Chapter 27

Rachel's POV

For the rest of the day I spent it all in the library and went about searching what books they owned. There were three levels of books and ladders were leant against the bookcases looking at what looked like books that no one had touched for years. There was a thick layer of dust on every book that I picked out. Books such as Demons and their Origins, The Fires of Hell and Satan and his Workings.

"An interesting choice of reading material." Crowley's voice floated into my ears.

I jumpled slightly and nearly dropped the book I was holding but I was able to catch it quickly, "I was wanting to gain more information on this world."

"Obviously. How did the shopping trip go? Get anything you like?" Crowley asked, eyeing me.

"I found the perfect dress. You'll just have to wait until tonight." I smirked at him, flipping through another book.

Crowley smirked back, "I'm looking forward to it. Why aren't you getting ready now? The party is two hours away."

"What!? I didn't realise the time." I said, hurriedly putting the book back in its shelf.

Crowley chuckled, "I'll take you to your room. Rosemary will be waiting to help you get ready. I have to get ready myself since Lucifer will be there."

"Ohhh, I'll get to see you all smart and looking spiffy." I said, giggling.

"Well, I'm glad you like the thought of that," Crowley smirked, "You do know who will be there right?"

"I'm guessing a lot of demons who I won't like?" I guessed.

Crowley sighed, "Alistair and Ruby will be there. Do you know of them?"

I grimaced, "Yes. They weren't my favourite characters of the show. Especially not Alistair. He always gave me the creeps."

"And with good reason too. I'll make sure to protect you. Now, c'mon, let's get you to your room." Crowley said, and suddenly putting an arm around my waist and teleporting me to the ground.

I nodded and let Crowley whisk me to my room where I found Rosemary waiting for me.

"I'll be looking forward to seeing your outfit." Crowley commented, smirking at me.

I rolled my eyes before closing the door, "Well, you'll have to wait so if you'd excuse us you may leave."

Crowley continued to smirk at me, "By my leave I'll leave you ladies. Hope you don't enjoy yourself too much without me."

"Go! Now!" I ordered him, and when he had finally left the room I turned around to face Rose.

Rose seemed to be staring at me before I asked her, "What?"

"No one ever talks to him like that and gets away with it." She stated.

I shrugged, "I must be special then."

Rose chuckled before she got to work on getting me ready for the party. She tripped me down out of my clothes and got me in the bath.

"Why am I going in a bath? Shower is the easier option." I complained, getting into the warm water and the relaxing water.

"I want you to be well scrubbed up and clean. No bit of dirt will be left on your skin when I'm finished with you." Rose told me, scrubbing on my arms.

"Ouch!" I yelped, but then kept quite as Rose scrubbed me all over.

Rose rolled her eyes at me and went on with her work.

"So, are you and the boss together?" Rose asked me.

I sighed, "Why does everyone think that we're together?"

"You seem to be close to him. Too close and he seems to have an interest in you." Rose explained.

"Well, sorry to spoil any gossip you may have wanted to form about us but there's nothing to report. Just smart-arsed comments." I shrugged.

"Well, make sure your smart-arse mouth keeps shut during the party and that you follow Crowley's orders." Rose told me, looking sternly at me.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll make sure I'm with Crowley at all times." I told her.

Rose clucked at me before returning to work on my appearance. After she had finished on my body I got out of the bath and immediately wrapped my body with a towel.

"Now time to shave you." Rose said matter-of-factly, and then reached for some shaving materials and started on my legs.

When she had finally finished with those I was able to make sure that I shaved under my arms. When all was done and dusted I grabbed some underwear and put it on and wrapped a dressing gown around my body.

"Are you wanting to use make up tonight?" Rose asked me, while going towards a vanity table which was next to one of the bookcases.

