First, a disclaimer. Xiaolin Showdown is owned by Christy Hui and Warner Bros entertainment.

Vamp: New chapter. It's like hell froze over. If you haven't seen it yet, I updated all the previous chapters. You don't have to re-read them, it's all your own call. To those who wanted the Monkey Staff, it will be showing up a bit later, when Jack's personality begins to be a bit more solidified. I would also like to state, for the record, that my headcannon for Jack is that he is, at least, bi. So any pairings are open. There is a poll in my profile to pick which one you like, and I'm going to go for an organic sort of growth for the relationship, whomever it is.

Anyway. Enjoy.

Chapter 5: Jack discovers Shen Gong Wu

The green eyes rolled with a scoff.

"Cute Jack. Playing the fool." The figure began to slip from the shadows. "Though, with you, who can tell?" she teased cruelly. Jack frowned at the jab.

The figure was tall and slim. She wasn't a model by any means, but was rather attractive in a sharp way. She wore a formfitting leather cat suit that hugged her modest curves, clinging to her hips to make up for her small chest. Her hair was golden as wheat, and cut short around her face, covered by a hood with pointy black cat ears. Three whisper marks were sketched onto the edges of her checks in dark make-up, making her face seem more feral. Her fingers, curved at her hips, were tipped in deadly sharp claws that made his heart skip nervously. A large belt with the letter K was cinched at her waist.

He'd have given her a solid eight if not for her rude behavior. More of a six and a half.

Jack licked his lips nervously and pulled his robe a little tighter around him. He wished one of those robots had brought some clothes. At least some boxers would have made this more comfortable.

The blonde seemed amused by his nervousness and slunk towards him, like a cat after a mouse. He felt his heart beat a bit faster, and he pulled himself up a bit taller. He was maybe an inch taller than her, her heels probably what made them closer.

She cocked her hip, resting a paw on it and pointed a sharp claw at him.

"You know why I'm here, Jack. Let's not play games. Just give me the Eye of Dashi and I'll be on my way." She turned her hand over, palm out, expectantly.

Jack stared at her blankly. What in the fresh hell was an Eye of Dashi. And he definitely could hear caps in there. They continued to stare at each other before her bored expression twisted into a glare.

"What, did you lose it already? I told you I needed it, you moron." She growled at him, turning away and walking towards the table. She hefted herself up, sitting on the edge. She crossed her legs and snarled at him. "You really can't do anything right, can you?"

Jack felt as if he'd been slapped. Who the hell was this chick to come in here and treat him so awfully?

"Listen-" he began, feeling angry.

"No, you listen, Jack!" she shouted, slapping her hand down on the table. "We had a deal! You give me the Eye of Dashi, I pay for some of your new machinery. I held up my end of the bargain, and what do you do? You lose the one thing I ask you to get me!" she shouted, picking up a wrench from behind her and winging it at him.

He threw himself to the ground, just barely managing to get another head wound. His eyes widened at her, and he felt himself shaking. She could have killed him!

The blonde stared at him in disgust for a moment, which slowly faded away to irritation. "Oh, come on, Jack, the monks throw fireballs at you and you barely flinch, I throw a wrench and you turn into a whiny girl?" she scoffed, and turned away from him, getting down from the table.

She walked to one of the bookcases filled with half-finished parts and pushed it to the side. Behind it was a simple safe. Jack blinked at it, still shaking from the near-miss with the wrench. It seemed very out-of-place here, looking too shiny and new for the wall it was in.

And it didn't really match any of the other metal objects. Had it been made by someone else?

Jack lifted himself up and stumbled over to the blonde, watching her clicking a combination into place. 3-4-5. Who uses something so simple? He frowned at that. What kind of idiot? That was almost as bad as 1-2-3!

She threw it open, grumbling to herself. "If I can't get the eye, I might as well get something for my troubles."

Jack leaned forward, looking over her shoulder. Inside was the oddest set of objects he'd ever seen. They looked like they belonged upstairs with the other expensive objects instead of in a safe hidden behind a bookcase.

There was a set of chopsticks that didn't seem very special, a strange little red and gold coin with holes through it, a little black and bronze ring with a dragon etched on it, and a diamond-shaped object with a ruby in the center that looked a bit like an eye.

"You do have the Eye of Dashi!" the blonde shouted, snatching it up. She turned to him, flinching that he was so close. "You little- you were going to hide it from me." She pushed him out of the way, leaving the safe open.

He rubbed his chest for a second before shutting the safe, watching her saunter. His eyes flickered to her swinging hips before shaking his head.

Not the time.

"This is purr-fect." She cooed, running a finger over it. Jack scrunched his nose at the pun, walking over. An odd inclination overcame him and he yanked the Eye from her hands. She squawked in disbelief as he turned it over in his hand.

"So what exactly is the Eye of Dashi?" he asked her.

Before she could respond, the object glowed. He stared at it surprise and then yelped as a bolt of lightning shot from it. The strength of it caused the Eye to shoot from his hand, and a bolt of lightning hit the empty wall, blowing a large hole in it.

Jack and the blonde stared at the hole in shock.

Vamp: Didn't get much longer. I wanted it longer. I'll keep trying.

Jack would destroy his own lair. Poor stupid bastard. It's not going to be fixed immediately, but this isn't a real setback. I've actually written this chapter about ten times, in ten different ways. I don't know if this ended up working, but I think I like where it's at.
