For the 2nd trimester information I looked up "Second Trimester Pregnancy Symptoms" on the website entitled mayoclinic.
Bella's POV
As of today it was the beginning of my second month of my pregnancy. The magic within me, the magical emotion I felt at this point in my life was more than any natural high could give me. I had the man I've always dreamed of and on top of that I am carrying his growing child. Our little offspring. Our baby. The word baby held a sentimental emotion for me. I was going to be a... Mother, and Edward was going to be a father, he was going to be the best father on the planet. I had woken up earlier than Edward today, and no matter how much I would have loved to lay there and watch him sleep I had to shower.
The showers warm water washed over me, making me feel pure and clean once again. Edward and I couldn't be happier. This baby was a blessing to us both. As I began to lather the shampoo into my hair, I felt two very familiar hands grab onto my waist from behind. I also felt very familiar, and very wanted lips touch themselves to my temple. "Good Morning my love." He said, slowly rubbing his hands up and down my body. "May I wash your back?" Without hesitation I nodded and he grabbed a sponge, lathered it with soap before brushing my skin with the amazingly soft fabric. "So, are you excited for your very first ultrasound?"
"Very. I'm excited to see our one-celled organism." He chuckled as he helped me rinse out my hair. After my hair was done he was about to put some of his old spice hair and body wash in his hand, but I quickly took it out of his hand and began lathering it into his hair. A pur came from him, it felt great soaping someone else. After I finished, I grabbed his shoulders and leaned him back to rinse out the suds. After I finished with that, Edward turned off the shower and swept me into his arms, setting me on the counter, and began drying me hair for me. "Thank you Edward. This is quite sweet of you."
"Well get used to it, I think that from now on, until our baby is born and after he or she grows up some, we should bathe together. I love for close it makes us." I hummed, swinging my feet back and forth and grabbed another towel, drying his hair. "So, are you ready to get changed now?" With haste I nodded and went to hop off of the counter, but Edward wasn't having any of that. He carried me to my wardrobe and carefully set me down on the floor, leaving a kiss on my cheek. Since it was a nice spring day I decided to wear my white eyelet lace under my black tank top that had white skulls and stars on it and I wore a pair of black jeans.
After the both of us were ready we left and got there within twenty minutes. And they called me back, doing this appointment today would be my scheduled practitioner Dr. Gray. "Hello Bella, how are you today?"
"I am pretty great. A little nauseous, but other than that I am great." Dy. Gray smiled as she wheeled in a large machine on wheels that had wand sensors and what looked like a computer of some sort.
"That's great Bella. So, today to start off I'm going to ask you some questions, then we will get this ultrasound on the road."
"Sounds good."
"Ok... so Bella, Are you menstrual cycles pretty regular, and on average how long do they last?" I blushed.
"Well yeah, they are usually very regular and usually last six days." Dr. Gray nodded as she wrote down what I said.
"Ok, can you remember when was the last time you had your period. If you can remember we can estimate when you might be due."
"Um... I think it was two months and eleven days ago... so that would be March 13th."
"Ok, so from that given information... I can estimate that you could be due late December or Early January." I smiled and looked at Edward. "Who knows, your baby could end up being that baby of the new year this year." I couldn't wipe the smile from my face.
"Is there anything you take or so you smoke? These things could potentially cause a problem during pregnancy."
"No. I don't take anything and I don't smoke whatsoever."
"Good Good." She put down her clip board after asking me a couple more questions. "So, shall we begin this ultrasound?" She cheered in a quiet voice. After turning on the machine she pulled out this blue gel to smear on my still flat stomach. This gel was so cold that it made me shiver. After smearing it she got her wand sensor and began to move it around my stomach and it wasn't to long before we gan hearing a thump.. thump.. thump.. thump.. thump.. thump.. I looked at Dr. Gray.
"Can we see the screen?"
"Of course." She turned the machine and with her other hand used a pointer, "Ok, so you see that flickering white mass?"
"Yes."
"Well, that is your growing baby." She squealed, smiling, really excited, I watched the screen with fascination. Seeing this made this even more real to me, I was creating a little being inside of me. It's heart was beating, it was growing. It was a miracle. I looked towards Edward to see a huge smile on his face.
"I can't wait to meet her." He said, smirking at me when he said, "her."
"Well I can't wait to meet him." We laughed together after Dr. Gray asked for our attention as she began wiping off the gel, but not before asking if we wanted a photo of the ultrasound. Of course we said yes. And as soon as we made it home, we put it away in a "Our First Baby" book that Alice had bought for me the other day.
As soon as we got home, I made my way towards the fridge. My craving for my favorite sandwich was becoming a constant need. My new found favorite sandwich was ham, oven-roasted turkey, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, a little spicy brown mustard, pickles, a layer of potato chips and a layer of small snack pretzels on the slides of bread. I was pretty damn good to tell you the truth. I eventually had gotten Edward to try my crazy meal and he thought it was really good as well. "You know Edward." I called as I was finishing making my two sandwiches.
"Yeah?"
"I think I want to find out what my symptoms for the next trimester will be, so I'm.. or we're prepared, what do you think?"
"I think it's a good idea, we could do that after we eat." I nodded and we finished our food really fast, anxious to see what I would have to endure in the next trimester. As soon as I got the site up I read the symptoms out loud. "Let's see... The second trimester of pregnancy often brings a renewed sense of well-being. The worst of the nausea has usually passed, and your baby isn't big enough to crowd your abdominal organs and make you uncomfortable. Yet dramatic pregnancy symptoms are on the horizon."
"Great!" I groaned, Edward just laughed, giving me a sideways hug. "Ok, so the symptoms are... Larger breasts, my belly will begin to grow, quick false contraction pains, skin tone changes, stretch marks, dizziness, leg cramps, shortness of breath." I shook my head. "Man, I'm just going to be a walking symptom."
"That's ok. I think after all that after all of this, our baby will be so beautiful."
