A 5 year old girl named Cobra meets 3 year old Zuko. As Cobra comes from a past filled with violence, secrets and lies she is put to the test when the day comes to tell Zuko everything. They were bound together at a young age but as they get older will that tie break or hold out? Some secrets come to light, will Cobra live or die and will Zuko accept all of her?

12. Chapter 12

CHAPTER ELEVEN

June dropped the fugitive onto the ground in front of the main jail and held out her hand, the guard's had been expecting her and pulled out the sack full of money from his pack and tossed it towards her. June caught the money and turned Nila back towards where they had come from. Something about that young Fire Nation guy seemed familiar and Cobra really wanted to be in control but she had to keep up pretenses so June she was and would stay until after they found this person that the guy wanted to find. June felt a long time instinct kick in and she ducked just in time to miss the tree branch that shot over her head as Nila ran through the forest. "Come on girl! Focus!" June thought to herself as she shook her head and took a deep breath.

TWO HOURS LATER:

AT THE MEETING PLACE

June yawned tiredly as she stretched out her aching muscles from having Nila roll over her because of that huge flying bison knocking Nila over. Oh well at least she had had the boy and his uncle pay her up-front, now that she found the Avatar for them they were on their own. And now that she was alone she could let 'June' slip and become Cobra.

Cobra stretched some more before settling into a meditative position and going over her mental exercises. After an hour Cobra stood up and settled herself at the base of a tree to think back over her meeting with that boy and his uncle, there was something so familiar about the boy and his uncle. Some of the boy's mannerisms were so much like Zuko's that Cobra almost thought that he was Zuko but as far as she knew Zuko didn't have a scar across his face…unless…Cobra felt the earth around her shake as her anger grew and she silently cursed Azula and Ozi, if they had done anything to Zuko they would pay with their lives, after she tortured them first!

Cobra stood up to angry to sit still or to put on the façade of June as she left Nila at their campsite and after making sure that she covered 'Junes' tattoo and pulled off 'Junes' fake long hair as well as covered the lower half of her face, Cobra took to the skies with her Air bending. After flying for two hours Cobra could feel her muscles begin to ache and a huge headache was forming from concentrating so much on the element that she had least control over. Finally Cobra saw the ship the boy and his uncle had been traveling in when they had first met and Cobra headed down toward it, letting go of her Air bending around twelve feet up she dropped onto the ship keeping her knees bent as she rolled along the deck so not to injure her legs. There were several Fire Nation guards that had seen her and they immediately came at her intending to kill or capture her. "Ha! Like that will ever happen!" Cobra thought to herself. She could see their surprise as she used their own fire against them until all but one of them was knocked out. Cobra grabbed him by his neck and yanked him close to her face, "Tell me what is the name of the boy and his uncle that travel on this ship?" Cobra ground out her anger making her naturally husky voice sound like an animal's growl. To his everlasting credit the Fire Nation guard said nothing and even tried to bend some fire at Cobra who knocked him out with a single well-placed punch.

Cobra heard more then saw several more guards approaching her, however when she turned to face them they all stopped before reaching her. Cobra felt her eye-brow rise at their behavior. Then one of the guards turned and went back down below deck and she heard a loud exclamation of, "WHAT!?" Then a loud clamoring of footsteps racing up the metal stairs before the door that led below deck flew open and he was there in the doorway. There was no doubt in Cobra's mind now this was indeed Zuko.

[ZUKO'S PROV]

Zuko angrily muttered to himself as he practiced with his duo swords that he had got from his uncle for his birthday when he first had been exiled. Zuko had mastered the use of the swords and he found practicing with them calming. All the sudden Zuko heard what sounded like fighting above deck and he rolled his eyes and tried to keep his temper, then a loud clamoring down the metal steps and his temper flared as did the fire in his room. A knock sounded on his door then one of the older soldiers, one who knew about Cobra, opened the door Zuko felt his eye-brow twitch at this soldiers insolence when the soldier said, "Begging your pardon Prince Zuko but Cobra is on deck, right now."

Zuko felt his whole body freeze, Cobra, he hadn't seen her in three years and he could feel his whole body begin to tremble. Zuko shouted "WHAT!?" as he tried to comprehend what the soldier was saying. After the soldier quickly repeated his message Zuko shoved past the soldier and flew up the stairs. Zuko felt himself freeze in the doorway as his eye's landed on the female figure that was standing on the deck surrounded by several of his newest soldiers.