I nodded and looked into the draw with the make up and chose whatever there was to select from. Surprisingly there was a lot of choice in brands so I chose a Rimmel primer and eye primer, Nars concealer, a Nars eye palette, a covergirl foundation, a Nars blush, the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and some setting powder. Since I only had an hour and a half left I quickly put the make up on my face with as much accuracy as I could. Before I set my make up I highlighted parts of my face; my nose, cheeks and the tip of my mouth. When I had finished I turned around to face Rose for the final round of getting ready.

"Are you ready to put this beauty on?" Rose asked me, smiling.

I nodded and let my dressing gown fall to the floor and stood still so that Rose could put the dress over me without damaging it. As the dress fell over my body I felt the soft material touch my body and felt just how comfortable it was. I didn't look down to see its effect until after it was fully on my body. When it was on completely I went to the full length mirror that was near my chest drawers and glanced up and down at my reflection.

"You look beautiful, Rachel." Rose commented, smiling at me.

I smiled, "C'mon, let's get me finished. I bet Crowley will be waiting impatiently."

Rose nodded and towel dried and blow dried my hair and because it was short it was able to dry quickly. I brushed it through and then put on my Chanel flat shoes and grabbed my clutch and threw in my phone and some money that Rose gave me which had apperantely been from Crowley himself.

"Let's go. Sir will be waiting." Rose said, opening the door out of my bedroom.

"You can teleport me if you want. I'm used to it; Crowley's made me used to it." I explained to her.

Rose raised her eyebrow, "If you're sure."

I nodded and felt an arm wrap around me and suddenly I was in the foyer with Crowley in front of me. Crowley had a surprised look on his face when I appeared and I couldn't tell if he was surprised at my appearance (good or bad) or at my arrival style.

"What's this? Did she allow you permission to drag her here the way you did?" Crowley asked Rose, looking at her angrily.

"Crowley," I said, "She's not to blame. I allowed her to transport me that way."

Crowley turned to me with a curious expression, "As long as you're sure that you're fine with other demons beside myself?"

"Crowley, stop being too protective of me. Of course Rose can transport me as well as any of your other minions." I told him, while linking my arm through his.

He was looking handsome tonight. He had a cleaned shaved face and he was wearing a crisp suit with a tie and black shoes. His hair was combed smartly as well.

He smirked, "Liking what you see, love? I must say, you're looking especially beautiful tonight."

I smirked back, "Very much. You're such a charmer. Now, c'mon, we shouldn't keep Lucifer waiting."

Crowley nodded and then we vanished into thin air before I could say anything to Rose. It only took a few seconds for us to arrive at the venue. It was a grand old house that looked like it had been built in the Victorian period. Before we had a chance to step into the house Crowley pulled me aside,

"There will be demons in there, love, but there will be other supernatural creatures in there too. I don't know all of them but there will be creatures that we know of and they have agreed to protect you. Jace and Felix are already here since I wanted them to scan the crowd to see if there were any potential threats. If you stick by me, though, you should be safe."

"How reassuring." I commented, sarcastically but then turned back to being serious, "Crowley, why are you even bothered about me? I'm just an unimportant human."

Crowley shrugged, "You have useful knowledge and I don't want that getting into the wrong hands."

"And you wouldn't consider yourself as part of that?" I questioned him, raising an eyebrow.

"Don't you trust me?" Crowley asked me, as if it was one of the most obvious questions to ask.

"No! You're a demon. I don't trust any demon. But, if you're asking me if I trust you more than any other demon, then the answer would be yes." I said, smiling slyly at him.

Crowley rolled his eyes, "Right one you are. Well, let's get this party started then."

I linked his arm through mine and we entered the foyer. It was a grand entrance with a massive chandelier hanging from the ceiling and two staircases leading up to the first level. There were two guards at either side of the stairs and when Crowley and I drew nearer one of them stepped towards us.

"Invitation?" He asked, holding his hand out.

Crowley let go of my arm for just a moment to fish out of his jacket pocket a card which had obviously been our invitation. The host, which was probably who he actually was, looked at it and nodded to us,

"Welcome to the event. Just walk ahead to those doors and you'll be in the correct room."

