Chapter 36
Marthe's POV
We were all inside of the Impala waiting for a sign of Jack. Siobhan and I had settled in the back of the car and were waiting for anything to happen. Dean and Sam were in the front and peering through some binoculars to get a better look. Just as we were all getting bored since nothing was happening we saw Jack running across the yard in front of us and towards the woman's building.
"Damn it. Jack. No." Sam cries out a little in despair at the sight of Jack.
With a sigh he pulled up the flamethrower and got out of the car. Dean does the same and nods to the two of us to follow. Once we've all got out of the car Dean said,
"Come on."
We run across the yard to the house where Jack was last seen entering into and when we reach it both the boys kick down the door with their flamethrowers at the ready
The woman in the hallway looked at us with alarm and then made her way back into her bedroom that she had just come out of. Before she fully shuts the door Dean called out,
"Wait!"
However this doesn't help at all and the woman slammed the door in our faces.
"Great." Siobhan muttered.
Dean looked a bit confused and walked towards the door with uncertainty before saying,
"Woah, uh, we're here to save you, I guess."
I looked towards Siobhan and rolled my eyes and said, "Yeah, I bet she feels real safe with you two waving flame-throwers about."
Dean glared at me a little but he couldn't say anything since the woman at the other side of the door declared,
"I'm calling the police!"
"We should go." Sam told us, heading back the other way.
"Yeah." Dean agreed.
Sam and Siobhan left the building and I followed suit but stayed near Dean as he pulled the broken door shut and gave out an embarrassed laugh.
"It's not your fault, Dean. Anyone could have mistaken one house for another." I told him, trying not to laugh.
Dean playfully glared at me a little but we didn't say anything as we walked towards where Sam and Siobhan were waiting for us by the Impala probably trying to figure out what our Plan B was going to be.
Dean drove down the road until we found a house that had Travis' truck which is parked near what must be Jack's house. Dean looked over to Sam for some kind of confirmation and Sam just nodded. We all got out slowly out of the Impala as the boys reached for their flame-throwers.
"I guess now we know where Travis is." Dean commented.
"No shit, Sherlock." Siobhan joked.
As we make our way towards the house Sam commented,
"That stupid son of a bitch."
This makes me, Dean and Siobhan all look at him curiously but we keep walking towards the house. When we reached the porch steps we stopped and listened to see if there was any disturbances. When we don't hear anything Dean opened the door and stepped slowly into the hallway. He nodded towards Sam to let him know that he should follow and we all follow him into the house. The hallway doesn't seem to have any feeling that it's been broken into to but something is here disturbing the peace. I could feel it.
Suddenly a flash of light and pain hit me full force and it felt like I was being knocked out by something heavy. I see Sam and Jack in the living room and catch some of the conversation that is going between them,
"Have you seen me lately?" Jack asked Sam.
"It doesn't matter what you are…" Sam began to say.
I'm cut off from the rest of the conversation as my mind takes me back to reality. The boys and Siobhan stand around me curiously and Siobhan is the first one to step forward and ask,
"Are you ok?"
I nodded, "Just had one of those flashbacks or seeing the future thingies about the boys."
Dean and Sam both looked up at me with keen expressions before Dean said,
"Go on. Tell us what it was."
"It was about Sam. He was talking to Jack and they were in the living room." I explained to them.
"So what you're telling us is that Jack should be in the living room?" Sam asked me.
"Well, duh. That's definitely what she's telling you. Come on, let's try and rescue Jack." Siobhan said, moving forwards into the hallway to the nearest room.
Just as Siobhan has neared the entryway to the living room she gasped at what she saw.
"What is it?" Sam asked, going hurriedly to her side.
"A piece of meat." Siobhan explained, looking slightly paler than normal.
"Is it Travis'?" Dean asked.
Siobhan shrugged but before anyone could say anything else there was a quick flash and someone knocked her out. After a quick struggle Sam was knocked out too.
"Sammy!" Dean cried while I cried out "Siobhan!"
We inch closer to where the two have been knocked out. I take a look at Dean and nod at him and we both step into the living room. I see the meat that Siobhan had described which is near the couch and then I see Jack with some type of metal in his hand.
