AN: Some guests have brought up a very good point. Seeing as there is an extensive amount of episodes in each season of New Who, after I finish this episode, I will only be doing the more important ones and my personal favorites. If anyone has any suggestions for episodes or storylines, feel free to PM me or review. Also, I have officially gotten out for summer, but so far my summer is as busy as the school year was. That doesn't mean that I'm giving up on this story, but do not expect regular updates. I try to write whenever I get the chance. Thanks, and enjoy the new chapter!

Chapter 32

As soon as we walk inside, a man is beside the Doctor. "Here's your ID card. I'm sorry, your companions don't have clearance." The Doctor shakes his head at that. "I don't go anywhere without them."

"You're the code nine, not her. I'm sorry Doctor, it is the Doctor, isn't it? They'll have to stay outside." The Doctor was still persistent. "They're staying with me." Even though the Doctor was fighting for my right to stay inside, I kinda felt bad for the poor man. "Look," he said. "Even I don't have clearance to go in there. I can't let them in, and that's a fact." Rose stepped back a little bit, saying, "It's all right, you go." I nodded. Before the Doctor could protest, a small, mousy woman interrupted. "Excuse me, are you the Doctor?" she squeaked. "Sure," the Doctor replied, not really looking her way. "Yes, he is," I answered properly, earning a glare from the Doctor. The man who was with us became quite rude, exclaiming, "Not now, we're busy. Can't you go home?" She didn't look phased at all. "I just need a word in private," she spoke clearly and calmly. I was astonished by the fact that the Doctor practically ignored her, muttering a quick "Don't get in any trouble" to us and then leaving. "I'm sorry," I apologized. "He's not usually this rude."

"It's alright," she replied, never dropping her calm exterior. "Ganesh, I'll look after these two, let me be of some use," she directed towards the man. He nodded, already distracted by something else. She leaned in close to Rose and I, whispering, "Walk with me. Just keep walking."

They scurried down the hall, passing many people chatting, working on computers, or pointing at maps. "That's right," the woman said, eyes facing forward. "Don't look round." She held up an ID of sorts, showing both Rose and Alice. Rose noticed Alice smiling a bit as the woman said, "Harriet Jones, MP Flydale North." They continued down the hall, reaching a door. After being ushered inside by Harriet, Rose noticed it was the Cabinet Room. Harriet seemed nervous and was wringing her hands. "This friend of yours, he's an expert, is that right?" she started. Both Alice and Rose nodded. "He knows about aliens?"

Rose nodded once again, saying, "Why do you want to know?" To her surprise, Harriet burst into tears. Alice was immediately at her side, rubbing her back soothingly. "I- I saw," she began. "These...things. They, shed their skin and became a monster. Then they…" she shuddered, "I think they killed someone. They turned the body into a suit. A disguise for the thing inside." She nearly collapsed. "It's alright," Rose said softly. "We believe you. It's…" Rose looked at Alice for confirmation. Alice shrugged. "It's alien." The confession seems to lift a weight off of Harriet's shoulders. "They must have some serious technology behind this. If we could find it, we could use it." She starts to search the room, opening drawers, searching behind cabinets, until she finally opens a cabinet and a body falls out. Alice rushes over to check his pulse, but it's too late.

Rose inspects the man's face. "Oh my God! Is that the-"

"Harriet, for God's sake," the man, Ganesh, from before comes storming in. "This has gone beyond a joke. You cannot just wander-" he stops, surveying the scene. "Oh my God. That's the Prime Minister!" He looks at us accusingly. However, a large blonde woman suddenly enters the room. "Oh!" she exclaims. "Has someone been naughty?" She closes the door behind her.

I gazed at the disgusting creature before me. Though she looked to be a regular woman, I know of the disgusting face behind it. Poor Ganesh looked like he was about to pee himself, which didn't amuse me as much as it usually did. "That's- that's impossible," he stuttered. "He left this afternoon. The Prime Minister left Downing Street. He was driven away!" He was breathing hard at the end of his revelation.

"And who told you that, hmm?" she smiled evilly. "Me."

As she started reaching for her hairline, I grasped Rose's arm: reassuring for her, a lifeline for me.
