A/N: I don't own Twilight.

Chapter 8:

EPOV:

I was woken up on Monday to my alarm clock ringing, a noise I despised. I rolled over and noticed that the alarm did not wake my sleeping wife. I guess I shouldn't be surprised; she was always a very heavy sleeper. I leaned over and gave her a sweet kiss on the lips. Her eyes started to flutter and she let out the biggest yawn I had ever heard.

"Good morning, love" I said, helping her sit up.

"I'm so tired, I couldn't get comfortable last night." She said looking pitifully up at me.

"I'm sorry love, but we have work today."

"I know. I might just give my students busy work today."

"You should be going on maternity leave soon, so you just need to last until May." I said lovingly.

"But that's two and a half months away." She pouted.

"You can make it, love." I said helping her stand up.

"I'm going to take a shower." She said turning for the bathroom.

"While you're in the shower I'll get breakfast."

I gave her one last peck on the check before we headed our separate ways. As I was walking down the stairs I stopped to admire our wedding pictures. It seemed like only yesterday I was the nervous wreck, pacing back and forth, I remember that day two years ago. I wouldn't change it for the world though; that day is perfect. My Bella looked so beautiful that day.

Once I had made my way down memory lane, I continued my way into the kitchen. I went over to the refrigerator and got out a carton of eggs. Luckily there were just enough eggs to make Bella an omelet. It seems like we have spent over $500 in eggs over the length of Bella's pregnancy. She ate them like they were going out of style.

I had finally gotten everything ready and on the table by the time Bella walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"It smells amazing in here" Bella said sitting down at the breakfast bar.

"Well, I am the man who fixed it." I said, giving her a smirk.

She snorted and playfully hit my shoulder.

"I think I'm just going to head up-stairs and get ready."

She nodded and continued to eat her omelet. I just laughed and went to go get ready.

By the time I had finished getting ready and went back downstairs, Bella was ready to head out the door to go to work. I helped her slip into her coat, like the gentleman I am, and we were out the door and on way to the school.

When I pulled up into our parking space, I got out of the car and went to go help Bella out. She was finding it harder and harder to get out by herself as of late. And as I was helping her out of the car she of course started to blush. I just chuckled and kissed her hot check.

"This is always my least favorite part of my day." Bella said, looking up at me.

I pulled her to me for a hug and said, "I'll see you for lunch, I promise."

She nodded into my chest and went into her classroom.

BPOV:

I am starting to hate coming to work. I used to love coming in and teaching kids the art that is English. Now, I just feel so exhausted and I miss Edward the whole time. I should probably tell Edward that I would like to just quit my job before my maternity leave. That would make my day a lot easier.

I didn't have much more time to have myself a little pity party before my students started to arrive for class.

When everyone has arrived I told them to read whatever they wanted to read. I did not want to do anything today. So for pretty much the whole day I sat on my computer and looked at baby clothes. I ordered at least $300 worth of stuff from Baby Gap, Edward will not be too happy about that.

Finally the bell rang for lunch and Edward was at my door waiting for me.

We walked to the teacher's lounge hand-in-hand and sat down to enjoy time with each other.

"Edward?"

"Yes, love?" He said, looking up while getting his lunch together.

"Well, I was just thinking that maybe I could go ahead and quit my job." I said nervously, looking anywhere but in his eyes.

"Are you sure?" He said, bringing his hand up to hold mine over the table.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I mean, I would just have to do it later on, so I could stay home with Monroe."

"If that's what you want to do." He said.

"I think that's what will be best."

"I'll really miss spending my lunch time with you." Edward said, looking kind of sad.

"I know you will, but I won't be as tired at the end of the day. We could spend more time together." I said, giving him a knowing look.

He immediately perked up at the thought of that. I just laughed and we finished eating lunch together.

When we both were finished, Edward walked me back to my room and said he would be back when school let out.

