The Power of Jealously

It was her fault, she knew that. Regina confessed her feelings for her and Emma still decided to stay with Hook, ending not only a possibility for a relationship between them, but their friendship as well. Her poor reasoning that she couldn't do that to Killian didn't help matters, especially when she admitted to having feelings for Regina as well. Emma tried calling Regina a few times since then, but of course, she never answered. It was driving her crazy. All she could do was think about Regina. What was she doing? What was she thinking? What was she wearing? Emma was in trouble for sure.

Emma told Killian she loved him, but now all she had inside her was doubt. She tried to think of all the pros in their relationship. Everything with Killian was fine, very ordinary, riding on boring and plainly simple, but fine. He did everything in his power to go over and above her needs, when he was sober, although even that had a way of suffocating her. She really wasn't that type of girl. Her parents finally accepted him, but it felt like it was more for her than for him. The more Emma thought about it, the more she craved something bigger, something extraordinary, with someone that not only loved her, but challenged her, not simply giving into things because it was something she wanted.

Dinner with Killian at Granny's that night only clarified Emma's desires for something more. She was tired of the same thing every day and night. And with nothing crazy happening in town, that's exactly what it was. She would wake up; head to the station, Killian would be there, coffee in hand, or on her desk if he passed out in her office from too much drinking the night before. She'd patrol the town citing a few cars here and there; breaking up kids attempting to graffiti a vacant lot, then went home and had dinner with her parents, Hook, or Henry, who she also hadn't seen much of since she broke Regina's heart. Emma was done with this stalling relationship. She knew what she had to do, but would it be too late.

Emma watched Killian jibber jabber about something obnoxious and inhaled waiting for the right time to jump in with her serious news, when the front door opened. Emma's eyes fell to the sharp black heels first. The authoritative walk of Regina's that once felt like razors shooting at her when she first arrived to Storybrooke, now sent a sizzling shiver down her spine. Emma's eyes trailed up Regina's legs unable to control the warmth building up inside her, Regina's toned calves only adding to the desire. Emma's body began to shake as she reached Regina's short jet black skirt, her mouth not remembering how to close as her eyes found the forest green blouse with the first three buttons undone revealing more than Emma could handle. Every intense feeling Emma had though came to a sudden halt when she saw the person holding the door for Regina.

"August?"

"I'm sorry love?" Killan asked.

Emma didn't realize she had spoken the name out loud, but she was unable to hide the confusion in her face to brush it off. "Regina… is here," she paused, her mind still boggled by the odd couple entering the diner, "with August."

Killian shot his head around and grinned. "So she is."

"Isn't that a little weird?"

Killian shrugged, "why? She's clearly not the same person he knew a few years ago. Maybe they've cleared the air. Plus, let's face it Swan, everyone in this town is related, who else are they going to go out with."

Regina and August sat in the corner booth out of ear, but not eye shot. Regina was calm and collected, not glancing up at Emma even once, but she knew Regina felt her stare. Regina and August were talking nonstop, laughing at some points, to consoling each other with a simple rub on the top of the hand at others. Emma was boiling. Hook asked if she wanted to leave at one point, and Emma quickly shook her head not caring if he was bothered by her new fascination. She needed a moment alone with Regina since there was no way the other woman would let her see her at a later date. It was now or never.

Finally, after Killian relieved himself for the third time, Regina stood up to use the bathroom. Emma didn't want to stalk directly behind her, so she waited a few minutes before following. She lingered in the hallway, straight across from the restroom so that Regina had no choice but to acknowledge her. She wiped her hands on her pants several times unable to get rid of the nerves, too frustrated with everything that was going on. She just hoped she didn't act like a crazed lunatic with all her emotions rushing to the surface when she faced Regina.

When the bathroom door opened, Emma shot up straight and snapped her arm out to hold the door so Regina couldn't pass.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Regina asked with zero emotion.

"We need to talk."

Regina's cold stare almost had Emma cowering away, but the build up inside her was enough to help her power through. "I have nothing else to say to you."

"Ok," Emma said trying to stay calm, "you don't have to say anything, I will."

"You had your chance Miss Swan," Regina forced through Emma's hold of the door and stormed passed only to have her arm snagged in return. "Let. Go."

Again, Regina's authoritative glare was enough to shut down an entire city. "You can get back to your date in a minute. Will you please just let me say something first?"

Regina snorted, "my date?" Emma stared blankly at her causing Regina to laugh some more. "You think August and I are on a date? And from your animalistic behavior it appears that you might be jealous."

The overly cocky smirk Regina threw her as she turned to leave boiled over inside Emma. She reached out, not wanting to let Regina go without hearing her out first. But she was so angry; her mind forgot how to form words. Instead, she dragged Regina down the other end of the hallway. Regina had no time to process what was happening until Emma pulled her around the far corner and pinned her against the wall by her arms.

"Are you out of your mind?" Regina asked frantically. But Emma's mind still had a hold of her words. Her eyes jerked back and forth searching for something within Regina, who, although appeared furious, hadn't pushed back. Emma knew Regina wouldn't stand for this for too long though, and with no words coming to the surface, she lunged forward. There was a sudden yelp from Regina's throat, and instead of throwing Emma off her she dug her nails into each arm keeping her close. Emma pulled back for a moment, stunned by her own actions and stared down at Regina's open mouth, their chest heaving into one another's as their eyes darkened over before crashing together once more. The kiss was sloppy, but with so much buildup between the two of them, neither one expected anything less as their teeth took turns gnawing on the others bottom lips. Regina brought her hand up and clawed at Emma's scalp while Emma reached down and pulled up one of Regina's leg, ranking her nails all the way up and under her skirt tearing part of her stocking. Regina growled sensing the rip and bit down hard on Emma's lip until blood trickled down forcing Emma to slam Regina back against the wall in retaliation pushing through the arousing pain.

Their heated moment took over their minds, not realizing where they were as Emma began to unbutton Regina's blouse needing to feel more of her.

"Hey now ladies," Ruby popped from around the corner shielding her eyes.

Emma and Regina broke away like frisky teenagers. "Ruby," Emma wheezed shooting a glare her way.

"Sorry, it's just, your," she coughed, "boyfriend is beginning to get a little too hands on for my liking. One more grab at me and he'll have two hooks."

"Sorry Ruby," Emma replied shaking her head. "We'll be right out."

When Emma turned back to Regina she had already buttoned up her blouse, evened out her skirt, and shook out her hair looking unfazed. The only thing slightly noticeable was her extra plumped lips and the tear in her stocking which luckily most of the skirt hid.

Regina went to leave, but again Emma caught her arm. "I don't think we should be doing that again Emma," she simply stated not looking at her.

"I know, but I still wanted to tell you something."

"I think you've said it."

This time Emma let Regina go. Once she was around the corner, Emma backed into the wall and slammed her head against it. Although, their moment was intense and said everything clearer than any words she would ever be able to say, Regina still left saddened. She was still with Hook, her boyfriend, as Ruby reminded both of them. Emma still planned on ending things with him tonight. She only hoped she could rebuild her friendship with Regina afterwards. Then maybe, with enough hope, they could finish what they had just started.
