Chapter Seventeen

Rachel's POV

The attack on Josephine had upset me more than I realised. When Crowley had whisked me back to the mansion I nearly collapsed on him.

"Woah, there girl. I know I'm attractive but you don't need to throw yourself at me." Crowley joked, but quickly stopped when he saw what kind of condition I was in.

I guess I looked terrible as tears were running down my face but all I was thinking about was remembering how to breathe. I seemed to have been keeping the shock inside me until this moment and only now was my body letting out all of the panic it had been holding in.

"JACE! FELIX! GET DOWN HERE NOW! RACHEL NEEDS ASSISTANCE!" Crowley bellowed, while he laid me down on a sofa.

There was a swish in the air and there were two pairs of strong arms holding me to help Crowley with laying me down on the sofa. After they had laid me down Crowley instructed them,

"Make sure she's as comfortable as possible. I need to go and do a few errands. I'm probably going to be back late."

"Are you sure about this boss? She's under your protection; you should be the one watching her." Jace tried to point out.

"She lives here; it doesn't mean that she's under my protection. I'm allowing her to live under my roof but that won't stop me from doing my job properly and it shouldn't stop you from doing yours either." And with that Crowley quickly left the room in a swooshing sound.

I heard a sigh and then Felix commented, "Should we be getting her comfortable then? Like the boss ordered?"

"Well, you can Felix. I'm off to do something more valuable with my time and not have it wasted on some human." Jace replied, and then walked away.

The last thing I heard before I blacked out was a sigh escaping from Felix and him muttering, "Where will he ever give me a break? Probably never."

Just seconds after that darkness overtook me and I blacked out for what seemed like the millionth time.

Crowley's POV

"Crowls! We thought you'd never show. We were starting to get worried about you. We were actually just planning your search party." An annoyingly familiar voice reached my ears.

"Oh, really? I feel honoured. Angels wouldn't lower themselves down to the level of helping out a demon. Oh, wait; they do." I answered, glaring over at the culprit of the voice.

"Now, c'mon boys. You know working like this won't get us anywhere." A new voice tried to reason with us.

"But Balthazar you know how much fun it is to whine Crowley up. I can't miss a chance when I see one."

"And that, Gabriel, is why you'll probably end up dead." Balthazar tried to reason with his brother.

Gabriel huffed in annoyance but then carried on questioning me as if nothing had happened, "So, why were you late Crowls? Not like you to be late."

I sighed, "Let's just say a complication arose that I had to deal with. My life has become a lot crazier than it usually is."

Gabriel's right eyebrow rose and a curious look spread across his face, "You mean even more crazy than usual? King of the Crossroads has got to be a crazy job, right? Why is it even more crazier now?"

"For Lucifer's sake, Gabriel, just drop it. To be honest, I don't know the full story of why she's here myself-" I stopped myself but it was too late.

Gabriel stared at me, "She? Now you have to tell me the full story."

"Maybe he has reasons, brother, as to not to tell us. It's really not our business. Plus, we need to get back to the point at hand." Balthazar looked pointendly at me.

Gabriel looked at both Balthazar and I before saying, "Balthazar, that can wait. If Crowls here has a lady friend that we don't know about I say we deserve to know."

I sighed in frustration at both the usage of that nickname and the persistence of Gabriel's question. In the end I knew that Gabriel wouldn't give in and I had to give up, "Ok, I'll tell you the whole story but, as I said, I don't know the details yet."

Gabriel shrugged, "Fine by me."

While I was telling both Balthazar and Gabriel the story I thought and the girl in question. What she was telling me was rather unbelievable but the way she told it I just knew that she couldn't have made it up. Why would she? I still needed to grind out some more information on her as to how she got here but, as far as I could tell, she seemed to be genuine. Gabriel was a good audience member. He gasped at the right times and he seemed to be listening intently. By the end of my story, however, both Balthazar and Gabriel were looking at me with confused expressions.