As soon as I sat down at my desk, I started typing my letter of resignation to hand in at the end of the day. I didn't even notice that my students had walked in until one of them asked me if they could go to the bathroom. I guess I'm starting to get that pregnancy attention span everyone keeps talking about.

I was still writing my letter when someone wrapped their arms around me. I immediately knew it was Edward and leaned into his embrace.

"Are you ready to leave love?" Edward said, while kissing my neck.

"Almost, I just need to print out this letter and give it to Mr. Williams." I said getting up to go to the printer in the corner of my room.

Edward and I walked down to the office hand-in-hand. When we got there, we went over to Mr. Williams's door; I knocked timidly.

"Come in" He said gruffly.

Edward pushed the door open and we both stepped inside.

"I just wanted to give this to you before we left today." I said, setting the letter on his desk.

He glanced at what I had just put on his desk and his head shot up to look at me.

"What's this?" He asked, a little angry.

"It's my letter of resignation." I said.

"Well, I can see that."

Edward squeezed my hand reassuringly.

"I just thought it would be better to do it now. I mean, I would be doing this in a few months from now." I explained.

"You're the best English teacher we have." Mr. Williams said.

"I'm sorry Mr. Williams, but I need to stay home with my son." I said, rubbing my stomach.

"I understand, but I really hate seeing you leave." Mr. Williams said.

I nodded my head and Edward and I left his office.

"That was a lot easier than I thought it would be." I said to Edward.

"He could've been nicer." Edward said, helping me into the Volvo.

"What would you like to have for dinner?" I asked Edward.

"Why don't we pick up some Chinese food?"

"That sounds amazing. I've been craving egg rolls." I said to Edward.

We stopped by The Great Wall and Edward went inside to pick up our beef lo mien. We drove back home and as soon as I got through the door I collapsed on the couch.

"Tired, love?" Edward asked, chuckling.

"You don't even know the half of it." I said.

Edward went into the kitchen and came back out with our food and our drinks. I dug right into the egg rolls.

"So what will you do tomorrow with your day off?" Edward asked, while pouring soy sauce over his plate.

"I have no idea. I might organize some of Monroe's clothes." I said, wiping of my mouth.

"Maybe after I get off from work we could go shopping for more stuff." Edward suggested.

"He's going to have more stuff than the royal baby." I said, looking over at Edward.

"Very true, but there is no such thing as too much stuff for my son." Edward said, leaning down to plant a kiss on my swollen stomach.

As soon as Edward's lips touched my stomach, the baby started to kick wildly. He always did when his daddy would talk or sing to him. Monroe always knew when Edward was around; he already loved his daddy.

Soon after we finished eating, Edward and I went up to our room to watch a movie. It was Edward's turn to pick what movie we watched; he picked Horrible Bosses. Edward always loved comedies.

"I'm going to get ready for bed." I told Edward, walking into the bathroom.

"Ok, I'll be out here, love."

I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I took out my contacts and put on my glasses. Then I put on one of Edward's t-shirts and went to join him in the bed.

"Love, you know what you do to me when you wear your glasses." Edward said, peppering kisses along my neck.

"Edward I'm just too tired. I'm sorry." I said, giving him a kiss.

"That's ok love. I understand, maybe tomorrow night." He said, leaning back onto the bed.

I lay down next to him and he automatically brought me to his chest. I snuggled up to him and soon fell asleep.

EPOV:

I woke up the next morning and Bella was nestled under my arm, against my chest. I tried to gently pry Bella off of me, so I wouldn't wake her. Luckily, she didn't wake up and I went to go get ready for the day.

After I hopped out of the shower and got dressed Bella was still asleep, so I quickly left her a note and went downstairs to make her some breakfast.

I chopped Bella up some fruit and left it in the fridge. Hopefully she wouldn't be too hungry this morning.

BPOV:

I woke up and turned to look at the alarm clock and it was already eleven in the morning. I turned back over and felt a piece of paper crinkle underneath me. I pulled it out from behind my back and opened it up.

