I hope you enjoy the chapter! Sorry for taking longer than I usually do to upload these days but it's slightly unavoidable due to multiple reasons that would take too long to delve into :(
"Where did you find him?" Angela asked
"In the bottom of the lake, he was frozen at the bottom" Saphira told her
"Hmm, this is strange, I don't know why but I've seen him somewhere... or someone who looks just like him" Angela replied
"What!" Eragon cried "Angela, what are you saying? This man must be hundreds of years old and he's been frozen down there for at least a few hundred years!"
"Are you forgetting what I told you about never judging anyone by their looks?" Angela replied "Appearances aren't everything, you, who spent a lot of time around elves, should remember this!" She continued, chuckling lightly
"True, but regardless, how do you know him?" Eragon replied, pressing her for answers
"Basically, because I'm a lot older than I seem, I'm not going to tell you how old, but you can estimate the time frame because of the fact I know him! Eragon, there is a reason why I'm known by the oldest elves and dragons! But for now, I want you to listen to me!" Angela told him "Do not wake him again... it is best that you lay him down where he was before, he is a mind changer and a dangerous one! While you can influence people with your mind, he can project his power into them"
"What does thi... what do you mean?" Eragon asked her
"He can control what you think of for weeks, months after first contact, after he is forced out, HE can control you for who knows how long afterwards, he can make you think, fear, feel pride, joy, anger, love and can cause you to do whatever he wishes!" Angela told him "Don't wake him again!" Angela said, a powerful gaze in her eyes and a serious tone which Eragon had never seen her use
"But who is he?" Eragon pressed on
"He's someone who I will not speak about, let's just say that he is more powerful than Galbatorix and his personality is neither good nor evil, he does whatever takes his fancy and usually that ends in anywhere from chaos to peace!" Angela told him "I'd rather not risk the chaos"
"Very well, I'll do as you ask but what if he was to wake... what would we do then?" Eragon asked her
"Well, leave that uncertainty to me, I will stay until I'm certain he is safe to be left alone" Angela said "Luckily for you, which means that there'll be plenty of time for me to do whatever I fancy, from conversations to teaching, I will help you for the time being"
"Very well Angela, I have preparations to make for him to be returned" Eragon said, excusing himself
Angela looked around and saw Kuldr sat on a bench in the hall, chatting with Blodhgarm, she walked over to them both and sat opposite them "Kuldr, tell me, where is your sister?" she asked
"Liotha? She is setting up her rooms, she'll join us here shortly" Kuldr replied
"Very well, I'll wait with you; she's an excellent person to chat with and has wit near enough to match mine!" Angela replied
"Aye, her sarcastic comments used to irritate me and Kuldr to no end" Blodhgarm replied, laughing "I haven't seen her in a few years now although not as much as you cousin"
"True, but still, tell us Angela, what have you seen to the east?" Kuldr asked "I haven't explored the lands to the east since I was eighty!"
"Well, there hasn't been much change... it's still a desert with pockets of towns and the occasional cities, the nearest civilisation I saw was over a hundred miles or so away but travelling distances isn't really a problem for me" She started, laughing "But there were more witches to the east, some good and some bad but the further east I went, the more cities I saw, those of darker skin and black hair, no elves and no dragons but giant creatures, with trunks and tusks... grey in colour with large ears. Foxes and squirrels with two stripes down their back. Eventually, after travelling a few days I saw green lands and forests, pools of water and people worshiping statues and deities like the dwarves. I didn't spend as much time as I liked in the East but I returned feeling content yet rearing to return"
"I wish to see the Eastern lands again some day, I'd rather be exploring but I have a duty to this... school, academy? I'm not really sure what to call it but it's exciting nevertheless" Kuldr confided
"It is, I'd love to be able to sit around and teach but my urges drive me away, the war finished now and I finally have a chance to return to my old life, an explorers life... going wherever I see fit to be" Angela replied
"I envy you" Blodhgarm told her "I love teaching and I enjoy the company of the students but the thing is I never had much chance to 'escape' life and explore, from childhood cousin Liotha and I have been very much confined to the queens orders, I for my magic and her for her ability to 'silence' people, Kuldr was the only one that had freedom however slight" Blodhgarm explained
"Aye, my sister was always the one who was never caught for any of her misdoings, unlike you and me cousin" Kuldr laughed
"You're family is very interesting, I knew your parents Kuldr and your mother Blodhgarm and even they were a fascinating group of elves, the beauty of your sister is renowned in the elven world and even the slightest resemblance of your mother would easily place her in the minds and hearts of others, Kuldr, she will be the start of jealousy amongst the residents here!" Angela said, chuckling
"What are you laughing about Angela?" said an unknown voice
Angela looked up and saw a familiar sight of brown hair with the same protruding ears as her relatives, a beautiful, pale, soft and kind face hiding her nature, a musical and magical voice ensnaring any nearby listeners "Would you stop harassing the other elves, only the three of us sat here are immune to your effect!" Angela told her, smiling
"Very well Angela, It is nice to see you cousin, brother, let us four adults sit and catch up on our lives!" Liotha told them, sitting down next to Angela and pouring herself a drink.
So... I wonder what Liotha has done these past hundred years... considering she was a 'silencer' for the queen it could be quite unique!
