Chapter 2: Revelation

When Giotto arrived at the meeting room, all of his Guardians were already there, including the ever elusive Lampo. As his eyes scanned around the room and took in the presence of his friends, the blond's gaze eventually caught Alaude's and he couldn't help but wonder why his friend's eyes seemed to narrow at his entrance. Furthermore, the look in the platinum-blond eyes unnerved Giotto greatly; it was something akin to urgency mixed with disbelief and disappointment. Saving his enquiry for later, he quickly made his way to his appointed seat and to Giotto and everyone's surprise, the door immediately closed, cutting off the light from the outside and leaving the room to be illuminated by the projector screen and a few lights attached to the wall.

"The information to be disclosed is considered highly confidential and can pose great dangers to Vongola if someone else ever overhears it", Alaude spoke calmly, "Therefore, I'd like all of you to pay attention to what I'm gonna present, especially you, Giotto since you play an important part in it."

Such was grave seriousness in his tone that Daemon, who always sought to pick a fight with Alaude, and Lampo, who tended to drift off to sleep in every meeting, straightened up and shifted their concentration to Alaude. Upon hearing his involvement, Giotto wasted no time to clear his mind off any unnecessary thoughts and mentally prepare himself to make any important decisions regarding to his Famiglia affair.

Once Alaude had the undivided attention of everyone, he appreciatively nodded and motioned everyone to look at the screen. Giotto could feel his heart beat really fast against his rib cage; his intuition was telling him that what Alaude was going to show to them was going to have a huge impact on his life later.

Soon, the whole bright screen was engulfed in the complete darkness and the sound of bell could be heard reverberating the whole room. Yellow letters began appearing, showing the sentence: "Built upon the stone, an evil kingdom was unstoppable. The sinful story of Evil began."

And came the announcement of a "blockbuster movie of 20xx"...

Giotto was speechless.

His other Guardians were speechless, too. Alaude still had his trademark poker face on.

G was the first one to react, "what the fuck! You summoned us all here just to show us a fucking movie trailer!"

And Daemon was the next one, "Nufufufu, it seems birdie has finally lost his mind. Shall I beat some sense into that skull of yours?"

Asari was just...being Asari. "Maa maa, calm down guys. Watching movie together once in a while doesn't seem too bad an idea!"

Giotto was still speechless.

Still maintaining a deadpanned expression on his face, which pissed G even more, Alaude ordered, "Shut up and continue watching, herbivore."

It was then that a creepy maniac laugh echoed and caught the attention of everyone. Giotto immediately cast his eyes back on the screen and felt his heart almost stop.

"Now, bow down to me!"

On the projector screen was none other than... Giotto.

And in the next few minutes, the blond leader and his comrades were rendered utterly stunned as they watched "Giotto" ordering the guards to behead anyone who defied him and initiating the mass genocide of a nation. The movie trailer continued and everyone found out that there were two "Giotto": one with blond hair, orange eyes, who appeared to be the prince and the other with brown hair and brown eyes, who was the servant of the prince.

The reaction of the Vongola varied from person to person; nevertheless, they all shared one common thing in their mind: despite them being acquainted with the dark side of the world, the sheer cruelty and malevolence that was demonstrated by the "Giotto" on screen terrified them to the point that even Daemon shivered at seeing such a sight.

After the trailer had ended, Giotto and his Guardians were still in a daze, not knowing what to say next. However, Alaude had spoken first, snapping everyone back to reality.

"What you just saw was the trailer of the movie "Prince of Lucifer", or "Aku no Monogatari" in Japan. It was released last year, and later became a hit in many countries. Due to various issues, the movie only came to Italy this year and was first shown in Italy last month."

"Whoa, I didn't know you're an actor, Giotto, and a good one as well. You gave me a chill there", Asari commented cheerfully.

Unexpectedly, G exploded in his seat, "Giotto, as your right-hand man, I demand an explanation now. How come you hid your acting career from me?"

"Yeah, it's EXTREMELY not nice to hide such an important thing from us!", Knuckle joined in, looking rather displeased with the new information.