Bella,

I didn't want to wake you up this morning, you looked so peaceful. I chopped up some fruit and put it in the fridge for when you woke up. I'll see you when I get off this afternoon. We can go shopping if you wish.

Yours forever,

Edward

It always surprised me how elegant Edward's script was; it was truly remarkable. I yanked the comforter off of me and went to go take a shower. After I was done with my shower I went to the closet to get dressed. I really didn't feel like getting too dolled up today, so I just put on a pair of dark wash jeans and a comfy shirt with John Lennon on it.

I made the bed and walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. I took the fruit Edward prepared for me out of the fridge and went over to the bar to eat it. This was the life. Not having to work is absolutely fantastic. I don't see why I didn't do this earlier.

After I finished eating I went back up-stairs to organize some of Monroe's clothes. I walked into the nursery and sat down in the chair so I could start folding all the clothes.

I hadn't realized how small some of the clothes were; he is really going to be tiny.

I had forgotten how cute some of the clothes were that we bought for him. All of the little cardigans and little dress shirts. I can't wait for him to get here; these next three months can't get here fast enough.

By the time I had finished folding and putting all the clothes away, Edward would be home.

I walked down the stairs just in time to see Edward walk in the front door.

"Hey, love. How was your day?" He asked, pulling me into a hug.

"It was good, would've been better if you were here with me." I said leaning up to give him a kiss.

"What did you do to keep yourself occupied?" He asked, pulling us both over to the couch to sit down.

"Well, I didn't wake up until eleven. Then I eat my breakfast and went to organize Monroe's clothes."

"Did you want to go shopping tonight?" He asked, rubbing my belly.

"Yeah, why not. We can pick some more maternity clothes up and maybe some more clothes for Monroe." I said, trying to stand up, but failing miserably.

Edward chuckled and helped me get up. We headed out the door and into the Volvo.

"Where do you want to go first, love?" Edward asked.

"Let's go to Target; I could spend hours in there."

We drove through town and parked in the target parking lot. Edward, of course, had to help me out of the car and we headed inside.

We went straight to the baby section and started browsing through all the cute clothes.

"What do you think of this?" Edward asked, holding up a blue onesie that said 'Daddy's Little Champ' on it.

"It's adorable." I said, putting it into our cart.

"Hey, I'm just going to go to the bathroom real quick; I'll be right back." Edward said, kissing my check before leaving.

I nodded and continued looking at some of the bottles and nursing equipment. I picked up a breast pump so Edward could help out with late night feedings.

Edward soon came back from his bathroom trip, but right behind him was the last person I wanted to see.

"Bella Swan? Is that you?" Jessica Stanley's nasally voice asked.

Edward immediately tightened his hold around my waist.

"Um, it's Cullen actually." I said, her eyes automatically flashed to my ring finger and Edward's hold on my waist.

"Oh, I didn't realize you guys were married." She said, in an obnoxious voice.

"Yes, two years actually." I said, trying my hardest not to bitch slap her.

"Well, those two years certainly haven't been kind to you." She sneered, gesturing at my stomach.

I looked up at Edward and my eyes began to tear up.

"If you honestly can't tell that my beautiful is pregnant, you really must be a special kind of stupid. Look at her she is glowing and her stomach is perfectly rounded. You're just jealous that I think Bella is way more attractive than you could ever dream of being. So, why don't you march your nasty self out of this store and away from my family."

Jessica huffed and quickly walked away from Edward and me.

I looked up at him and said, "You really think all those things?"

"Of course I do. You're the most beautiful woman in the world." He said, grabbing my hand.

"Come on let's check-out and go home." He said, pulling me to the check-out.

Once we had all of our bags loaded into the car, we drove back home.

We walked into the house and Edward put the bags into the nursery. We continued to walk into our room and I went straight to the bed and laid down. Edward soon came and joined me on the bed.

"You truly are beautiful; you know that right?" He said stroking my cheek.

"Show me." I said.

And he did show me. All night long.
