am King of MatchMaking, ask anyone of my friends." He winked, and the redhead only rolled his eyes.
"Well, your highness, we have arrived at our destination." Violet eyes scanned the park, in search for something. Tamaki motioned for Kaoru to follow, hastily, they made their ways across the park and in front of a parked truck. Kaoru waited for Tamaki to get into the drivers seat, he was slightly nervous. He knew Tamaki, as a friend, wouldn't do anything to hurt either of them. His nervousness eased up, and he got into the passengers seat.
The engine roared, and soon enough Tamaki began driving down the roads.
