Seven Months ~ Edward's POV
As of today Bella and I were seven month along. The doctor the other day had just told us that they would be able to tell us the gender, but we had wanted it to be a surprise. We were so excited for the babies to come to us soon. Today was going to be a fun day for Bella I was sure of it. My brothers were going to take me to a baseball game while the girls had something special planned for Bella. I wasn't sure what it was but the girls said it was supposed to be something fun for them to do with her only. Girls gotta be girls I guess. Before leaving I had made her breakfast, putting it on a breakfast tray on her nightstand, putting a note and a flower on it was well, leaving a kiss on her forehead before leaving.
Bella's POV
The cool feel of the sheets had woken me the next morning and when I felt around on the sheets I could tell that Edward wasn't there, but there was a particularly delicious smell coming from my nightstand and I turned over to see that there was breakfast on a tray, along with a note. I first grabbed the note after getting up to go to the bathroom, opening it.
Good Morning my beautiful angels.
My brothers have taken me out to a "guys" version of a baby shower. XD Let's see how this goes. I won't be home until later today, but I will have my cell phone on me. Your cousin leah called to say that she was going to pick you up around noon for some special girl time.
I love you very much and I will see you later. Call me if anything happens.
Take care of my heart, I've left it with you.
Love, Edward
I smiled widely as I read this note, bringing the flower to my nose, my favorite scent, honeysuckle. With my happiness I placed my hand on my stomach and rubbing my hand over my, now large, baby belly. Was leah going to take me to my fourth Lamaze class? "That should be some fun stuff." I laughed to myself. After I had finished my breakfast I had took it downstairs with me and put it in the sink after getting dressed into some comfortable clothes, like my MUSE band t-shirt and a pair of comfortable sweatpants. It was long after I had brushed my teeth that the doorbell had rang and there was Leah as well as my Aunt Sue. I smiled and opened the door.
"Hello Bella!" My aunt said, pulling me into a hug and placing her hand gently on my stomach. "Oh you're getting so big! I can't wait for these little babies! They are going to be absolutely adorable!" She said, calmly, but adding enthusiasm to her thoughts. I smiled and nodded, placing my hand over hers.
"They have been quite lively." Sue laughed before taking my hand and leading me towards the car. "Where are we going again exactly?" Leah looked at me with an amused smile.
"It's a surprise." Oh great, surprise! I laughed inside. Well if I must I will accept it happily, even if I know that I won't like it at all. luckily for me we didn't have to go far except walk across the street to Rosalie's and now I was very worried about what had been planned. As we walked I couldn't help but notice the radiant beauty of the day. The fall colors of the leaves and the crisp scent of the apples from the orchid not too far from here made me remember back to when I had been a child and my brothers and I would go over to our neighbor's house for delicious apple pie. I smiled before continuing and once we were at the door, Sue and Leah had let me walk in first and once I had I couldn't see anything with how dark it was and once Aunt Sue and Leah closed the door behind them the lights flicked on.
"SURPRISE!" I was so startled that almost fell back. Rosalie, Alice, Leah, Aunt Sue, and Emily "by brother Sam's fiance" had planned a secret baby shower, also inviting the nice woman from the record label company for this moment. I was so shocked that my mouth hung open slightly and in the corner of the room I found a blow-up "bigger" picture of my mother on an easel in the corner. At this baby shower there had been cake, soup, pizza, all the food practically I was starving for earlier. I laughed to myself as we began the baby games, one consisted of little rubber babies frozen inside an ice cube and we had to try and free the baby from the ice. The one who had won was my brother's fiance Emily.
"Ok Bella! It's time for you to open gifts!" Alice shrieked, putting a somewhat large present in my hands. Slowly I removed the wrapping and the box was a box with multiple baby monitors. This one had been from Rosalie.
"Thank you Rosalie. This was very thoughtful."
"Well, I had to buy you guys this because we have to make sure that those kiddos are one-hundred percent safe." I nodded and reached for one on the table. This party had actually been better than I thought it would have been. All together from this party I had been bought child-safety locks, baby monitors, baby bathtubs, bath toys, baby blankets, baby onesies, and some stuffed animals. Once the party was titled officially over and everything had been cleaned up I invited Rosalie, Alice, and Leah to go baby shopping with me. "Of course we want to go with you!" As we left I saw Edward coming over and I walked back home for a moment, hugging him from behind.
"Well hello love."
