'You excited about your first match?' Duke asked as we sat in the changing rooms, whilst some of the cheerleaders painted our faces with warrior paint.
'Duke, stop moving.' I said, as Kelly struggled to paint his face as he was moving side to side, being his usual fidgety self.
'Thanks Sebastian.' Kelly said, turning to me with a wink.
'You're welcome honey.' I winked back with the guys looking over at us, smiling at our interaction.
I was living down my name as Romeo, because I flirted with the cheerleaders constantly. I hadn't seen Olivia for a week, which was good but I missed her. I couldn't talk to the guys, like I talked to her. However most of all, I missed her kiss. I sighed.
'Are you alright Romeo?' Becki, the cheerleader painting my face asked.
'I'm fine, thanks.' I said, I looked in the mirror behind and felt that it was enough paint.
I held Becki's hand still, squeezed her fingers and then withdrew them from face; kissing her fingers cheekily and standing up.
'Ok, let's go.' I said, running on the spot. 'I'm pumped.'
'Alright, calm down.' Andrew said laughing as he joined me. 'Let's go.'
Andrew and I followed by the rest of the team burst from the changing room and ran onto the pitch, to the cries of the crowds cheering for the warriors. I made the mistake of scanning the crowds and my eyes then collided with hers. Before I could read too much into the look she was giving me, I looked away and concentrated on the game.
'We're going to win this.' Duke said, slapping my back. 'Then we can go to Cesario's for a celebration.'
'You bet man.' I said as I started to pass the ball back and forth.
'These guys are easy, we can beat them.' Toby said, as he joined in the exercise. 'It's Glenwood we should be worried about.'
As the whistle blew for the start of the match, we got into our positions and the game began. It was a slow start but Steve had managed to score a goal in the first 10 minutes. By the second half we were already up 3 to their 1. I laid back a little in the defence position as the guys went up front and kept the ball in the opponents half. I felt like someone was looking at me, so I looked back into the crowds and found that my eyes once again met with baby blues. I smiled softly and gave a small wave, which she returned in kind but there was something in her eyes that told me she was sad about something. I looked back at the game, and tried to concentrate. I would deal with whatever was wrong with Olivia later. Finally it came to the end of the match; we had beaten them easily with five goals to us with only one to them.
The cheerleaders ran onto the field, to congratulate us. Olivia ran from the bleachers to me and jumped into my arms. I laughed as I swung her about, and laid her back on her feet.
'It wasn't that much of a win.' I said, as Olivia danced on the spot.
'It was great.' Olivia said with a laugh, as she held out her hand which I took warmly. 'You were especially great.'
'Why, thank you my lady.' I said with a smile, I was glad Olivia no longer looked unhappy. 'Anyway go see Duke he was the man of the match.'
Olivia looked at me quizzically, but nodded with a smile. I looked over at Duke, as Olivia walked towards her. I winked at him and then looked at Olivia. He looked nervous as she approached him, but I gave him a smile and thumbs up to give him some confidence.
I watched them for a minute as Duke talked to Olivia. He seemed getting more confident as he talked, so I turned away with a smile to the changing rooms. Although inside I felt sort of jealous, I ignored the feeling.
