Chapter Sixteen
Marthe's POV
Sorting through all of Bobby's books was a hard process. Even for someone like me who had been doing a degree before ending up in this world was finding it tough.
"Seriously Bobby, you do know that you're officially a hoarder now, right?" I asked, while flicking through the fourth book that was in my pile.
"Funnily enough. I think I've been told that a million times." Bobby answered back, sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes, "Just checking."
"Would these books have any inclination of how to get us home?" Siobhan asked, pointing to her and then me.
"Home?" Dean asked, "Where's home for you?"
"Maybe 5 years into the future? Maybe a totally different universe? Who knows?" I shrugged, now trying to find if there was a section that was titled 'Alternate Universes' under the content.
Dean's eyebrows shot up, "You know that's crazy talk right there, right?"
"And I thought you dealt with crazy everyday." I said, glaring at him.
"Ok, would you two stop arguing like a married couple please?" Bobby asked, earning himself a glare from both Dean and I. ""Good, now maybe you two girls can explain to us where you're from and how you got here."
Siobhan and I looked at each other with worried expressions. To explain to someone that their lives were on a TV show wasn't an easy thing.
"Look, this is going to sound crazy." Siobhan started.
"Crazy is what we do. Spill it out." Dean shrugged.
"No, like really crazy. You won't believe us." I backed up Siobhan, looking at Dean earnestly.
"If you girls don't tell us what it is then we won't be able to judge that for ourselves. At least let us have that much in put in this situation." Bobby sighed, while shuffling through some pages.
I heard Siobhan breathing in a deep breath, "Ok, we're from the future."
I glared at her, "Really? You leave me to reveal the hardest bit?"
"There's more to reveal?" Bobby asked me, staring at me wide-eyed.
I nodded my head, "Yeah, and you won't like it. Where we're from, God how am I going to explain this? Where we're from your lives are a TV show."
Both of the men stared at us. There was silence for a few seconds until Bobby broke it,
"Well, I'll be damned. There are people crazier than us."
I sighed, "We're not crazy. We came into this world believing you lot to be fictional characters. Imagine how we feel like."
Dean put on a supposedly thoughtful expression, "Erm, nope. Sorry, I can't imagine it because it isn't possible!"
Bobby sighed, "Look, the only way we're going to know if these girls are telling the truth is by asking them some personal question."
"Yes, Robert Steven Singer. Now get on with them." Siobhan said, with an eyebrow raised at Bobby.
Bobby looked at her surprised but then shook his head and started asking us questions, "When's Dean's birthday?"
"January 24th. 1979 if we want to be specific." I answered.
Bobby nodded in approval, "Ok then, let's make this a little harder. Name all of Sam and Dean's relatives."
"John Winchester." Siobhan stated.
"Mary Winchester." I stated.
"Henry Winchester."
"Samuel Campbell."
"Adam Milligan." I said, but then looked worriedly at Siobhan.
"Who's Adam Milligan?" Bobby looked curioudly at me.
"Oh, no one important right now." Siobhan said quickly.
"Ok, ok. Now for some really tough questions. Who are my favourite bands?" Dean asked, looking at me directly.
"Black Sabbath? Motorhead? Metellica? Rachel's better at this than me." I said, shrugging.
"Well, you survive for now." Dean said, still looking at me with suspicion.
"So, what do you mean by an alternate universe? Like, how alternate are we talking about here?" Bobby asked, looking at us intently.
"Apart from your lives being a TV show?" Siobhan asked, raising an eyebrow.
Bobby sighed, "Yes, apart from that. Even though it's weird to hear you say it every time."
"Well, as far as we know, there' no monsters in our world." I said, shrugging.
"What do you mean 'as far as we know'?" Dean asked.
"Well, I suppose we're like the people in this world. They probably don't think monsters are real, do they? Otherwise everybody would know about it. Well, it's like that in our world. We can't say for sure that there isn't anything thee but there's never been anything big that's happened that's been unexplainable." Siobhan explained.
Bobby looked at us for a moment and then asked, "Why do you girls watch this show? Why do you watch our lives?"
I felt taken aback by Bobby's sudden question but I regained myself after a few minutes and replied, "Because it's something different than our lives. Our boring lives. We route for you guys all the time. Through and through. You're like family to us."
Dean raised his eyebrow, "But you've never met us. How can we feel like family to you?"
I shrugged, "I suppose we've seen you go through the struggles that you've had to deal with in your life and it makes us feel like we've got to know you through that."
Dean rolled his eyes, "Look, sweetheart, just because you've seen our lives somehow being played out on a TV screen somewhere doesn't mean that you know us. I mean, what did you think of me when you first saw me?"
"Well, obviously I thought you were the actor that plays you. I didn't believe that you were actually Dean Winchester. Then after that confusion passed over with the Pamela incident my first thought was to run a mile from you guys." I confessed, which made Siobhan give me a confused look.
Dean now looked more interested as he asked, "Wht would you want to run a mile from us? Not saying it's not a good idea but I need some evidence here to know that you know what you're talking about."
"Well, with nearly every character that you and Sam know they seem to die. So it's natural that I want to preserve myself as long as possible." I shrugged.
"This kid's got a right mind, at least. What made you change your mind, kiddo?" Bobby asked, making me jump slightly as I found out that I had been staring at Dean a little too long; he was wearing a smirk on his face which implied that he knew what I had been thinking about.
"It was either stay with you guys and risk getting killed or getting killed immediately. I like the first option more." I stated, with Dean still smirking at me.
"I bet you did." Dean joked, giving me a small wink.
"So, before Sam gets back we should do some research on trying to find a way to get you girls back home. Is there anything else you should tell us or are you going to leave it with the 'we're from another universe' talk today and let us have some rest?" Bobby asked, while flicking through one of his many books.
"Well, there is one more thing. Not a big thing, mind." Siobhan said, tentatively.
"Go on." Bobby said kindly, giving Siobhan a nod of encouragement.
"It's our friend, Rachel, the one we've been talking about. We believe she too may be in this world with us but we don't know for sure yet. We were wondering if we could hitch a ride with you three for a while and along the way we could search for her?" Siobhan bodly asked them, with a look of worry on her face.
Dean shrugged, "Yeah, sure. We weren't going to leave you girls here without anywhere to go to and we'll make sure we find this Rachel girl. Don't want her to fall into the wrong hands."
Siobhan smiled, "That's exactly why we're worried. Thanks for being understanding."
Dean brushed the compliment off, "Don't be thanking me. Now, c'mon, we need to get back to researching how I came back from hell and how you two came to be here."
"No rest for the wicked." I muttered, and received a smirk from Dean before we both dived back into the books that we were reading.
