A/N: Hello! I will post the next chapter today! I really want to write more. Also do you want me to go in order of the show? I will obviously have to change some things, but the main story line i will have.
Disclaimer: I don't own Fruits Basket.
The week before New Year's is always busy here, Haru thought. He stood against the wall of his home and watched family members and servants busy themselves hanging up decorations and such. But actually New Year's was only two days away. Haru always sort of looked forward to the holiday. True he was able to see most of his family members, but then again it was all a reminder of this huge curse that bound them.
"Haru," Haru looked up to see Hatori walking towards them.
"Hey Hatori," Haru replied nonchalantly.
"I'm going to Shigure's house to see how they are, care to come?"
"I'd love to come Hari!" the voice of Aya rang out as he stood behind Hatori.
"I figured you would," Hatori sighed and looked once again at Hatsuharu.
"Nah, I'll pass," Haru said just as Kisa came and pulled him silently away.
Meanwhile at Shigure's the holiday was somewhere in everyone's minds. "Yuki?"
"Yes Miss Honda?" the princely Sohma looked up from his work at the girl.
"I was wondering if there's anything that I shouldn't do when I'm there at the main house," of all the people Tohru seemed the most nervous, outwardly at least.
"Just act polite, don't worry you'll be fine," Yuki smiled at the girl.
"Yes Princess Tohru, no one could not like you!" Ayame's loud voice rang out as he appeared with Hatori following close behind.
"Don't you knock!" Yuki yelled.
"Oh I let them in Yuki," Shigure came around and he and Aya went into whatever it is they do.
"Oh, Ayame, Hatori would you care for some tea?" Tohru asked her guests.
"No thank your Tohru," Hatori told her politely.
A loud thud brought their attention outside and they saw Kyo laying against the house. A moment later Teresa came down her raven wings open around her. "You really ought to watch for that kick, Kyo," she thrust her hand to help him up.
"Yeah-Yeah, I would've had you though!"
Teresa chuckled as her wings disintegrated, "Maybe."
As the two came inside they immediately saw their guests, "Teresa. that was lovely absolutely lovely!" he placed an arm around her shoulders and everyone saw Teresa visibly tense.
She wriggled her way out from under him as he commented again, "Kyo Kyo, you ought to try a little herder though."
"Don't call me that!" Kyo yelled and stalked away like the hurt cat he was.
Teresa sat down next to Tohru and idly played with her ring. "I can't wait for the banquet!" Ayame exclaimed.
"Only because it's your turn to do the dance this year," Yuki said referring to the zodiac dance.
"Oh, Ayame, you're doing the dance this year?" Tohru asked.
"Yes I am! I can't wait!"
Teresa sighed and excused herself to her room.
"Now why is she so glum?" Ayame asked.
Tohru and Yuki left at this time presumably to go to the store.
"Teresa has a lot to prepare for this year, after all she hasn't been to one of these since she was eight or something," Shigure stated.
"Yes, and we don't know how Akito treats her," Hatori said.
"Still I think she should have some fun and not ruin it for everyone else," Ayame said determinedly.
The next two days passed quickly and the gang was looking straight into New Year's. "I think we should get some New Year's cakes and have them before we go!" Tohru exclaimed.
"That sounds like a great idea Miss Honda," Yuki smiled at her.
"Ok! Kyo, Teresa does that sound ok with you?" she asked the other two Sohmas at the table.
"Yeah, whatever," Kyo replied. Teresa was staring at the table off in space until Kyo snapped his fingers in her face.
"Kyo!" she looked him in the eye.
"You were off, and Tohru asked you a question idiot."
"Oh. I'm sorry Tohru what is it?" she smiled lightly at the girl.
"Would you like to have some New Year's cakes before we all leave?"
"Sure, that sounds fine."
Teresa went upstairs and looked at her reelection in the mirror; she had a lot to do before she left today.