"What...but...but that's not me up there. All of you should have known how busy I am being Vongola's Boss, all days cooped up in the room signing papers mostly for your damages. How can I have time for acting?". Giotto explained hastily and shot an angry glare at his friends, "Alaude, what is the meaning of this? Who is that person and how come he look like me so much?", Giotto asked desperately, hoping his Cloud Guardian would come to his rescue.

However, instead of answering his Boss, the CEDEF leader clicked at another file in his laptop and proceeded to show everyone another video.

Now the screen was showing the scene at a concert packed with people waving neon sticks and banners while cheering for the singer on stage, who was none other than the brown-haired version of Giotto. If Giotto's memory didn't fail him, the singer must be singing some kind of Japanese song, and Giotto gotta admit, the melody sounded pretty catchy.

"Before all of you herbivores make any assumption, the one you're seeing on the screen is not Giotto". Alaude announced and Giotto let out a mental sigh of relief. "The identity of the person you're watching right now is Tsunayoshi Shirosaki, an idol in Japan."

The next thing that Alaude projected to the screen was a photo of Tsuna at the closer angle, allowing the occupants to have a better look of the brunette's appearance.

"Talk about extreme doppelgänger. He looks EXTREMELY like you, Giotto", Knuckle commented, surprised at the striking resemblance between his Boss and the young idol.

"He's like a teenage version of Giotto, except for the brown hair and brown eyes... Hm…and the eye shape. He looks rather…feminine", Lampo spoke up for the first time since he entered the room.

"Nufufufu, upon closer look, there are definitely some differences between two of them, but if we just look from afar, it will be very hard to distinguish them from each other. So, care to enlighten me how Giotto's doppelgänger could be a major threat to Vongola?"

Instead of explaining to Daemon, Alaude opted to direct his stern gaze to Giotto, making the blond tense at the sudden attention.

"Tell me, Giotto, does this boy remind you of anyone?"

The blond was a bit hesitant to reply. He was planning to say no, but his gut feeling was telling him that he would be lying if he said so. In fact, there was something about this Shirosaki boy that tugged the back of his memory, something familiar, perhaps once dear to him, something that made him feel...warm.

However, no matter how much he racked his brain for any recollection of when he might have met the teen, Giotto still couldn't have a clue to answer Alaude's question.

"I'm sorry, but I can't think anyone right now. Can you give me some hints?"
Alaude's expression didn't change, as if he had been expecting this answer from his
leader.

"Very well. Listen carefully, Giotto. This boy here has everything to do with you. Because he is…". Alaude hardened his look, which spiked up Giotto's curiosity and nervousness. "This boy, Tsunayoshi Shirosaki, is... He is your son."

After the appointment with the orphanage Director, Tsuna immediately headed straight back to his apartment. True to Hamada's words, the flat that he chose for the brunette was to his taste, not too flashy but not too simple. Painted in lavish orange, his favorite color, the place consisted of a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms-one for him and one for the guests and a bathroom. There was minimal furniture but the up-to-date interior design was done nicely and cleverly, enhancing relaxation after a day of hard work. In sum, it was a beautiful apartment.

Yet, the whole place seemed too big for him. A deafening silence accompanied the glamorous beauty.

And the familiar feeling of loneliness crept up and devoured Tsuna's heart once more.

After taking a shower, the young star decided to skip dinner and headed to his bedroom. Flopping down onto his queen-size bed, Tsuna took out his phone and dialed a number he had learnt by heart. After a couple of ringing, the receiver finally picked up.

"Hello, Tsuna-kun! What a pleasure to hear from you again!", a male voice spoke up from the other line.

"Hello, Kurokawa-san! How is the investigation going that I asked you a month ago?"

"Everything couldn't go more smoothly at this side. I have gathered enough evidences, both in videos and photos, about Mori's corruption and misuse of the donation fund, along with proof of the staves' mistreatment of the children there. I was about to call you to ask if you'd like me to send it to the press next week. What do you think, Tsuna-kun?"

"Continue observing them in one more week. I have just donated a large sum of money to the orphanage and I'd like know what that man was gonna use it for. After that, let me see a full report before you send it to the press."

"Understood. Do you need anything else from me?"