We both nodded our thanks and continued onto where the doors were. When we got to the correct doors Crowley grabbed both of the handles and flung it open. I didn't know what I had imagined a supernatural party to be like but it had definitely not been like the one that I was seeing now. Hundreds of demons, angels, vampires, werewolves (probably; there were still in their human form if they were), shape shifters and any other supernatural being that you could think of was there. I gaped at the large room with the beings occupying it and the grandeur of it all. There was a dancefloor with a DJ playing some music and there was a bar right next to it. Just a little further away from the dancefloor there was a restaurant type area where beings could just sit down and relax. I was trying to comprehend all of this information but got interrupted by Gabriel's voice,

"Crowley! You came. And you bought your girl with you too. That's great; we didn't get much time to talk before."

I turned around on my heel and was face to face with the angel, "Listen, wise guy. If you think I'm going to fall for your charm you're mistaken. Since I'm from the other world I know pretty much all there is to know about you and that is that you're a coward. So, if you'd be so kind to leave me, I'd appreciate that."

Gabriel stood there gapping at me while Crowley was probably trying to decide whether to stare at me or to smirk at Gabriel. However, it wasn't long before Gabriel shook himself and said,

"You've got a right one here, Crowls. I'm impressed. But I think she needs to know when she's crossing the line."

I raised an eyebrow, "You're threatening me? You may be an archangel but I have all the knowledge, don't you remember? Lucifer wants me here and I'm guessing he wants me for something so I think it's best if you don't smite me so that you don't have a death wish. But, if I'm mistaken and it's a death wish that you want, then by all means go ahead and kill me."

"Can we just stop it here, please? I don't want the two of you getting killed on my watch." Crowley said, interjecting our argument.

"But Crowley..." Gabriel started, whining at him.

"No." Crowley stated firmly, glaring at the angel.

Gabriel huffed and, with a final glare in my direction, went on his way. Crowley sighed before saying to me,

"Don't worry about him. He'll be over it soon. In half an hour he'll have probably forgotten about it."

"He's a strange one that one." I commented, walking towards the bar with Crowley in toe.

"Isn't that correct. I don't know why I'm friends with him sometimes." Crowley admitted.

"You see the good in him. I do too. I know there's good in him somewhere and he'll show it. It'll just take some time." I told him, sitting at an empty bar stool while 'Poker Face' by Lady GaGa blared from the speakers.

Crowley ordered us some drinks when I had told him my preference of drink and we turned around to watch the crowd. There were not many faces that I knew of which made it even more frightening to be here but, at the same time, it felt like an adventure.

"It's weird to hear music from five years ago." I shouted over the music.

Crowley chuckled, "Lady GaGa no popular in 2014 then?"

"Oh, she's still popular it's just weird hearing these songs." I explained, reaching for my drink and then suddenly finding that I'd bumped into someone, "Oh goodness, I'm so sorry."

"No need to apologise. It wasn't your fault." A smooth British voice told me.

I turned my head quickly to see someone that I would have never thought possible to meet; Niklaus Mikaelson. His blond hair was combed smartly back and he was also wearing a crisp suit but with a bow tie which definitely suited him. My throat constricted before I turned to Crowley and dragged him away from Klaus. Even thought I knew he had more demon strength than I did it seemed that he was letting me drag him away. When we were at a safe distance away from Klaus I turned on him,

"Why didn't you tell me that the Mikaelsons were here? Is there any other family that I should know about who's here?"

Crowley stared at me before answering, "Who the hell are the Mikaelsons? If I had known that family and knew if they were long to be a danger to you then I would have told you. However, I've never heard of them."

It was my turn to stare, "You've never heard of the original vampire family?"

Crowley's stare grew cold, "The original what?"

"The original vampire family." I repeated, "They're 1,000 years old and they're the first vampire family."

