"Yeah, I know?" Kaoru groaned, pacing back and forth in his and Hikaru's room. He smacked his forehead, mentally screaming at himself. "God, Kaoru, you are so stupid!" He heaved a heavy sigh, his brother was watching him with uninterested eyes. He sat down at the edge of his bed in defeat, and kept mumbling to himself.
"Yeah, I agree." Hikaru mocked, he sat behind his younger brother and rest his chin on his shoulder. "You are stupid, but," Hikaru emphasised on the word 'but', "…you are my baby brother. So, what can big brother Hikaru do to help out?"
"I do NOT know! I don't know what he is- I can't relate to him." Kaoru exhaled, leaning back into his brothers' embrace.
"Well, for starters, what's the problem?" Hikaru questioned, "We are talking about your boyfriend, right?" He wondered, his mind making up very complicated scenarios that could be happening between his brother and Tamaki. Maybe Tamaki is leaving abroad, no, that can't be it. Or Tamaki is being transferred to another Éclair's around the world? That seems more believable, and realistic.
"His dad is the chairman to our school-"
"Yeah, I can see how you can't relate to him." Hikaru butted in, "But you have to know, not EVERYONE can be the sons of the chairman of Ouran." Kaoru elbowed Hikaru in the stomach, laughing lightly. It did not matter that he was just abused by his brother, he was laughing. That mattered. "So, why isn't he attending Ouran?"
"Hika, you aren't even going to let me finish." Kaoru teased, Hikaru pressed his lips together. Kaoru laughed and continued, "He doesn't want to attend the school, and he'd rather go to a commoner's school. I don't know how he can do that. It seems very…boring."
"Who would want to do that? I heard that rats are a common sight at public schools." Both brothers shivered in disgust. Scenes popped into their heads of a swarm of rodents gathered, slipping by, and climbing lockers, desks, and chalkboards. They avoided thinking about what a commoner's cafeteria would look like.
"Yuck." Both boys said in unison. They shook off the mental images and went back to the problem.
"He just doesn't want to go there. His dad 'expects way too much' of him. He just wants to be free." He kept thinking about what Tamaki said, what he means. It might sound simple, but it was a complicated concept for both Hikaru and Kaoru. They were going to take over their moms company when they were old enough. It was common for people like them, and Tamaki fell into that category.
"I don't know, Kaoru. Maybe you could get to know why he wants that. You guys haven't been dating that long." Hikaru suggested with a shrug of his shoulders. "You could go see him during his lunch period. I think it would be cool if you wanted to get in touch with your 'commoner' side." Hikaru snickered.
"I don't have a 'commoner' side. It would be… a new adventure, though; to see what a public school is like." Kaoru nodded. He stood up, pacing in thought. "Yeah, I'll do that. If I get bitten, you're sucking the venom out."
"Haha, no. You're going there, you do it yourself." Hikaru crossed his arms.
"I'm not going alone!" Kaoru said, staring at his brother. He couldn't believe his own brother was going to let him go alone to a commoner school. Everyone would think differently of him at Ouran. Kaoru thought it would be best for a few more friends would join along in the fun adventure. He smiled evilly, he would definitely bring Kyoya and Haruhi along. Then Hikaru would have no choice but to join in. They were all friends on some level. Haruhi might even have some info on what it's like beforehand, too. It's going to be great.
"Okay, Haruhi, tell us what it's like." Kaoru held out a notebook and pen. The four teenagers were in a limousine headed to Tamaki's school. It was around noon. He looked to Haruhi, who was deep in thought.
"Well, it's smaller than Ouran. Most public schools allow visitors, and there are a lot of students." The brunette said, Haruhi tried thinking back to when they were in a public school, "Also, don't call them 'commoners' it annoys them." Haruhi deadpanned, thinking back to when they was constantly called a commoner. "They're normal people, so don't belittle them."
"Got it." Both Hikaru and Kaoru nodded. The limousine halted, and Kaoru looked out. The driver called back to them, stating that they have arrived. Kaoru looked out of the window. Students were already loitering outside the school. Most were looking directly at their vehicle. Kyoya was first to get out, then Haruhi, then Kaoru, and then Hikaru. They stared in awe at the very boring looking three story school. There was nothing luxurious about it. Kaoru looked around, students were dressed in a very plain blazer, some skirts, some pants, and a white button up shirt.
"Hey, can you direct us to the cafeteria?" Kyoya asked a random student. She and her friends squealed.
"We can show you where it is." One of them said. Kyoya bowed and motioned for them to lead the way. They giggled some more. The four followed closely behind the commoner students.
"This place is, uh, something." Hikaru stated, boredom visible in his voice. They walked into the school building. Lockers lined the walls, and students filled the halls. "Do we know if Tamaki is even going to be in the cafeteria?" Hikaru wondered, looking around, his hands in his pockets. "This place is very boring."
"It would be the first place I would look. Tamaki does have a lot of stories that happen in the cafeteria. Then I would look for the band room." Kaoru noted, they were all very aware of the stares they were receiving, and were very used to it. Being that they were all worth looking at. They heard whispers of their school being muttered, and other nice things. They turned a corner, and surprise, another long hallway.
"He's a band geek, too? Wow, he never ceases to surprise me." Hikaru chortled. Kaoru playfully hit him in the arm.
"He isn't in band, he just goes there to play the piano." The younger of the twins stated, he looked around, he was wondering if the band class was close by. Maybe he would spot Tamaki playing.
"The cafeteria is this way, but if it's Tamaki you're looking for, we know where he usually is." One of the girls said.