"So, she's from the future? How is she from the future?" Gabriel asked me, sounding extremely confused.

"And I thought Angels knew everything." I chimed in, earning myself a glare from Gabriel.

"Not everything, no. But almost everything." Gabriel corrected me.

"Is there any chance of us seeing her at all? What's she called again?" Balthazar asked.

"Rachel and yes, she's over at my place now actually." I informed him.

"Is that you inviting us to your place, Crowls? I can't remember the last time that we got to visit your house. Must have been over 50 years ago. You were a lot handsomer then. You've let yourself go a bit now." Gabriel smirked at me.

"Watch it, Trickster, or I'll take back my offer as easily as I gave it." I threatened.

Gabriel rolled his eyes, "Fine. C'mon then, brother. Are we not going to see this mysteriously girl of Crowley's?"

"She's not mine." I automatically said.

Gabriel's eyes twinkled in mischief, "Well, that's good to know. Now I know I can have some fun with her."

Before I could try to stop him had vanished out of the room. I knew I would find him, without a doubt, at my house to probably try and find Rachel.

Balthazar sighed, "You knew he would probably try and do something of that nature. Let's go before he frightens the poor girl to death."

I nod and both Balthazar and I vanish out of the room together with a swooshing sound.

Rachel's POV

I heard a light thud of shoes hitting the ground once I had become fully conscience again. I had only blacked out for a few seconds, thankfully, and had quickly come around. Just as I was pushing myself up with my elbows I heard two pairs of feet stomping towards the sofa I was laying on.

"I warn you now that we do not take to intruders lightly." Jace's voice was the first to be heard.

"Ah, I was wondering when Crowl's bodyguards were going to show up. Nice to meet you now would you be so kind in letting carry out my task?" A familiar voice asked.

"You know Crowley? And not if you're going anywhere near Rachel." Felix said, defensively.

"So, this is the girl Crowley was going on about. Interesting." The voice mused.

Crowley had been talking about me? And to who? I knew that voice but I couldn't pin down a name to the voice and it was frustrating me.

"Brother, I knew you were going to cause some sort of scene. It's good that Crowley and I decided to follow your trial." A new voice came into the conversation, this one too familiar.

"I'm just curious about the girl, brother. Curiousity shouldn't be deemed as a sin. I'm just wanting to gain further knowledge about her."

"You could have just asked me, Gabriel. I don't want you frightenting my house guest." Crowley's voice said.

Awww, Crowley actually worried about me. Wait. Gabriel? As in the Archangel Gabriel? I turned around as quickly as I could and saw both Gabriel and Balthazar looking at me intently. It seemed that my mouth couldn't work for a few minutes but after a few minutes of waiting I was finally able to get out,

"Gabriel? Balthazar? Why the hell are you here? Why the hell are you with Crowley? What's going on?"

At the expressions that they gave me I knew that I had just asked them something that they thought I had no knowledge of. The angels both looked at Crowley for some answers and, what seemed like ages, he finally said,

"Darling, I think we'll need some answers from you about how you know so much. Don't worry, we won't torture you but we do need to know exactly why you know us."

I nodded and settled down for what was going to be a long few hours of questioning.

Hey guys! Haven't talked to you in a while! Hope you enjoyed this chapter! Gabriel and Balthazar! 3 Hopefully I've got them in character :') Thank you to those of you who spotted that there was something wrong with my previous chapters. I've been having trouble uploading my files and copying and pasting from word so I've had to result in typing the chapter up by reading it through on word and typing it up on copy n' paste. My hands are aching now but it's all for you guys :P What did you guys think of The Hunter Games? I absolutely loved it. I love how we are getting to know all of the characters separately and its not just the Winchester brothers (although I still love them) anymore. It adds more to the storyline. I do not trust Rowena at all but I still think she's a badass ;D Anyways, I'll see you all next week with Chapter 18! Hope you have a great weekend/rest fo the week! Toodles! x