"No. Good bye , Kurokawa-san and thank you for your hard work."

With that, Tsuna disconnected the call and put the phone away. Soon, that despicable Director and all the caretakers would receive the rightful punishment that they deserved for looking down on him years ago.

Recounting what happened back at the appointment, Tsuna couldn't resist smirking at the thought of seeing that fat man groveling, begging for help from the brunette. What a shameless pig! He knelt on the ground, fat fake tears rolling down his cheeks as put on an act of a miserable man and a compassionate Director that was worried about the orphanage's fate and the children's well-being. The act dragged on and on with baldie telling how the children didn't have enough to eat, how the staves set out their meager salary to cover the expenses and how much he, the so called generous Director had sacrificed for the sake of the place; Tsuna felt like spitting into his face considering how cheap and phony the act was.

In the end, after the curtain came down on the "tragic" play, Tsuna tried his best- keyword "try"- to look as sad and sympathetic as possible and helped the older man stand up, telling him that he understood the situation. Tsuna promised to donate 10000 yen to the fund and, of course, pretended to not know the glint of greediness flashing in the man's eyes.

"Oh, I can't wait to know what that pig is gonna do with the money you gave him. His greediness shall be his own downfall!"

For now, Tsuna was satisfied with the current course of event. Very soon, that orphanage would have a taste of the pain and suffering he felt in his childhood.

At the corner of the room, the orange lilies bloomed as brightly as ever.

Then, Tsuna's eyes fell on the box he received from the Director. He almost forgot that. The memento that his mother had left for him before leaving this life. After 16 years, Tsuna finally knew the story behind his mother's death.

From what he heard from Mori, his mother had a weak constitution since young and when she was pregnant with Tsuna, her health took a turn for the worse. However, she decided against the idea of abortion, and instead, kept Tsuna with hope that she might live to raise him. She did survive after the delivery. However, fate wouldn't have it easy for his mother and him. When his mother was brimming with hope of a happy future with her son, a traffic accident had stolen her everything. On her death bed, she had entrusted the box engraved with Tsuna's name to Mori telling the man to hand it to Tsuna once he was old and mature enough to know the truth about his parents. And she passed away.

Truth be told, for the past 16 years, Tsuna had lived with firm belief that he was an unneeded child for nobody would want such an incompetent existence for their son. There were times that he had doubt over his mother's death, thinking that it was just a cover for the fact that he was abandoned by his parents, for fear of hurting his feeling. From time to time, Tsuna had cursed his mother for bringing him to this wretched world and then abandoning him without a single care.

But now, once he knew about the true story about his mother, Tsuna felt so ashamed of himself for having such a shameful thought. Despite all the hardship and the fact she could choose her over him, his mother, in the end, still chose to bear the suffering and give birth to him, ready to shower him with unconditional love.

With slightly trembling fingers, the brunette opened the box and held his breath, anxious to know what his mother had left for him. What came to his eyes first was an old orange notebook with faded wrinkly cover titled "My diary". Setting it aside, Tsuna also found a seashell, a pendant somewhat shaped like flame and a photo album.

Curiosity overtook the teen when he picked up and inspected the diary. What had his mother written in the diary? Would he know more about himself when he finished reading it? Would he know about…the identity of his father?

"What are you waiting for, Tsuna? You won't have your questions answered unless you read it?"

Casting his thoughts aside, Tsuna flicked the diary open and began reading.

"XX-May-19XX

Today marked the fourth month since I had you, my dear baby! I can't wait to see you and hold you in arms, to sing you sweet lullaby and show you how much I love you. However, I'm afraid that my wish wouldn't come true. The doctor had told me about my deteriorating health and even advised me to have an abortion in case I might die after giving birth to you. He may know the possible consequences of me carrying you, but what he didn't know was how much you meant to me, Tsunayoshi. You are my world, my sky of hope, and also the fruit of love I share with your father. If it means to have you born to this world, then all these pain means nothing to me. Oh, Tsunayoshi, how I want 9 months to pass quickly so that I can finally see you!"

"Mom…", Tsuna's voice slid to that of shaken, quivering ever so slightly, jawline tightened and the air inhaled in a quick surge. The guilt came back like a tsunami, and Tsuna had never felt this ashamed of himself as this moment.