"Hello Edward." I said, giving him a gentle kiss on his shoulder blade. He turned around immediately and leaned downwards, pressing his lips to mine before kneeling downwards and pressing his lips to my stomach, little did I know that my brothers and Edward's brother's had just entered the living room from one of the backrooms and stood there, blushing as Edward finished placing his chaste kiss on my large belly.
"And how are the little ones today? Did you behave for mommy?" I smiled.
"Of course, they were very well behaved. A bit of movement today, but that's about it." I smiled and Edward stood back up, giving me a quick kiss. When I saw the girls outside waiting for me I tapped his shoulder. "Hey babe, um, Rosalie, Alice, Leah, and I were going to go to get all the things we need for the nursery..." I stated. Edward smiled.
"Could I come along love?" I nodded and looked towards all the other guys.
"You all want to come along? We can take the old band van." She suggested and the guys eyes all brightened immediately.
"Of course!" They shouted, following behind us and we the perfect amount of space we all fit into the van with extra space. It took us forever to get to the mall due to traffic and it took even longer to find a parking spot in the parking lot. But Edward was as careful as ever, driving to ensure there would be no accident whatsoever, but I could tell you, Emmet had some pretty nasty road-rage. We would laugh about it while Emmet would curse and each time I would pull out the "don't want to corrupt your nieces and/or nephews" card and that usually shut him up.
Once we got into the mall we all made out way towards the best baby store here and when we walked in, the boys and girls, aside from Edward and myself, made it their mission to find the minor things on our list while Edward and I went on our own to look at the major things we needed like a changing table, cribs, dressers, baby music mobiles, and other things like that. In the end we had purchased so much, but it was so worth it. While we were there we had purchased; Diaper changing pads, waterproof pads for the changing table, Rattles and small toys, Dirty diaper trash bin, Wipes, 2 packages newborn diapers, a couple packs of T-shirts, twelve one-piece outfits that snap at the crotch (long-sleeved and short-sleeved), pajama sets, pairs of socks, 2 pairs soft booties (alice and Rosalie had insisted), Cotton sweaters, and baby pants. Then for feeding we had bought a Nursing pillow, 6 burp cloths, eight bottles with newborn nipples, Bottle brush, Nursing bras, Nursing pads for bras, and embarrassingly a breast pump. Then for cleaning we got animal hooded towels (frog, penguin, dog, cat), 2 packs of washcloths, Baby shampoo, Baby body wash, Infant bathing tub, Baby nail clipper, Soft brush and comb, and Mild soap for laundry
We also bought two dark brown wood cribs, a rocking chair, two mattress pads, four waterproof bed liners, a dark brown changing table, blankets and since the beds were dark brown we had decided on mint green blankets, sheets, and pillows (for when needed). For when we were on the go we decided to buy two car seats, a diaper bag, and two baby carriers for us to use when we needed to get stuff done while we were taking care of the children. And for play time Rosalie, Alice, Emmet, and Jasper had asked to take that over and had bought multiple stuffed animals, rattles, baby books, two bouncy seats, and Alice and Rosalie had insisted on purchasing a camera and camcorder. Once we had finished paying we all were carrying stuff out when I noticed that my brother Jake wasn't with us. "Jacob?" I called out. Just then he came running out of the store with two bags. "What did you get Jacob?" I asked.
"Well I thought you would need these." He showed me two baby books, along with picture frames and he pulled out some cool decals like Owls, and a tree branch. It was so adorable and I hugged him.
"Thank you Jake. That's very nice of you." I said and we left. Once we all got back to my house we all just decided on dropping all the stuff off in the living room before we went out to get something to eat. When it became later Edward and I walked back inside our home and we both, after changing into pajamas, gently plopped down into back and I smiled. "It's been such a long day..." I said, a smile on my face.
"Yes it has. But I'm glad I got to go baby shopping with you, it made me feel more a part of it. It made me so happy." I looked at him and nodded and I rolled over into my side, snuggling into him.
"I'm glad you came along as well. It was nice that everyone went though. It was nice to have everyone there. We're going to have to invite out parents out here soon, with the due date coming pretty close, it will be good so they can be here when it happens." Edward chuckled, running his hand through my hair.
"They would love that I am sure. Would make them feel even more involved than they are already." We both laughed before sleep started to take me over. "I think... I think we should put the nursery in the room closest to the bedroom, Incase something happens at night and we have to hurry to get to the children." I stated and as I felt him nod, I could tell he was agreeing with me. And it wasn't long before sleep took me over and we both fell asleep in each other's arms, and I dreamt of how beautiful our babies would be, and I just knew that this was going to be an amazing experience for us, the experience of parenthood.
