A 5 year old girl named Cobra meets 3 year old Zuko. As Cobra comes from a past filled with violence, secrets and lies she is put to the test when the day comes to tell Zuko everything. They were bound together at a young age but as they get older will that tie break or hold out? Some secrets come to light, will Cobra live or die and will Zuko accept all of her?

19. Chapter 19

RECAP:

Luna was sitting on the porch and at the sight of Cobra she jolted into a standing position her eyes wide with what looked like shock, surprise, joy and confusion all wrapped up together. "Cobra, I mean June... what happened? You've been gone for two and a half months I thought you were killed." Luna said as she came down from the small porch and grabbed Cobra into a tight hug.

CHAPTER 19

Cobra hugged Luna back and all of her emotions suddenly boiled together and shoved themselves to the surface at the sound of Luna's worried and motherly voice. After several minutes of silently sobbing into Luna's shoulder Cobra pulled back however Luna wouldn't let things go and insisted that Cobra sit down and tell her everything and for the first time in a very long time Cobra did as she was told.

~ several hours later ~

Cobra looked after the kids while Luna thought over everything that Cobra had told her. After Cobra put Rama and Adenah to bed and cleaned up the dishes she walked back out to the porch where Luna was still sitting. Cobra nervously shifted her weight from one foot to the other staying quiet until Luna finally turned her attention to Cobra. "Well your past is in the past and that's where we will leave it." Luna said before she stood up and walked over to Cobra and hugged her. "I can't wait to be your mother-in-law." Luna said teasingly with a smile as they pulled apart. Cobra blushed at that before smiling, "You are already like a mother to me." Cobra said. Luna's eyes misted slightly and she hugged Cobra again before Cobra climbed onto the roof of the medium sized house that Luna owned.

The next day Cobra knew that she needed to get back to work however with Nila pregnant she would need another way to make money however the only jobs near-by were for builders and they didn't accept females so Cobra made up another identity, with the help of glue and some of her newly cut hair and a tight wrap across her chest Cobra became Lee a young male earth bender. Lee provided a nice income for Luna and the kids and that continued for seven months. However when Nila's babies were finally old enough to go off by themselves Lee disappeared and June came back to town. As time continued to wear on Cobra noticed that it became harder and harder for her to use her earth and air bending and when she did she got sharp headaches which soon morphed into a nose bleed and fainting spells. So Cobra gave up her earth and air bending and focused on her water and fire bending coming up with new bending techniques and soon it had been a year and five months since Cobra had last seen Zuko.

As June she was able to find out that the Fire Nation Prince had left the Fire Nation and seemed to have joined the Avatar. This surprised Cobra and it was all she could do not to go around and try to find Zuko, however the way she had acted when she had last seen him kept echoing around in her head so even when she got reports of places the Avatar was she didn't go. Luna however had different plans for Cobra and the kids, after Cobra had told Luna about Zuko joining up with the Avatar, Luna demanded nicely of course that Cobra take her and Rama and Adenah to meet up with Zuko since he had cut all ties with the Fire Nation. Cobra was very hesitant but Luna kept after her so Cobra finally agreed and when 'June' got wind of where the Avatar and his gang were she quickly finished up her business and left. Cobra warned Luna that the Avatar was rumored to be in one of the Fire Nation City's however Luna wanted to see her son and she had very high doubts that the Fire Lord would be looking for her so Cobra gave in. It took seven days traveling on Nila at her fastest speed to get to the place where the Avatar was rumored to be staying. Cobra gave Nila a break and searched for the Avatar by foot and was surprised when she finally did find him. He was staying at the Fire Lords old summer home, Cobra made sure she wasn't seen before going back to Luna and telling her where the Avatar was staying. After sending Nila off Cobra picked up the three packs that Luna had packed with things for her and the kids and she led the way to where the Avatar was.

When Cobra had made sure that there was no one else around Luna walked over to the door and knocked. The door was opened by a young girl who seemed very surprised to see an elder woman at the door. The girl must have hollered for Zuko because within seconds Zuko was at the door and staring with surprise at his mother. After giving them several minutes to reunite Cobra walked over holding Rama and Adenah's hands to make sure they didn't trip, before helping them up the steps where they met their big brother for the first time.