"Yeah, he's always in the band room, or at his student council meetings. There's one going on in 20 minutes." Another girl said. They all arrived to the cafeteria. Kaoru looked around, seeing very few people with blonde hair. At least it would narrow down their search. The cafeteria was bigger than their cafeteria, which was surprising, but unsurprising. Ouran did have 2 cafeterias. The cafeteria had multiple square tables scattered around, some pushed together to make a larger table for more people. It was unorganized, but it seemed to work for the students. There was a lounging area where it looked like just blocks of painted…seats.
"I don't see him." Kaoru said, he turned back, and Honey and Mori were walking towards them. Honey was first of the two to spot them and darted quickly to them. The taller simply quickened his long strides.
"Kao-chan! Hika-chan! Hi! What are you guys doing here?" Honey asked, giddy. His large smile was always contagious to everyone around him. "Hi, Haru-chan, and Kyoya!" He waved happily. Kyoya paid no attention to him.
"Hey, Honey-senpai." Haruhi waved back.
"We're looking for Tamaki, have you seen him?" Kaoru asked. Honey pressed a finger to his bottom lip, thinking very hard.
"Um… I think he might be at the council meeting, or the band room, or the art room. We were just in our math class, though!" He said. "I can take you to him." Honey skipped back to where they came from, the 4 Ouran students and Mori followed. "We'll check the band room first. There's a concert coming up soon, so he might be practising."
Kaoru noticed they were going back the way they came in. There was a door that opened to another hallway, with only 3 others doors leading into what he might think as classrooms. Honey opened the first door and motioned for them to be quiet. The sound of pianos playing could be heard. He can tell there were 2 pianos playing at the same time. They all crowded around the door, peeking in. Kaoru quickly spotted Tamaki playing, his fingers danced along the ivory keys. There was another person playing, a girl. He listened to the soft music. Kaoru could see another figure tapping away at a computer, the teacher, maybe.
"Wow, he's good." Hikaru said, the rest agreed. "They're both great." He added on. Kaoru smiled. He had to agree. Tamaki was…gorgeous. Kaoru can physically feel the passion in the music. There was a crescendo in the music, and then it stopped, and a few beats later, Tamaki ended it with soft notes. Seconds later, there were claps. Kaoru peered into the room and saw three other people grinning, and clapping. More students. Kyoya walked into the room and started clapping. The blonde looked over in surprise, and smiled.
"Wow, Tama-chan! That was better! You're going to do amazing at the concert!" Honey beamed, at him. Tamaki stood up and motioned for them all to come in.
"Thanks, Honey. What are you guys doing here? I didn't know you were coming in for a visit." Tamaki looked over at Kaoru, they eyes locked, and Kaoru suddenly felt very small. Tamaki enveloped Kaoru in a hug that lasted a lot longer than it should have, but that was okay. Tamaki gave Kaoru a small kiss on the cheek. He pulled back and quickly slipped his hand into Kaoru's. The girl who was playing with Tamaki stepped at his side.
"Are you still up to practice after school? And don't forget we have the meeting in 10 minutes." She asked, she was small, Kaoru noted. Maybe a few inches taller than Honey.
"Yeah, I'll be here." Tamaki said, and the girl nodded before she slipped out of the room. Tamaki smiled at Kaoru, squeezing his hand, "I didn't get a text or anything."
"We wanted it to be a surprise." Hikaru said, staring back at the girl who accompanied the duet with Tamaki. "Who was she, anyway?" The girl was now out of sight.
"She's one of my friends." Tamaki said, shrugging. "Anyways, come and meet my other friends." They all walked into the crowded room. It was a mess, desks line up on one side of the room with sheet music laying around. "This is Rena, Mako, and Sage." Rena seemed like a nice girl, she smiled and waved at the group. Mako greeted them with a smile, and Sage only nodded in their direction.
Rena had a cute pixie haircut, with a bow clipped in to take her hair out of her face. Mako had a short, spiky common hairstyle. One they've all seen on a thousand guys already. Sage was a different person, they all thought. His hair was slightly longer than normal, and there was a dark purple highlights in his hair. It was styled a bit bizarre, that of a porcupine, or a lion's mane; you can tell he was one of the 'alternative' kids. They've all donned the school uniform.
Haruhi waved hello to them. They were an unusual group of friends, but it seemed to work for them.
"Guys, this is Kaoru, Hikaru, Haruhi and Kyoya." Tamaki was finished introducing everyone. "Anyways, I'm glad that you guys are here to visit, but it's a busy day for me. I'm practicing, and then I'm going to plan for the concert." He gave a sympathetic smile.
"Eh, don't worry about it. We can head out now." Hikaru shrugged his shoulders. Kaoru gave Tamaki a quick hug before following after his friends.
"It was nice meeting you all." Kaoru waved to the blondes friends. "Text me later?" The young Hitachiin asked, a hopeful glint in his eyes.
"Even better, Kaoru, I'll call you." Tamaki promised. Kaoru lingered a moment, and Tamaki quickly caught on. Tamaki leaned down and pecked his boyfriend on his lips. "See ya later, Space Cadet."
Kaoru smiled and walked out of the room, seeing that his brother and friends were already out of the halls. They were waiting for him by the entrance. Haruhi was first to leave the school premises, and with 37 minutes to spare, they all decided to go buy some take-out for lunch.
"Commoner school isn't as disgusting as I thought." Hikaru declared. All but Haruhi agreed.
Good day/evening guys. We get a small glimpse of what Tamaki's school is like, and what kind of friends he has. I don't really want to go too deep within Tamaki's school life, but, if I must, then I will. I mainly want this story to revolve around Kaoru, ya'know? What he goes through, and what his Ouran friends and brother go through. What he and Tamaki go through... etc.
Okie dokie, then. Hope you guys enjoyed, remember: reviews are encouraged. :P
