EPOV
I woke up this morning, feeling hyper and ready to get to work. But I made sure to be calm as I watched Bella sleep, though my impatience got the best of me and I kissed her forehead before moving out of bed to go make Bella breakfast in bed. Rosalie, Alice, Leah, Bella's Aunt, and my mother, Esme had called me when Bella had been napping to tell me they wanted to take Bella to an all weekend spa specifically for pregnant women. Of course I was going to miss her this weekend, but right after the girls called me, I called up all the guys for a meeting for after all of the girls left, including Charlie and Carlisle.
"Hey good morning baby." She said, stretching, taking my hand and bringing it to her lips, pressing my skin to mouth and smiling at me, blushing as she said hello. I smiled back.
"Good Morning. How are you this morning?"
"I am alright, a little tired. Hey, is my bag for the weekend in the closet?"
"Of course. Would you like some breakfast?" Bella smiled but shook her head.
"No thanks. The girls and I are going to get some while we are on our way there. But could I ask you for one thing?" I nodded.
"Anything."
"A kiss?" This was something I couldn't ever deny her. It wasn't possible. She was my love and I was hers and her lips were like a drug addict's heroine. I nodded and pulled myself onto my knees to balance me and I placed one hand on the side of her stomach and the other on her cheek, stroking her cheek ever so gently. Her lips felt like soft, smooth, liquid velvet and I couldn't help but want to pull myself closer to him.
"OH!" I heard some girls behind us shriek, seeming awed by our moment together. I turned and around to see that it was the girls and I rolled my eyes as I chuckled.
"We should really get that spare key back from them." I said, laughing causing Bella to laugh as well. I heard the sounds from the girls that sounded like insulted gasps from me saying such a thing as I leant Bella a hand. Bella took my hand and slowly came up out of the bed. It was just then that I had noticed that Bella was only wearing a pregnancy bra and sleep shorts. I smiled and relished in the fact that I could see her beautiful stomach before she was going to leave me for a whole weekend. Bella blushed and made her way into our walk-in closet to get dressed where she dressed into a black and silver maternity sweater with dark blue maternity jeans and a pair of black ballet flats. When she walked out I hugged her.
"You look stunning." I said, looking her completely over. I could hear Esme giving of an awed sigh as she watched me with my wife. Slowly I leaned down, pressing my lips to her stomach and at the same moment I could feel our children fluttering around excitedly and I gave her stomach one more kiss before gingerly placing my hand on the peak of her stomach. "You two, I am expecting you two to behave. I love you and daddy will see you when you get back." I smiled, giving Bella one more kiss before she joined with the girls and left. It was just then that I looked over all of the stuff we had in the living room for the nursery and as I was sorting it all, counting inventory all the guys came in, including Charlie and Carlisle.
"Well, this looks like a lot of stuff..." Charlie said, smiling at me. Giving me his joking his smile, causing all of us to laugh with him.
"To be honest, I have no clue how to put this room together. Charlie, Dad? What are your suggestions on where we should start?" Bella and I's father's looked at each other smiling.
"We should start by putting together all of the baby furniture. And since the floors in the whole house are like dark chocolate all you need is some paint. So, before we make any decisions we should organize everything into piles, so when it's time to put all of it together, it's easier." Charlie suggested.
"And, how about before we do anything with the nursery, let's move the stuff like the bottles and bottle brushes into the kitchen and the baby tub and bath toys into the bathroom." Carlisle suggested, walking over to the huge pile of baby items. Emmet and Jasper were put in charge of sorting the bathing items such as the two baby baths, the toys, washcloths, the baby towels, baby shampoo, baby soap, baby lotion, and other things and Bella's brothers opted themselves in to sort out and put away the kitchen items like the bottles, bottle brushes, the bottle nipples, bibs, and other things, except I put away her breast pump in the baby cabinet for them, seeing as that would probably be really embarrassing for them to try and put away.
"Ok, well all the things that needed sorted are put away." I said, looking at some things. "These two bouncy, mobile seats, the two car-seats, and the two body baby carriers could probably be put in the spare closet in the hallway, but we should put away everything except for the car-seats and the bouncy seats in their boxes... we could probably assemble those today." I said, really talking to myself.
