'Dude, are you coming to Cesario's?' Duke shouted down the phone, I winced.
'I don't know.' I said, lying back in my bed comfortably. 'I'm pretty tired.'
'Come on.' Duke shouted again over the noise of the restaurant. 'Everyone's wondering where you are. Also I need you to be my wing-man, Olivia's here and we're talking. It's going great.'
'If it's going great, why do you need me?' I wondered.
I didn't particularly want to see Olivia, I felt weird being around her and she was always looking at me in a way that I couldn't decipher. It made me very nervous.
'Sebastian if you don't come, I'm going to come back and drag you here.' Philip's voice shouted down the line. 'Understand?'
'Yes, Ok.' I sighed. 'I'm coming.'
When I arrived at Cesario's; the team and some girls were occupying one big table in the middle of the restaurant. As I entered, people shouted my name and whistled widely.
'You guys are crazy.' I said as I sat down next to Toby who was sitting on the other side of the table of Duke and Olivia, which was good for me. 'What you actually going to be like when we win a match against Glenwood?'
'Oh, we will be more than crazy.' Philip shouted, down the table.
I laughed but it was forced, I didn't particularly feel like being here. I wanted to be relaxed in my room, and as far as I could get from her.
'Hey Sebastian.' A gentle voice said next to my ear.
I knew it was Olivia before I turned around and looked at those baby blue eyes which had haunted my dreams for the past few weeks. I smiled weakly and nodded, thinking that would suffice for a greeting but she placed a soft hand on my shoulder.
'Are you ignoring me?' She whispered in my ear, I closed my eyes as I controlled myself – she was way too close.
'No, of course not.' I said with a smile.
'Can we go talk somewhere?' Olivia asked, I nodded and we walked out of Cesario's.
Before we walked out, I turned and saw most of the guys staring at me but the eyes that I caught we Duke's we looked confused but I gave him a grin and a thumbs up, which seemed to satisfy him.
'So you and Duke?' I said, smiling widely. 'That's great!'
'What?' Olivia asked confused. 'Sebastian, I'm not dating Duke.'
'You guys looked good together.' I said, trying to be excited for Olivia. 'Are you sure you're not dating.'
I winked at her, but she just shook her head and looked very confused. Olivia sighed, and ran her hands through her hair; I thought how sexy it was when she did that. I walled those kind of thoughts away but the obstacle wasn't big enough, I couldn't stop thinking about her.
'You've been avoiding me.' Olivia whispered as she sat down on the low wall behind her and she looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes that I could easily drown in.
'I haven't, just been really busy with-'
'Soccer, yeah.' Olivia then pulled me towards her so we were just a few centimetres away from her. 'What happened?'
'What do you mean?' I said, trying to control myself as I could now smell her perfume.
'Have you seriously forgotten?' Olivia asked incredulously as she clutched my jacket tighter.
'That was a mistake.' As soon as the words were out of my mouth I regretted them, Olivia looked like she'd been slapped and then she got angry, pushing me away from her. 'You should be with Duke. He really likes you.'
'What about what happened at the party?' Olivia said, looking confused and hurt.
'I was drunk. I was really not thinking straight.' I mumbled, it was a pathetic excuse but couldn't exactly tell her the truth. 'Olivia, I'm sorry-'
Olivia pushed past me roughly, walking away. I saw the tears in her eyes, and it killed me that it was my fault that she was so upset.
'Olivia stop.' I shouted, running after her.
'Sebastian, please leave me alone.' Olivia said, stopping and holding her hand up when I came close to her. 'Stay there.'
'I'm sorry.' I whispered helplessly, but her eyes wouldn't meet mine.
'You've said that.' Olivia scorned, she then looked at me.
I felt like I'd been stabbed in the gut, her eyes were icy blue and I could see the hurt. I had put the hurt there… worst of all I had no idea how to take it away.
'I'm going home.' Olivia said, turning away from me.
'Olivia, you can't walk back to campus alone.' I said before she stormed off again.
'Go away, Sebastian.' Olivia said angrily, without looking back.
'At least get a taxi.' I saw one and quickly flagged it down. 'Olivia. Please.'
Olivia stopped and turned around slowly but she didn't meet my eyes and got into the taxi quickly. Before I could say anything, the taxi sped off into the night.