"I should have known that they would bring back up." Jack said, taking a menacing step towards us.
"Marthe, stay behind me." Dean told me.
"Oh, you're trying to be the hero, aren't you? Well, that's cute but that's not how it works." Jack sneered, and then launched himself at me.
Dean leaps in between myself and Jack to protect me but this only makes the situation worse as Jack easily knocks him out. I gulped as I walked back slightly but Jack was advancing on me quickly.
"No one to save you, sweetheart." Jack said, grinning manically.
He raised his weapon of choice over his head and brought it down with such force that my vision blurred and my world went black before I could even think about what had happened.
It was several hours before I woke up from being knocked out. I found myself on the couch in the living room and I saw that Siobhan was over me with a worried expression on her face. I leaned over her slightly to see where everybody else was and I could see Sam untying Dean who looked like he was just becoming conscious too.
"You missed all the action dude." Sam joked.
"How long were we out for?" I asked Siobhan.
"A couple of hours probably. Sam and I were knocked for a while before we woke up in a closest together." Siobhan told me.
"OOhh, kinky." I smirked, which earned me a playful slap from Siobhan.
"What happened to Jack?" Dean mumbled, obviously too tired to speak properly.
"Let's get you outside and we'll explain everything." Sam said, while looking at Siobhan who nodded and went to help me up.
When we got outside the cool air hit me which helped me to wake up a little. It didn't help me with the headache that I had acquired though.
"Do you want to go to the hospital?" Dean asked me.
"What for?" I asked, trying to feign a brave face.
"To get checked over. I don't know what that Jack guy did to you – wait, he didn't-" Dean started.
"No. no. Nothing like that." I shake my head.
Dean breathed a sigh of relief, "Good. That's good. Anyway, you should get it checked out. It was your first knock out here and I don't want to feel guilty about your safety."
"I'll be fine." I tried to soothe him.
"Ok, as long as you'll tell me otherwise." Dean persisted, while getting into the Impala.
After Sam and Siobhan have explained everything to us about what happened with Jack Dean sets off and there's a silence in the car. After a few minutes Dean said,
"You did the right thing, you know. That guy was a monster, no going back."
I see that Sam lowered his head and Siobhan glared at the back of Dean's head but Dean doesn't seem to notice and carries on,
"Sam, I wanna tell you I'm sorry. I've been kind of hard on you lately."
Siobhan's expression softens a little while Sam turns his head to the window.
"Don't worry about it, Dean." Sam replied.
"It's just that your, uh, your psychic thing, it scares the crap out of me." Dean explained, his nerves showing in his voice.
"Look, if it's all the same…. I'd really rather not talk about it." Sam stated.
Dean looked over and joked, "Wait a minute. What? You don't want to talk? You?"
I couldn't help a little smile on my face at the joke but nobody laughed. The mood was too somber for any joking around right now.
"There's nothing more to say. I can't keep explaining myself to you. I can't make you understand." Sam said.
"Why don't you try?" Dean asked.
"I can't. Because this thing, this blood, it's not in you the way it's in me. It's just something I got to deal with." Sam told him.
"Not alone." Dean stated, looking at us for support in which both Siobhan and I nodded in agreement.
There's silence for a while before Sam continued,
"Anyway, it doesn't matter. These powers… it's playing with fire. I'm done with them." Sam declared.
Dean turned to him and Sam stated,
"I'm done with everything."
"Really?" Dean asked and then continued when Sam looked out of the window, "Well, that's a relief. Thank you."
Sam scoffed before turning his head towards Dean, "Don't thank me. I'm not doing it for you. Or for the angels or for anybody. This is my choice."
Siobhan and I looked at each other with worried expressions since we knew this wasn't going to be the last of Sam's powers that were going to be used. It was just a matter of time.
Hey guys! It's me again! *hides under chair* Sorry I took so long but it's been crazy hectic with college and I'm not off to uni in a few weeks too. I'm going to try and get back into fan fiction writing as much as possible so here's a chapter for you. It's slightly AU but still works I think. Now I can go to Rachel's POV and think about the next episode! Hope you guys have a great week! Toodles! x
