I don't think this will be a weekly story at this point in time but hopefully I can make it right again in the future. Sorry if the quality isn't as good anymore but I'm a little rusty. Sorry again for keeping you waiting! Thanks to those who stuck by me and waited! A slightly longer chapter this time, I hope you enjoy it!
The time passed quickly. Eragon was dressed in new clothes, he was grateful for the new elves with different backgrounds; there was now a tailor and a carpenter, some actual teachers and warriors. Eragon wore a new blue doublet, the same shade as Brisingr and a pair of black trousers. He had his brown hair slicked back and as usual he was clean shaven. His sword on his belt and he wore black gloves, he strode out of his room to visit Saphira, they were to arrive together to the fest, however when he approached the Dragon Tower he saw that she was waiting outside with Fírnen. "If I'm, ready and Saphira's waiting for me then that must mean the Arya's ready as well" He thought to himself, groaning internally as he approached them, only then did he see Arya sitting by Fírnen.
"Atra du evarínya ono varda, Dröttning Arya" Eragon called out
"Atra esterní ono thelduin, Eragon Shur'tugal" Arya replied
"Un du evarínya ono varda" Eragon finished "How do you like your room?" he asked her
"It is beautiful Eragon, tell me, who decorated and designed it?" Arya asked him, curiosity dancing in her eyes
"Kuldr, apparently you never had the pleasure of meeting him although he does remember meeting you as a child" Eragon answered "Anyway, we should be off... we have to arrive there within the next few minutes" He added, climbing onto Saphira "I shall see you in a few minutes Arya" he informed her before taking off. When he arrived everything was ready but as soon as he landed Aninya ran up to him, wearing new clothes like everyone else, a blue dress that glittered in the light, it seemed to be a perfect fit for her like Eragon's new clothes were for him.
"Eragon, I have a proposition for you" Aninya told him
"I'm listening, what do you want Aninya?" he asked her, climbing off of Saphira's back and turning to face her
"As the host of this event and the fact that everyone else has a date, it would only be fitting that you need one as well" Aninya suggested
"Who is everybody here with?" Eragon asked her, curiously
"Well, there's Murtagh and Kaira, Blodhgarm decided to ask Saphia to go with him as friends. Kuldr is coming with an elf who joined us recently, Vanir is doing the same, Roran and Katrina, Orik and his wife, Arya and Lifaen and Nasuada is here with one of her guards as she needs an escort" Aninya told him "The only people left are me and you and I suggest you accept as it would seem out of place for you to not have a date" Aninya added
Eragon thought about the proposition "What do you think Saphira?" he asked her
"I suggest you say yes, I mean her intentions are that purely of a friend so why not?" Saphira answered
"Very well, I would love for you to accompany me as my date, we are friends and there is nothing wrong with us to go together" Eragon replied to her, extending his hand, watching her take it and together they entered the pavilion.
Quickly the night went on, Eragon was sat at a table with Roran and Katrina, telling old stories and discussing their past with each other, Katrina was holding Ismira in her lap as they talked. He watched the room. Eragon could see Blodhgarm and Kuldr talking with Vanir, Orik and Nasuada. He saw Arya and Lifaen talking with Saphia and Aninya, Murtagh was dancing with Kaira and the students were talking amongst one another, now and again they'd speak to some of the elves but they mainly kept to themselves. Then he saw Aninya walking over to them.
"Eragon..." Katrina said "Isn't it your birthday next week?" She asked him
"Now that you mention it, it's next Thursday" Roran interjected
"Aye, to be honest I'd forgotten everything about it till you mentioned it" Eragon told them, chuckling as Aninya came and sat down with him "I don't think you've met Aninya" he told them "She's one of the first elves that came with me to build this place" he added as Murtagh sat down with them.
"Evening everyone" Murtagh said as he sat down
"Evening Murtagh" Eragon replied
"Evening" Roran replied, a flash of anger in his eyes before it settled
"I am sorry for interrupting the conversation but I must tell you something Eragon" Murtagh told him "I am scared about what could happen when Orik finally realises who I am, he will not be as forgiving as Kuldr is" Murtagh replied
"Don't worry... I will sort this for all of us" Eragon said, an idea coming to mind. He stood up and walked over to the platform at the front of the pavilion, clearing his throat he called out "Everyone, I'd like to say a few words" he said, waiting for everybody to pay attention to him "Today is a first of many things, it is the first month that we have had students, it is the first month since we completed the buildings and it is the first month of our new lives... Today we are celebrating many things; we are celebrating the arrival of our first official guests, Queen Arya and her Royal Consort Lifaen, King Orik and his beautiful wife Hvedra, Earl of Palancar Valley and my own cousin Roran and his gorgeous wife Katrina and their amazing daughter Ismira and Queen Nasuada. You are the first guests to witness the halls that I now call my home, I am honoured by your presence and I hope this is the first of many, many visits" Eragon said, pausing at the sound of a mighty 'hear hear' from the people in the pavilion "We also have our first of many students that will come to us for training and deployment in the future" to which there was another cheer "But lastly, and one first that is truly dear to myself, today I have the last male members of my blood with me in the same place, I would like my cousin and in my mind, my older brother Roran, who I'd like to invite to come up here with me" He said, holding out a hand to his cousin, pulling him onto the stage "And also I'd like to invite my oldest brother and Roran's cousin on to the stage... Murtagh, come join us" Eragon added, a plea in his voice.
Roran's expression change from happiness to amazement, then to Eragon's surprise he called out "Aye, it is time for us to forget the past, we must look to the future, and we are the last male members of our blood, the three of us have all lost our fathers and our mothers... the orphaned family is what we are... we are all that's left of our family so come join us cousin" He called out
Slowly, Murtagh got up and walked over to them, practically yanked onto the stage by Eragon and Roran, he looked around and saw the audience smiling, Eragon and Roran's words had brought tears in some of their eyes, and he saw Kaira beaming at him, a huge smile upon her face. He saw Thorn looking at him, his eyes shining with content.
Eragon started to speak again "Now Murtagh may have been one that we fought against for a long time but his mind was not his own nor was that of Thorn, he may have injured or maimed us but I do not hold him responsible, the only person that was responsible was of the mad king that is no more... Our pasts are no longer important, all that's important is what we are to do in the future, what we are to do with our lives now..."
"Orik will not be pleased" Saphira said
"Aye, but he must learn to deal with this; he must learn by himself that Murtagh is not to blame for King Hrothgar's death" Eragon replied
Eragon called "And as my gift to you all, for the work we have accomplished, I have discussed with Umaroth and Glaedr and they agree that I should offer you all to the dragon eggs, the ones who the eggs hatch for will be trained by some of the elves here with me which agreed to the task, I had Angela convey my message to the Arya and we agreed that Alagaesia was in need of some dragons in the near future so that the people could come to associate dragons with peace as opposed to destruction..." he finished, letting the message sink in as he sat down with his family
"Thank you Eragon" Murtagh told him
"Aye, you've made me realise today that family is more important than grudges" Roran added
"We have a long road ahead of us..." Eragon said "And what better time to start travelling than now?"
Hope you enjoyed the chapter... remember when Rhunon said Angela wanted her to take something back from Eragon? Well it was a letter confirming his idea! How touching for Eragon's family to be together... I wonder who the eggs will hatch for? I'll give you a hint... It's not Eragon, Murtagh, Arya or the students ;)