"So she did love you, Tsuna!"

Holding the tears that threatened to spill out, Tsuna took another breath and continued reading.

"Remember my dear, when the time has come for me to pass, always remember that I will always love you, my little angel. Don't forget that your mother's name is Nana Shirosaki and your father's name is Giotto."

Tsuna's eyes widened and then narrowed. "Giotto…my father is… Giotto… what about his surname…Why was I named after Mom's but not his?"

As if answering to Tsuna's current distress, a photo fell out of the diary and garnered the brunette's attention. In the photo, there was a young woman with long brown hair and big round eyes that Tsuna quickly identified as his mother- the resemblance between him and Nana was easily recognizable- standing next to another man, but the photo part of his head was missing.

Tsuna furrowed his eyebrows in concentration as he inspected the picture more closely. The body was undoubtedly that of a male- he was taller than mother and in good shape with defined muscles easily seen through the black suit with white pinstripe and white undershirt, but the part of the man's head was cut off, apparently by a razor, leaving Tsuna question the reason behind such action.

"That part looks like it were cut very carefully, not randomly. It's like Mom didn't want me to see his face". Tsuna pondered aloud and traced the edge of the cut part. And then realization dawned on him.

"Don't tell me… this man is… my father?"

At the Director Office in Gesso Agency

In a dimly-lit room, the TV screen was showing the final scene of "Prince of Lucifer", where the Prince waited in vain for the response from his dead brother of whether he had been forgiven for his sins. When the movie had blacked out, indicating the finale, the shadow sitting on the couch gave a round of applause.

"Bravo! A good show you had put, Tsunayoshi-kun! Bravo!"

No sooner had the shadow pressed the rewind button to playback the movie than another man emerged quietly from the dark. He gave a polite bow to the shadow and started his report.

"Good evening, Byakura-sama! As you expected, spies from various Famiglia have been seen targeting Tsunayoshi-sama and planning to abduct him. We have carried out your order and eliminated them secretly while sparing the Vongola spies. However, it seemed that the Vongola spies have increased in number lately. Do you want me to eliminate them, too?"

"Ah, Kikyo! Good to see you. Do you want some marshmallow?"

"No thanks, Byakura-sama."

"Oh, don't be so uptight!", Byakuran twirled the confectionary around his fingers before popping it into his mouth. "Just ignore the Vongola spies, let them do whatever they want. I'm sure they won't ever harm Tsunayoshi-kun. But about all those filthy spies from other Famiglia, get rid of them!"

"Understood, Byakuran-sama". And Kikyo retreated into the darkness once more.

With a haughty expression on his face, Byakuran turned his eyes back to the TV to enjoy the introduction to the movie. To the albino, "Prince of Lucifer" was the most epic movie he had ever seen in his life; he considered it as a prized beacon in Tsuna's acting carrer and a sensational source of inspiration that unfailingly sent waves of both fright and admiration down his spine.

Nevertheless, a new "movie" was about to unfold, and there was no doubt it would be as interesting and entertaining as the previous movie.

"Entertain me, Tsunayoshi-kun. Surprise me like you always do!"

"MY EYES! IT BURNS!", G screamed.

"ALAUDE! WHAT IS THE SHIT YOU'RE TRYING TO PULL HERE?", Daemon shouted while covering his face.

"Maa maa, calm down guys, it's good to watch Shotacon once in a while… what did I just say?", Asari commented off-handedly.

Giotto, being such a dignified boss, remained emotionless, like a Boss. So admirable, so manly, so…

"ARGHHHHHH! MY VIRGINITY!"

And Giotto ran out.

"I NEED BRAIN BLEACH AND EYE BLEACH…FAST!"

Special thanks to guest and dhyetaX1999 for pointing my mistake of Tsuna's name in previous chapter.

As for the romance, I'm still considering it. I really want to make it G27 story but then it will freak everybody if I do so. A forbidden love story between father and son- Giotto and Tsuna- hm, sound nice but then it will probably scare all of you XD, so the story will restricted to only father-son fluff :)
