Edward's POV ~ One Month Later
It was a gorgeous morning, the sun was shining bright and it was a glorious month of March. The flowers in Bella's garden were beginning to grow again and when we left the windows open, the house would smell as beautiful as fresh rain. Bella slept next to me, her beautiful fair skin glowed in the sunlight. Her smooth, uninterrupted breathing was as serene as silk. I had woken early, but I wasn't upset or tired. Well I was tired, but Bella was a better sight than the black emptiness behind my eyelids.
All this peace of this morning was immediately turned into worry when I heard Bella groan, slowly lifting her hand to her mouth, covering it before her eyes shot open and she flew from my arms into the bathroom. And I was immediately after her, holding her hair back from her face. Violently she spilled the contents of our dinner last night out. It was painful to hear and see.
This had been going on for three days and we had a doctor appointment to see about this. Her and I were worried, thinking something may be seriously wrong. "Bella?" I asked after she had calmed and began breathing normally again.
"I'm... I'm sorry." She breathed.
"Why are you sorry?"
"I know that this is making you worry about me and I'm sorry." I chuckled, helping her off of the ground after she flushed the toilet.
"There is nothing for you to be sorry about. How about we lay back down." I suggested, wetting a wash cloth with cold water before we headed out. I helped her onto the bed and folded the wash cloth, placing it on her forehead. "Now, We have to be there shortly. But until we leave do you want any water?" She nodded.
"Water sounds nice." Getting up I began thinking of all the possibilities. But nothing seemed to fit. Soon it was time to leave. I drove to the doctor's office. I helped her sit before walking towards the receptionist.
"Hello. How can I help you?" The nurse asked.
"Hello, ma'am. I'm Edward Cullen. My wife Isabella Cullen has an appointment with Dr. Simons." She blinked weird at me which I ignored.
"Ok... One moment. Ok. Isabella Cullen correct?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Ok. The doctor will be out shortly to see you both. Please have a seat." I nodded her a thank you, making my way to sit next to Bella. When I set down I found her flipping threw a magazine. It was a parents magazine with a bunch of baby pictures and the popular names of the year for babies. I glanced at the page, seeing the popular names.
Popular Girl Names of the Year:
Christina
Becca
Samantha
Jessica
Brie
Emilia
Sophia
Popular Boy Names of the Year:
Colin
Scott
Nathan
James
Troy
Conner
Tedd
I smiled and looked at Bella as she looked towards me. "You know Edward, when the time comes that we finally do have a baby, I don't want to give them a popular name. I want their names to be completely unique." I nodded.
"I agree. I want them to be as unique as they can possibly be." I leaned forward and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek when a nurse came out.
"Isabella?" I got up and helped Bella up with a gestured hand as we began walking back towards the room. "Hello guys. So, Mrs. Cullen..." She trailed as we got into the room and Bella sat on the bed while I stood, holding her hand. "The doctor will be in with you shortly." And correct she was. It was only five minutes after she left that the doctor came in, smiling.
"Hello Bella!" She said happily. "How have you been?"
"Not to well actually. I've been feeling kind of ill."
"Oh yeah? Could you please describe your symptoms for me?" She asked as he began to listen to her heartbeat with her stethoscope.
"Well, I've been throwing up the last three days and my stomach has been cramping some." She nodded.
"Ok, well we will run a couple tests so see what it is. Those might take a little while so you can relax after we do the tests. Would you like a bottle of water?"
"Oh Yes please!" Dr. Simons laughed, bringing her a water. Then she began running the tests. A flu test, and a couple other ones. While we were sitting here, I noticed that Bella had brought in the same magazine. I looked at what she was reading again to see just a bunch of photos of babies. I could picture it now. Bella and I in a delivery room, the baby had been born, and she was holding the sweet little girl in her arms. Of course I didn't know if it would be a girl for our first baby someday, but I had a good feeling. I've always wanted a daughter. A sweet little girl I could call my own.
I smiled to myself. "You daydreaming?" Bella asked sweetly, cupping her hand to my cheek. I chuckled.
"Yeah, sorry."
"Nothing to apologize for. What were-" Just then the door opened and our doctor walked in with a smile on her face.
"Well Mrs. Cullen. We have some very good news!" She squealed.
"What?" We both asked.
"Well... Mrs. Cullen, from the test results it turns out that what you were feeling are symptoms of pregnancy." Both of us gasped and looked at each other immediately. "Congratulations!" I then immediately swept Bella into my arms and kissed her passionately for a moment before pulling her into a loving embrace. On the way home we just sat there, smiling, Bella was smiling, her hand peacefully resting on her stomach. This day was a miracle. Before leaving we had received a couple copies of our babies first picture.
When we returned home we decided to have everyone over for dinner to tell them the great news. My brothers, my parents, Bella's father, Bella's brothers, Bella's Cousin's Seth and Leah, her aunt, Sue, and Bella's friends Rosalie, and Alice. When we got home, I couldn't help but to be lovey-dovey. In fact as soon as we made it over the threshold of our home I had swept her into my arms and carried her to the couch, kissing her, laying her on her back, and me, holding myself over her as we made out, running our fingers threw each other's hair and skin, happier than ever.
It wasn't long before we invited everyone over. Bella and I decided on ordering pizza, mostly because that's what her stomach was hungry for, might as well give the baby what it craves. Baby? My Baby. Our Baby. I smiled as I set everything up with Bella.
This is when everyone arrived, happy to see as, as we were happy to see them. "Oh my gosh, you look so much better Bella! But you still don't look so good. How are you? I've missed you! You're going to have to go shopping with me again sometime." Alice squealed, making us all laugh.
"So... Bells, what's this I hear about you being ill?" Charlie asked, getting everyone's attention.
"Wait.. you were sick?" Jacob asked. "Why didn't you tell us?" Bella looked at me, a smile on her lips.
"Well, I was going to tell you tonight, might as well tell you now." She paused and took a breath. "Well... Edward and I went to the doctors today for me being sick. When I gave her all my symptoms she had me do a bunch of tests. And.. well we got ourselves quite the surprise." She paused.
"What? What was the surprise?" My mother asked.
"Well... we found out that..." Bella spaced it out, playfully being dramatic.
"What was it?" Sam asked, getting excited.
"Well... I'm six weeks pregnant." ...