"OH CAN I DO ASSEMBLE THEM?!" Emmet yelled, really excited. We all just laughed and I gestured my arms towards the bouncy seats. Jasper had offered to put together all the parts of the car seats and be there to help Emmet if he got confused with the bouncy seats. I was looking at the separated piles and I picked up one of the boxes with the high-chairs and was moving it towards the closet off of the kitchen. I noticed that Jacob had grabbed the other and had been following me with it.
"We probably won't need these for a while, seeing as the babies will be nursed and then bottle-feed." I said, once again speaking to myself.
"You're really thinking about all of this, you're taking this all very seriously huh?" I smiled and nodded.
"Yes. I have to be. I need to really step up to the plate now. Now that there will be children here, it will be hard, but I bet it will be so much fun." Jacob laughed and awkwardly wrapped one around around my shoulders.
"Now, like my dad I'm not usually one to compliment or so people my feelings so openly, but I think you will be a great dad. Take good care of them, or Uncle Jake will have to come teach you a lesson." I laughed and we playfully wrestled and both of us tied three-to-three. By this time it was noon and I had just decided to buy a couple cheese and pepperoni pizzas so we could get work done. We all ate in the living room, all of us sitting on the hardwood floor as we ate our pizza and had our one bottle of Red Apple Ale, but Charlie and Bella's brothers choose my stronger tasting lager.
"You putting so much thought into this whole thing. You're really trying to make Bella really happy with this nursery aren't you?" I smiled and nodded.
"It's not only about making her happy with the room. It's also about, making a room that my children will love as well." I said, wow, I sounded really cheesy.
"That's a good answer. I'm betting that you and Bella's children will be really smart and intelligent." Sam said randomly. I cocked my head to the side.
"Why do you say that? I mean I'm hoping they will, just curious why you said that." I asked, truly curious.
"Well, seeing as you and Bella were both high grade students in every single class you were in and how you both are so interested in other cultures, in art, and obviously in music..." Oh I got it.
"Bright children from bright parents." Carlisle said, Charlie nodding with a grin.
Once we had finished we immediately got back to work. I had to go to the store to by the best paint for the room, which my father offered to come along, seeing as he had been a pediatric doctor before last year when he had eventually retired, he would be great helper in picking child appropriate paint. Cause I knew fumes could cause an issue.
"So, which one would be best dad?" I asked, looking at all of the paints that there was to choose from. I was bewildered at how many paint colors there were for a baby room. My father and I kept looking down the aisles carefully before we ran into a paint specialist.
"Hello. Is there anything I can assist you?" I nodded my head insanely.
"Yes, thank you sir. See, my wife is pregnant with twins and we are looking for a light green paint, like a mix of seafoam and mint. We also want the paint to be child-safe because I know fumes can be an issue." The man smiled at me.
"Well, we got one over here. Child-Safe. It's called Clean Green." He said as he was looking through the color strips. "Ah!" He said, pulling one of strips out and pointing to the color on it. It was perfect! There couldn't have been a more perfect color! "Was this the color you were looking for sir?" I nodded furiously and he laughed. "So, when is your wife due?"
"In almost a month." The man's face seemed to lighten up.
"Oh, so soon. You know the genders?" I shook my head.
"No, my wife and I decided that we wanted to wait for them to be born." The man sighed happily.
"I just love babies, they are so new, innocent, and precious. My husband and I want to adopt children. I wish you and your wife luck with your babies!" I smiled and shook his hand.
"And you and your husband, good luck with adopting." I said sincerely and the man shook my hand back after I bought two cans of green paint, paint rollers, painting stencils and normal corner painting brushes along with scotch paint tape, and large plastic sheets for covering the hardwood flooring.
As soon as we made it back we started on the bedroom, painting it immediately. I bought wall decals of every letter, two owl decals, and two adorable scrolls for under the names. As soon as the walls were painted mint we opened up the windows in the room to let the room dry and air out. After we finished we walked out into the living room to see that all the stuff had been assembled for the nursery and for now we moved it so the kitchen was accessible. By the end of the day we had all become exhausted and fell asleep in the living room anywhere that there was space.
