A 5 year old girl named Cobra meets 3 year old Zuko. As Cobra comes from a past filled with violence, secrets and lies she is put to the test when the day comes to tell Zuko everything. They were bound together at a young age but as they get older will that tie break or hold out? Some secrets come to light, will Cobra live or die and will Zuko accept all of her?

14. Chapter 14

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Cobra bit her lip as Zuko asked her what was wrong, she couldn't tell him, not yet so Cobra simply shook her head and smiled. "Nothing's wrong but I have to go, I think I'm really close to finding your mom." Cobra said shoving down the guilt she felt at lying to Zuko. Zuko's happiness at that small bit of information almost broke Cobra's heart and she was glad when he hugged her so that he couldn't see her eyes. Cobra closed her eyes for a second trying to shove the guilt down as far as she could before Zuko pulled away from the hug. "You'll come visit me again soon right?" Zuko asked, uncertainty creeping into his voice. Cobra nodded, "I'll come again as soon as I can." Cobra said with a smile that she hopped didn't betray her. In all honesty she wasn't sure when she would see Zuko again or who she would be seeing Zuko as, herself or her fake identity June. "Or not at all." A harsh voice from her pasted whispered in her mind. Cobra shoved that voice back into the deepest corners of her mind and stood up. "I had better be going." Cobra said her voice emotionless and detached, that voice had rattled her more then she cared to admit.

[ZUKO'S PROV]

Zuko frowned as Cobra suddenly stood up and used the emotionless voice she usually only used around other people. "I had better be going." Cobra said. Zuko stood up to walk Cobra back to the ship's deck when Zuko realized that he didn't know how Cobra had found them since they were in the middle of the ocean and no one had spotted another ship coming after them. The guards would have alerted him if they had seen a ship following them. "Hey Cobra, how did you find me? Were in the middle of the ocean and…" Zuko's voice trailed off as Cobra's face paled and her whole body seemed to tremble.

[COBRA'S PROV]

Cobra felt her body start to tremble, "Must be the after effects of using Air Bending for the first time and for so long." Cobra thought to herself as she let her body drop back onto Zuko's bed. "Don't try to kid yourself, you know exactly why this is happening to you!" The harsh voice mocked. Cobra could feel herself swaying, as a headache formed harsh pressure behind her eye's like someone was beating a drum inside Cobra's head. Cobra swallowed down some bile she felt rise in her throat. "Cobra! Are you okay? What's wrong?" Zuko asked his voice slightly panicked. Cobra bit her lip harshly to keep from screaming as white dot's began to swim before her eye's, her body felt like it was being tortured by thousands of invisible enemies from the inside out. Cobra knew she couldn't black out, not right now, she had to comfort Zuko. "Zu-ko." Cobra gasped out reaching out a hand in his direction.

Cobra felt Zuko grab her hand and squeeze it, "I'm here. Tell me what you need." Zuko said panic still in his voice but now determination was the main emotion. "Just… just hold my hand and stay with me till this passes. I'll be fine I just need some…rest." Cobra managed to say. "Okay Cobra. I'll stay here with you until you wake up. I promise." Zuko said. Cobra gave a small tight smile before letting her body relax into a laying position on Zuko's bed, she felt Zuko lay down beside her his body warming hers as she welcomed the pit of darkness that was growing in her mind with open arms.

When Cobra once again opened her eye's the first thing she saw was Zuko's face inches from her own, he was fast asleep. Their bodies were mere inches away from each other and Zuko had his left arm over Cobra's waist holding her close to him his right arm was underneath his head his hand still intertwined with Cobra's. Cobra felt a smile cross her face and she used her left hand to trace Zuko's face committing every single detail and feel to her memory. Her fingers brushed against the scar on Zuko's face and to Cobra's surprise instead of feeling rough and brittle, the scar was as soft as the rest of his face the only difference was that the skin around the scar was raised up a little bit from the rest of Zuko's face.

Also I wanted to apologize for the extremely long wait, I've been switching all of my stories onto my new laptop and I've had to do it by sending them to myself in emails which changes the formatting so yeah.