"And why should I be afraid of them, exactly? They don't seem to be a threat." Crowley commented, raising an eyebrow.

"You don't understand! They're one of the most dangerous vampire families in existence. Don't underestimate them." I warned him.

"And what makes them different to any other vampires I've met? They're just monsters who can't control themselves. Nothing I haven't dealt with before." Crowley waved off my comment.

I rolled my eyes, "It's your funeral."

"The lady's right." A voice from behind us interrupted us, "You'd be a fool to think otherwise."

We both turned around sharply to see a smug faced Damon Salvatore looking at us and Crowley demanded,

"Who the hell are you?"

"Damon Salvatore, at your pleasure." Damon introduced himself, winking at me which made Crowley put his arm around my wasit in protection which made me want to sigh in frustration but I held it in.

I gulped, "A pleasure."

Out of the corner of my eye I could see that Klaus was coming towards us as Damon continued,

"What's a human doing in a being party?"

"That's exactly what I would like to know, Salvatore." Klaus commented, as he walked up towads us.

Crowley tensed, "I don't think it's any of your business to know that information."

Klaus tipped his head to the side, "Oh, I think I do. I like to know who every new face is around here."

"Crowley, don't. It's alright. My name's Rachel. Rachel Colley." I introduced myself.

"Such a pleasure. Boys, leave us now." A new voice came into the conversation.

I looked up to find the one and only Lucifer standing inbetween Damon and Klaus. Damon and Klaus looked surprised for a moment at his appearance but then regained their previous composure.

"C'mon, Lucifer, man. We just want to know who this lovely girl is." Damon said, smoothly.

Lucifer gave a steely glare at him and it seemed that both Klaus and Damon got the message and they backed off. Just as they were doing so Lucifer turned around to face me and held out an arm,

"Care to dance?"

I looked towards Crowley for confirmation and he gave it. I nodded back slightly and took Lucifer's arm. There were glances our way as we made our way to the dancefloor.

"Well, thank you for making me the centre of attention." I said, sarcastically.

Lucifer smirked at me, "You're welcome. I had to steal you away from Crowley once I'd learned that you were here."

"Well, it's nice to know boys take an interest in me." I commented, turning towards him once we had got on the dancefloor.

Lucifer's smirk dropped, "I'm not a boy. You know that perfectly well."

"You certainly act like one." I countered back, realising how reckless I was being.

"And how do you know that? Is it that power that I've heard about that you possess?" Lucifer asked, taking my hand and putting a hand on my waist.

I titled my head in confusion, "What power? I wouldn't say I have a 'power' exactly. A curse, maybe."

"A curse? Please do explain." Lucifer told me.

I sighed, "Im guessing you're not going to let me go without telling you, are you?"

Lucifer nodded, "You guessed right."

I looked over to where Crowley had been and saw that he was staring at us intently. I gave him a quick nod to shwo that I was alright and then turned back to Lucifer,

"Look, I'll tell you everything. Just promise me that you won't use it against me or anyone I care about."

"I don't think you're in a position to compromise. Are you forgetting I'm Satan?" Lucifer looked at me coldly.

I shrugged, "Well, it's a good thing I never believed in you, isn't it? It makes you less scary."

Lucifer looked at me thoughtfully for a moment before saying, "Fine. It's a deal and not a demon crossroads deal; just a regular deal. Now, tell me what's this 'curse' that you have."

I looked warily at him before I continued, "I come from a different world. A world where there's no monsters and definitely no you. In that world this whole world is a story. A TV show. I know the future of this world."

There was a silence for a moment but Lucifer broke it, "How do I know you're telling the truth?"

"Well, I know those two beings who I just talked to were Damon Salvatore and Klaus Mikaelson. I know that Damon resides at Mystic Falls and that Klaus currently resides at New Orleans, I believe. I'm not sure if that is where his living quarters are. I do know a lot about their pasts though." I told him, following the beat of the music around the dancefloor.