It had taken a whole day and a half before we started moving everything into the nursery. There was two windows in the room, one large window on the north wall horizontal to the door and one on the east window. We moved the cribs in so that the backs of the cribs were against the walls. There was space in between the ends of the cribs and the walls so the two individual baby dressers were put there and in the space in between the two cribs we put a toy bin. On the west wall, an idea added by Alice who bought a huge heart-shaped collage of picture frames, and had put a bunch of pictures in each. One of them was a picture of the beginning of Bella's 7th pregnant with me hugging her from behind, both of us having hands on her belly. in the other collage of frames were pictures of everyone in our family including pictures of Bella's mother and pictures of my deceased biological parents Elizabeth and Edward Sr. I smiled as Same and Emmet helped me put it up on the wall. On the east side of the wall we had placed the changing table in the nook just before the sliding door closet and on the same wall as the door there was a rocking chair and a small bookcase right next to it, where we stored all of the baby books that were bought and some stuffed animals on top. In the cribs we laid down the mint green blanket and infant pillow and having a soft white cotton sheet on the crib mattresses. As I looked around the room, I was happy with it.
I decided to leave the windows open, seeing as it wasn't supposed to rain until three days from now and, a request made by Rosalie, I pulled out the large red ribbon and taped it to the door. I backed away and all of us smiled at our handy work. It wasn't until now that all heard a car pulling up outside and I looked to see that it was the girls and my mother Esme was helping Bella out of the car and I watched as Rosalie insisted on taking her small travel bag inside, not letting Bella carry it.
The door opened as we all made our way into the kitchen, pulling out all the leftover pizza and there was a lot! "Edward? Baby?" She called out and a smile came upon my face as she walked into the kitchen to see us all standing here eating pizza. As soon as the smell of cold pizza hit her senses she walked over quickly and grabbed four slices of the cold pepperoni before bending over onto the counter, eating it immediately. I laughed and placed a kiss on her cheek.
"Welcome home." I said, chuckled as she stuffed her face with the pizza and it wasn't just me who was laughing. She looked at me and blushed and swallowed the bite in her mouth.
"Sorry... it was pizza, these crazy ones were craving it all day, and when I came home to see and smell pizza, it was like "get the hell out of my way." She laughed and placed a kiss on my cheek. "I'm glad there is pizza here, all those people at the spa tried to get me to eat was damn salad!" We all laughed even harder and I gingerly placed a hand upon her stomach, the little ones were really, really lively today, maybe they were happy that she had finally received the pizza that they had her craving so badly.
"So Bella when you're finished I have something to show you." I said as she finished her third slice, grabbing the fourth one before grabbing one extra, causing me to laugh even harder. She smiled and nodded at me, before taking the next bite. I guess they were right, "nothing comes in between a pregnant woman and her meal." Once she had finished her food she rinsed off her plate and I took her hand in mine. "Are you ready to see it now?" She nodded.
"Yes, but what is it that I'm seeing exactly?" I shook my head and covered her eyes with my hands, leading her towards the nursery. Everyone followed behind us and Jacob did me the favor of opening the door so I keep her eyes covered.
"Ok, are you ready?" She nodded her eyes and smiled as I swiftly and quickly removed my hands. I heard the gasp exit her lips almost immediately and she looked around the room. I could see the tears of joy running down her cheeks and she turned to look at us.
"You... you guys all did this?" She asked, a smile appearing on her face. We all nodded and she hugged us. "Thank you!" She quietly and happily exclaimed. Her hug was so gentle and as soon as she finished hugging all of us, her face looked shocked, her hands traveling to her stomach as she almost collapsed to the floor as her face held the emotion of pain.
"Bella!" I grabbed her into my arms immediately and I could hear the sound of worry in everyone behind us. "Bella, what's wrong love?" I asked she her back was arched and the top of head resting on my chest as she groaned in pain. I waited for her groaning to stop. I felt her head look further down and she sighed as well as gasped. "Bella? Please, tell me what's wrong?" I could hear the worry, pain, and smile in her voice.
"Edward..." She said breathlessly. "My... my water broke..."
