Sorry it took me forever to post these here, but I took a break from fanfic for a while. All five of this fics were posted on Tumblr during swan queen week though, so if any seem familiar that's why. There may be minor tweeks here and there with them, but nothing major.

"You have got to be kidding me?" Regina growled staring down at the single bed like it was a death trap.

"It's either this, or the floor," Emma shot back, not pleased by their current situation either.

"You're the one that invited the entire town."

"My parents and my little brother are the entire town?"

Regina huffed, "you know what I mean," she said as she picked up one of the pillows to puff out. "You said a small family getaway; sorry if I thought you meant you, me and Henry."

Emma stopped folding back the sheets and eyed Regina curiously. "You thought it was just going to be me, you and Henry?"

"Why is that so surprising?" Regina questioned tightening her robe and crossing her arms firmly across her chest. "You brought us to the cabin where there's only a queen, a couch, and this," she said jerking her chin toward the bed that somehow shrunk since they started talking. "And after everything we've been through these last few months." Regina stopped abruptly and looked away.

"Regina," Emma gently tried to bring her back, but she just shook her head, shed her rob, revealing a simple deep purple tank with matching shorts, and quickly slipped into the bed. She curled into a tight ball toward the edge of her side, yet somehow, because it was the smallest bed on earth, practically took up the entire thing.

Emma took in Regina's shielded form and sat on the bed saddened. She may have been the dark one for the last several months, saving Regina from a doomed darkened life, but somehow, Regina was still the one to take on the blunt of the load in saving her, losing Robin in the process. Emma shook her head furiously thinking of everything that had happened. Annoyed that Hook couldn't have been stronger for her. He had stayed with her parents for a couple of weeks, losing patience in their continuous research on a way to save Emma, thinking it was a waste of time, and instead, tried to force "true loves kiss." The only thing he got in return was a broken arm after Emma sent him spiraling into a store from across Granny's Diner. After Hook left, Belle continued to help her parents search for other ways to release Emma from being the Dark one, other than true loves kiss or death, while Regina and Henry kept an eye on her day and night. Whether or not the Dark Swan approved, they were not going to let the new power she had chosen consume her entire soul like it practically did with Gold.

Regina hated controlling the dagger, but Emma had insisted she be the one to wield it once she reappeared in her new cloak of darkness. She didn't trust anyone else with it. Plus, Regina's past made her best qualified to handle anything Emma would throw at them, the good, and the bad.

"Regina, I'm sorry," Emma mumbled making Regina turn her head to look at her as she lied down beside her.

"Emma's, it's fine."

"No, not for this." Regina's eyebrows shot up. "Ok, not only for this," she laughed causing a smirk to surface.

"I told you, you did nothing wrong." Emma stared down not buying it. "Emma," Regina rolled over, their faces inches apart. She brought her hand up to Emma's arm, her warmth already beginning to soothe away her doubt. Emma peeked up, finally noticing their proximity and forgot how to breathe for a moment. The last time they were this close, Regina did something neither one of them was expecting. Part of her was begging Regina to do it again, to lean forward so she could feel the silk warmth of her lips that had sucked out the darkness inside her. She was no longer the Dark One, but there was still so much uncertainty swimming inside her, all she wanted was answers. But after the sudden revelation of saving Emma from a life darkened like with True loves kiss, Regina had asked for time.

Emma felt the exact opposite. She felt like her eyes had opened for the first time. With one simple, passionate kiss, her fate that had been with her ever since she first arrived to Storybrooke became crystal clear. How had she been so blind this entire time? And now that the truth was revealed, all Emma wanted was to dive in, but Regina wasn't ready. Things went back to normal and after a few weeks she decided to invite Regina up to the cabin for a weekend getaway, which Regina thought would be just them and Henry, possibly ready to start moving forward, and Emma went on and invited her entire family, pushing them back even more. She felt like a fool.

"Emma," Regina repeated softly, getting her focus back. "I know we still have a lot to sort out, but I want you to know that I didn't ask for space because I wasn't certain about what happened. I am. But after everything that has happened over the last few years, I just needed a moment to process it all. So I can finally put all of my past behind me and concentrate on the future, our future, with our son."

Emma could barely breathe. The annoyance Regina expressed about their bed situation had Emma expecting her to reveal an alternate reason on how she broke her free from being the Dark One, that their kiss had been a fluke, but in fact, it was the exact opposite.

"I thought this weekend would have been nice to finally talk, but then you had to go and invite your parents."

Emma laughed, "so, it's not the bed?"

"Well," Regina started glancing at the small coffin they were squeezed into, "I didn't say that. The other bed is definitely more accommodating."

Emma hummed. "Next time then."

Regina's hand traced up Emma's arm to her ear, tucking her hairs away from her face, "Next time," she whispered. There was still so much for them to talk about, but with Regina now in bed besides her admitting she was ready, Emma realized they didn't have to dive into any deep conversations right away. Now, with the first steps being taken, they had all the time in the world.