Lucifer looked impressed but then went on, "Impressive. Although I need to know that you know what you're talking about. Do you know anything about my brothers?"

"What do you want to know? I know many things." I said, sweeping my eyes across the room to see if I could spot anyone.

"Who are they? You must know their names." Lucifer said, looking at me curiously.

"Well, there's Castiel, Balthazar, Gabriel, Raphael and Michael." I answered, shrugging.

"Either you know a lot about religion or..." Lucifer said, trailing off.

"Or I just love the Supernatural show a lot?" I finished for him, raising an eyebrow.

"And which brother do you prefer?" Lucifer asked me.

I looked at him curiously and tried to determine whether or not he was trying to catch me out before answering, "I prefer Castiel, Gabriel and Balthazar all equally. They may have their faults but they will learn from them."

Lucifer nodded and, without warning, began to lead me back off the dancefloor when the song had finished,

"Crowley will be worried about you. He has strangely become attached to you."

"Nothing's going on between us." I said, quickly.

Lucifer smirked at me, "That's what they all say. Anyway, it's been a pleasure. I hope I didn't scare you too much."

Before I could even say 'goodbye' he had vanished and was no where in sight. Suddenly there was people everywhere and questions were being asked from all directions before I put my hands up in a stopping motion,

"Can you all just stop please?"

Thanfully everybody listened and I was able to get a look at the people around me. First off Crowley who had a worried look on his face. Second, was Felix who was also worried. Third, was Jace who looked bored out of his mind as usual. Fourth, was Bela who seemed slightly concerned but seemed to be trying not to show it. Fifth, was Gabriel and his emotions were slipping through and it was nice to see the side of him that cared. And lastly there was Balthazar who looked a little like Jace.

"Darling, what did he want?" Crowley asked me, making sure he was the one to ask the first question.

I sighed, "I'm fine, Crowley. He just wanted to know what 'power' I had. That's what everyone's calling it these days apparently."

"And that's all he wanted? There was no deal?" Felix asked me.

"No outstanding one, no." I told him.

Bela looked at me curiously, "Wait. No outstanding one? What does that mean?"

Crowley looked at me curiously as well before I continued, "He wouldn't let me go before I told him who I was and what knowledge I had. I allowed him to know but made sure he wouldn't use the information to hurt me or anyone I cared about."

"Aww, you care about us. How sweet." Jace said, sarcastically.

Felix glared at Jace, "You might want to be a little more concerned for her well being. She just faced Satan."

Jace shrugged, "Well, good for her. To be honest, I couldn't care less."

Felix tried to make a comeback but I interrupted him, "Boys, can we just stop this now? I wouldn't mind getting back to the masnion. It's been one hell of a night. Pun intended."

Crowley chuckled as he nodded in agreement and gave his arm which I gratefully took. We ended up in my bedroom and I smiled slightly,

"Thank you. I didn't want to stay in that place long enough to meet Ruby and Alistair."

Crowley nodded, "I know but you will have to meet them one day if you are still considering staying here."

"Where else would I go? Anyway, I've grown quite fond of this place. I could get used to living here." I said.

Crowley gave me a small smile, "C'mon, get to bed. I bet you're exhausted."

I nodded and then waved him out of the room, "Go. I need to get dressed. Don't bother getting Rose. I can deal with this all myself."

Crowley still had a half smile as he made his way to the door. When he was at the door way he turned and said,

"Thank you for being their tonight. I know it was tough but you did well. Good night."

I wished him a good night and when the door had closed I stripped out of my clothes. I wiped off as much make up as I could be bothered to and then searched for some pajamas. I found the section and had to laugh when I found a pair of grey and red ones with the words 'I'm on the naughty list' on the chest. I decided to put them on just for Crowley to see in the morning and then I climbed into bed. I didn't have much time to think before my head hit the pillow and I was fast asleep.
