"Olivia, you will never guess what I saw." Maria started when she suddenly burst into the room, looking at her phone, Olivia jumped up and I dove under the cover with my wig in hand.

"What is going?" Maria asked, she must have noticed my feet sticking out from the edge of the bed. "Is that Sebastian?"

"Yes, we, um, we made up." Olivia said quickly.

"I can tell." Maria whispered with a chuckle.

"Maria, could we, have the room to ourselves." Olivia asked.

I moved slowly, fixing my wig but it was near impossible and slow work to tuck my hair back.

"Sure." Maria said. "I'll see you tomorrow. Sebastian, just know I'm going to grill into you tomorrow, for what you did to Olivia."

Then she was gone. I slowly withdrew from the bed, taking my askew wig back off. Olivia was sat at her desk, staring at me.

"You have beautiful hair." Olivia said softly, she began to look at me up and down. "You're really beautiful. I can't believe I didn't it, your way too beautiful for a boy."

"Thanks, I think." I said with a smirk, I felt myself blushing at her compliments. "You know your beautiful too, I mean, if I haven't told you enough then I've been holding back."

"Are you gonna keep playing soccer?" Olivia asked, effectively changing the subject.

"I have to stay here until my brothers back, which will be after the Cornwall game." I said.

"That's in a few weeks time, isn't it?" Olivia pondered.

"Yep." I answered. "Olivia, don't change the topic."

"Maria thinks we're back together." Olivia stated absentmindedly. "I'm willing to pretend until you leave, that way no one will suspect anything."

"Liv," I said uncertainly, when I said her name, she seemed pained. "Are we not going to talk about this? Us?"

"There is nothing to talk about." Olivia said rigidly. "I'm helping you out on your little mission and the only us is going to be pretend."

It felt like a punch in my stomach. She didn't love me. I was nothing to her. I felt, I didn't know how I felt. This was completely new territory to me.

"Bye Sebastian." Olivia said.

I looked into the mirror and fixed my wig, so it was firmly on. I turned to Olivia who was now holding the door open for me. I walked past her with no other word. Leaving that room, completely different then when I entered it.

I hardened myself against how Olivia made me feel. If she couldn't accept my apology then what was the point. It was meaningless for me to even try. I had been on cloud nine when I admitted to myself that I loved her but now I felt like I was trudging through the scum from the dregs of the loveless. I was so stupid! Love? It wasn't for me. What a waste of my fucking time. I wouldn't allow myself to make the same mistake again.
