AN: Finally on the next episode! I'M SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT! I did my Christmas ficlets, then became really lazy for some reason and didn't write for the rest of Winter break. Then school started again this week and midterms and benchmarks and STUFF. And then I was sick, and being the stubborn person I am, decided to go to school and extracurricular activities instead of staying home and writing. I'm as stubborn as your hair on a Monday morning (I have no idea where that came from…...Sorry). Anywho, you don't care about my life story, you want my OC's adventures! Without further ado, here's the next chapter!

Chapter 22

We all laughed as we collapsed inside the Tardis. After our chips date, we had slept the night in a hotel, Rose insisting that she "needed a break from buggering aliens!" We also may or may not have gotten into a sticky situation involving a pig and a woman's $600 purse (don't ask). After a particularly long chase through the streets of London, we barely made it inside the police box before several police cars sped by. Rose and I giggled as the Doctor said, "I can't go back to jail!"

I was running a brush through my wet hair while Rose and the Doctor decided to go to next. "Let Alice choose, It's her turn!" insisted Rose. I simply smiled and replied, "We've seen the future, I wanna go somewhere in the past."

"Any specific year?" the Doctor yelled, fiddling with a random dial. "Nope, that's your choice, alien boy." He grimaced at my nickname. "Never call me that again." I raised my hands in mock surrender, grinning wildly. He started pressing random buttons and Rose joined him at the console. The Tardis started a shaky flight. "Hold that one down!" he cried.

"I'm holding this one down!" Rose shouted over the noise. She nodded her head at the lever she was currently pressing.

"Well, hold them both down." Before an argument could ensue, I set aside my brush and held it down, calling, "I got it!"

"Ok, since Earth girl," he stares pointedly at me. "That's not my nickname," I yell cryptically. He ignores me and continues, "wants to visit the past, let's do….. 1860!"

"What happened in 1860?" Rose questioned. "I don't know, let's find out." The Tardis rumbles a bit. "Hold on, here we go!"

We hold on for dear life as we soar through the stars.

They land hard on the ground with an audible crash. The three fall to the floor. Rose rubs her sides, checking for bruises, while the Doctor and Alice giggled like two children on a roller coaster. "Blimey!" she groans, unable to process how they could have fun on such a bumpy ride. "You're-telling-me!" the Doctor gasps out, still chortling. "Yeah, nothing broken. Alice?"

She gives a thumbs up, clutching her sides and trying to regain her breath. Her face was all red, and Rose thought it was hilarious. "Well, did we make it, where are we?" she asked, not quite believing that such a bumpy ride was required for a measly ride to 1860. "I did it! Give the man a medal!" Alice stumbled over to the scanner. "Nope! Cardiff, 1969. Maybe next time," Alice smirks. The Doctor pouts. "It is December 24th, right?" She simply nods and scans the outside area.

"That's so weird, it's Christmas," Rose commented, creaking as she rose from the metal grating. The Doctor gestures to the door. "All yours."

" But, it's like, think about it, though. Christmas. 1860. Happens once, just once and it's gone, it's finished, it'll never happen again. Except for you. You can go back and see days that are dead and gone a hundred thousand sunsets ago. No wonder you never stay still." Rose sighed as she finished. "Not a bad life," he shrugs. "You're over analyzing it," Alice joins the pair near the door. "He's just really hyper." The Doctor playfully shoved her and she shrugged. Rose links arms with them and lifts her chin up dramatically. "Better with three! Come on then," she starts for the door, grinning with her tongue slightly sticking out.

The Doctor quickly pulled her back. "Where do you think you're going?" Rose rolled her eyes. "1860."

"Go out there dressed like that, you'll cause a riot, Barbarella." Alice looked confused. The Doctor explained, "It's a movie. The character dresses weird." Alice nods. "So…. like Lady Gaga?" Both the Doctor and Rose looked at her with questioning looks. "Oh, don't tell me you guys don't have Lady Gaga." They didn't respond. Alice whistled slowly. "Do I have something to show you when we finish this adventure….."

"Anyway…" the Doctor continued, kind of confused with the previous conversation. "There's a wardrobe there. First left, second right….." he started spouting off random directions that Rose didn't even try to remember. "You too Alice," the Doctor crossed his arms. Alice looked like a pouty five-year old. She rolled her eyes and let out an exaggerated sigh. "Do I have to?" The Doctor's look was answer enough. "Fine!" she grabs Rose's hand and pulls her down the hallway as if the directions were ingrained in her head (for all she knew, they could be).

I held up two different time-appropriate gowns to my body, comparing colors. I turned towards a mirror, calling out to Rose who was somewhere deep in the wardrobe. "Blue or green?" Her blonde head peered out from between a rack. She thought for a second, then answered, "Green! It goes with your eyes!" I nodded in agreement. I picked up a black sweater and got changed. Rose groaned. "What do I wear?" I looked at the area she was in. "To your left, black corset, burgundy skirt. Black shawl. It's a bit cold. And wear shoes you can run in!" She sighs. "I sometimes forget that you know everything that is going on." I move to the vanity and start pinning up my hair. "Do I travel with the Doctor forever?"

The question catches me by surprise, and I pause for a second. I exhale, tears threatening. After I gain control of my tear ducts (mentally sewing them shut), I swivel in my chair to look her in the eye. "If there's one thing you should know about the Doctor, Rose, is that he's ancient. He has had so many companions and adventures, and they all leave somehow. Someway. But don't fear. You should know that I have never seen a companion affect him more than you do. You might not realize it for a while, but it is amazing what your time with him does to his spirit. You teach him to be human. I hope I'm not telling you too much, but you don't stay with him forever, no one does. But somehow, some way, you will always find a way to go back to him."

She kind of just gapes at me before whispering a hushed, "Thank you." I apply thin layer of makeup and plop Rose down in the seat to mess with her hair. Once I pin it up, she reaches for a neutral lipstick. I smack it out of her hand with a laugh and pass her the bright red lipstick. She applies it with a smack and is about to exit till I call, "Wait!" I forgot to put on shoes, naturally. I grab a pair of plain black combat boots and lace them up quickly. I check my appearance one more time in the mirror. My ivy green dress is flowy, easy to run in, and lined with black lace.

Perfect, considering that this episode involves a lot of running. I grab my journal and stuff it in my boot, then loop my arm through Rose's and drag her back to the console room.

Hold on Rose, this adventure's a tough one.
