Chapter 4

Jen's POV
I placed the car in park in front of an old friends house.
"Where are we?" Angel asks from the backseat.
"A friend of mine lives here," I answered, getting out the drivers seat. "He can help us."
"He?" Bobby questions, as we walk up the stairs
I roll my eyes before knocking on the door. Seconds later, the door opened and there he was. Brian is a friend I met a few years ago. You can say he's a hacker and can pretty much get into anything he wants; especially security cameras all around the city.
"Hey Jen," He greets, leaning in to hug me.
"Hey Hun." I embraced his body against mine.
I could hear Bobby clear his throat behind me. I pulled away. "This is Bobby-"
"Her husband," He interrupts.
"And we're her brothers-in-law." Angel chimes in.
I turn to give Bobby a confused look, and Brian just raises his eyebrow.
"You just gonna stand there or are you gonna invite us in?" Bobby asks.
"Yeah, come on in." Brian said, moving away from the front door.
Bobby goes to walk forward before I place my hand on his chest. He looks down at me as his brothers walk by
"Cut the shit." I whispered.
"I'm not doing anything." He responds.
"He's just a friend and he can help get our baby back."
"We'll see." He said, before trying to move from in front of me.
I pull his face close to mine and pressed my lips against his. "We're gonna get our daughter back."
He nods before walking past me. I follow and close the door behind me.
"So what brings you guys here?" Brian ask.
"Can still get into the city camera footage from days ago?" I ask.
"Yeah, why?"
"Our daughter was taken a few days ago and I might have an idea who did it." I explained. "We just need footage from one of the parks."
Brian looks at me then the mercer brothers then back at me. "Which park?"
I grinned then told him the park along with the time frame and the day. He directed us to his set of computers in the next room.
"So you just sit here and stalk the entire city of Detroit all day?" Angel asks.
"I have a regular nine to five job and a life. This is just something I do from time to time." He answers.
"Well excuse me..."
I shake my head and stare at the monitor.
"This should be around the time you saw the guy." Brian said.
"You're probably not gonna see him. There were many people at the park that day."
"Jack might be right, Jen." Bobby said.
I continue to look at the footage. That's when I noticed the man I looking for. "Pause it." I said.
Brian pressed one of the keys.
"Rewind it, just a little bit." I said, hoping to get a better look at his face.
Brian slowly began to rewind the footage.
"Stop! That's the guy!" I said, pointing to the screen.
"You sure?" Jack asks.
"Yes. His hat has VS on it." I said.
Bobby looked at the monitor, then his expression changes. I'll ask him about it later.
"I've never seen him before." Angel said.
"Think we can ask around?" I asked.
"Doesn't hurt to try." Jack shrugged.

I sat outside on the steps with a cigarette lit in hand. I haven't smoked in almost 4 years but honestly I need one. I can say going to Brian's gave me a sense of hope that we will find Jasmine.
The door opens behind me. "When did you start smoking again?" Bobby ask.
"Ever since Jasmine was taken." I answered, making room for him on the step. "I haven't slept or really eaten since that day either.
He slowly takes a seat next to me and takes the cigarette from my hand. He takes a drag of it then let's it rest between his thumb and index finger. He places his arm around me and pulls me in. I could feel his lips press against my forehead. "We'll bring her home real soon and the jackass who took her will be six feet under."
"Bobby?"
"Yeah?"
"Earlier when we found the guy on camera, you made a face. You looked at the monitor and your entire expression just changed."
We say there in silence a few minutes until I finally heard a sigh. "The day Jasmine was born, he stopped by your room. He said something about getting revenge."
"And you're just now telling me?!" I said, pulling away from his grasp.
"Jen-"
"This entire time I'm blaming myself for not telling you when I first saw him. I'm thinking that I'm the reason she was taken. You've known about him for almost four years and didn't tell me."
"Jen I was gonna tell you..."
"When? When he finally fell through with his word? Who knows how long he's he's been watching us! I could've kept a better eye on her and been more protective!"
"Jen-"
I finally stood up, "I don't want to hear anything you have to say! So I would appreciate it if you would just fuck off!" I said, before walking in the house.
I headed straight upstairs to Bobby and I's room. I slammed the door shut and sat at the edge of the bed. I look at the floor and I see my purse with the envelope that Brian gave me. I let out a sigh and pull the envelope out.
I let out one last sigh before opening the big envelope. I pulled the papers out to see they're pictures. I could feel the tears slowly building up in my eyes. There in the pictures was Bobby holding a woman's hand and one of the two kissing.
I've had suspicions for a while now and I asked Brian to investigate. Bobby is cheating on me. So many emotions are running through me. I don't know whether to cry or find this bitch and fuck her up.
The bedroom door opens and there's Bobby.
"You piece of shit." I said, throwing the candid pictures at his chest.
I quickly got off the bed and went into our closet. I grabbed the closest duffle bag I could find. I began to grab a few of my clothes.
"Jen, let me explain." He said.
"Fuck you." I said, making my way towards the dresser.
I feel Bobby grab my arm, and I turn around to slap him in the face. The tears were flowing down my cheeks.
"What? You go out with her then come home to play family man? I'm at home with our daughter while you're out with some bitch."
"Not like you were doing anything."
"Excuse me?"
"A man has needs, Jen! Whenever I would suggest sex, you would shoot it down automatically because you're too tired or Jasmine was sleeping in our bed. She fulfills the needs that you can't, Jen."
My jaw completely tightened. His words hitting me like knives. My tears are coming faster than I can control. I sigh and reach for the ring on my finger. Bobby gave it to me months after our daughter was born. It was my engagement ring."We will no longer be a bother to your needs anymore." I said, tossing the ring on the bed. I grab my bag along with my purse. I open the door to see Angel, Jack and Soph standing there.
"We were just going to the bathroom." Angel said,
I turn to look back at Bobby. "I'll be back for me and Jasmine's things in a few days." I said, before walking down stairs and out the house.

I sat in the bath tub of the hotel I'm staying in. My daughter missing, Bobby was and probably is still cheating on me. What the hell did I do to deserve this. I take another gulp of Jack Daniels from the bottle.
"Jen, I'm very disappointed in you." The sound of Evelyn's voice rings in my ear. I turn to see her sitting on the toilet seat. Maybe it's the Jack talking. "Drinking the pain away isn't gonna help."
"It's helping me get through the night ." I said, taking another sip of my beverage.
"You're a strong woman, Jen. I know you can get through this without liquor courage." Evelyn said.
"Honestly I don't know how. Everything that gave me a reason to get up in the morning was just snatched from me. Bobby is satisfied with another bitch and Jasmine is probably scared out of her mind with the motherfucker who took her. I'm helpless right now. The fact that I'm talking to you right now has shown that I've lost it."
"It will all work out and I can assure you, Jasmine will return home where she belongs." Then she disappeared. I glanced down and the tears began to surface once more.
I hope she's right...

So there you guys have it. I honestly didn't plan for all of this to happen all at once but I kinda like it. I know it's a little scattered but overall I'm happy with it. I know you guys are probably happy I finally updated after almost a year. I'm completely taking this off Hiatus and I'm gonna try to update it as much as I can. Can't wait to hear your feedback!
