I don't think this will be a weekly story at this point in time but hopefully I can make it right again in the future. Sorry if the quality isn't as good anymore but I'm a little rusty. Sorry again for keeping you waiting! Thanks to those who stuck by me and waited! A slightly longer chapter this time, I hope you enjoy it!

The day passed quicker than expected and soon night approached. A crowd had gathered outside by the sparring fields. Cuaroc knelt on the ground, sword and shield in hand, waiting for Eragon to prepare himself. Eragon drew Brisingr and coated the blade with the same magic that Brom had shown him, inclining for Cuaroc to do the same, after he had done so Eragon took his stance. Cuaroc did the same. Slowly silence fell upon the crowd, Roran, Nasuada, Orik and Arya were sat closest to the ring with the students while Katrina and Ismira were sat further away, disapproving of violence however intrigued by the fight they would be.

Eragon stood across from Cuaroc, his mind focused and his arm steady, no expression and no movements were made, they were eyeing each other, watching each other for the first move, a single twitch but who would move first? Eragon shifted his weight; the sound of feet scraping against the dirt filled the air... tension... nothing happened until slowly Cuaroc moved his right foot forward until... nothing... nothing happened. Eragon lowered his sword an inch but that was all it took... Cuaroc shot out at him, covering the distance in an unnatural speed, Eragon barely had enough time to raise his sword in defence before the sound of blade upon blade cut through the air, Eragon's arm shook... He had never felt such a strong opponent before. He knew that Cuaroc was much... much better than him. Eragon slammed his shield out towards Cuaroc, hoping to push him away to make some room for himself. It worked, Cuaroc jumped back lightly to avoid being hit, his feet sinking into the ground slightly... 'He's heavy... I can't expect to fight him like I would a human; his metal body would be difficult to damage... I can only hope to disarm him' Eragon though, moving towards his opponent, fast, he swung his sword towards Cuaroc's wrist, trying to get as close to his hilt as possible but to no avail, Cuaroc simply shifted his stance and moved out of the way, bringing his sword down towards Eragon's legs.

Eragon dived forward as soon as his attack missed, Cuaroc's sword missing his leg by only an inch. Eragon thanked his luck before rolling to his feet, kicking dust out towards Cuaroc, trying to cloud his vision but only afterwards realising that Cuaroc saw with magic and not with his eyes. Cursing his ignorance he circled the cloud, waiting for the telltale shift in the earth for Cuaroc's movement... there was none, Eragon remained wary... waiting for the dust to settle, as the dust began to clear Eragon saw Cuaroc diving towards him, Eragon brought up his shield in defence, parrying the blow, stabbing towards Cuaroc who in turn blocked his attack, they continued like this, Eragon blocking as much as he could but even his skill couldn't save him from a succession of 6 touches to his body.

While Cuaroc had laid six blows, Eragon still had non to his name. A body that couldn't tire, a body that couldn't be damaged... what was he to do? He felt a familiar presence pushing at his mind, opening it slightly he realised it was Glaedr.

"Eragon listen to me, Cuaroc may be an Eldunari but his mind was linked with that of the greatest swordsman of the Riders, nobody could best him in a fight and there were only three people that came close, Oromis, Vrael and Kuldr" Glaedr told him "The only way you could lay a touch on him is by giving up something, even though Cuaroc isn't his rider he may as well be!"

Eragon readied himself for another onslaught, time passed fast and every opening Eragon saw, he was punished for attempting! Soon the score was twenty to nought. Cuaroc lunged towards him, catching his arm behind the shield. Eragon took his chance. He bent his shield towards his body, allowing Cuaroc to take it off of his arm, as the shield came loose he flung it at Cuaroc's body, hitting him square in the chest, following which he jabbed his sword into Cuaroc's leg. He had succeeded in landing a single touch on Cuaroc.

"ENOUGH!" Came a cry, an unfamiliar voice, Eragon realised it was Cuaroc himself speaking to the gathering "Enough, I am impressed, you have managed to do something that very few others have... you have put on a fight that my rider would have been pleased by... it was a challenge no matter how slight of one and for that I am grateful... I hope the younglings can take note of this fight..." Cuaroc continued before sheathing his sword and laying his shield on his back, walking away leaving Eragon both confused and pleased with himself.

"Well done little one, you fought as fierce as any dragon could" Saphira told him, a pleased expression across her face.

"Thank you Saphira, I know how great of a compliment that is" Eragon replied, looking up to see Kuldr approaching him.

"Eragon, I must say I enjoyed that... such a great fight I haven't seen since the days of the Riders" Kuldr told him, clasping Eragon's hand as he said so before walking inside.

Eragon walked to his room after speaking with everybody else. His mind hurt and his body was sore. He never had a fight with anyone so good but all he wanted to do was sleep... and that is what he did.

Thanks to Arucane for the idea! I hope you enjoyed the fight! I wonder what will happen next? By the way, for those of you 'outraged' at the idea of presenting the eggs... do not be alarmed... There will however be one egg that shall hatch and none other... I wonder who? I actually haven't decided yet...
