I Would Willingly Do Anything For Her

I awoke to the smell of woodsmoke and trees just after the rainstorm, the taste of them as they went down my throat. I looked up to see Somi who's eyes were red, when she saw me her tears splashed down at me. "Hello sleeping beauty." She said and stroked my hair.
"Somi?" My voice sounded as if it hadn't been used in a while, then I remembered how one time I had over exhausted myself and slept for a month. I saw a baby bottle in Somi's hand filled with blood.
"Shush everything is alright now, I was so worried Alex. You've been asleep for two weeks."
"Two weeks?" I asked in alarm.
"Yes, because you had to be the idiotic quarter vampire and teleport yourself over to me. Leah has been worried sick." Sammy said and I stared at her.
"Leah is here?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Yes, she is." Sammy replied. "And the counsil as well."
"Who called the counsil? Why are they here?" I was confused.
"They are here because, well Alex you've accidentally created a new species."
"What?" I demanded shocked and she nodded.
"Well actually we both did. You bit me and well I bit the others, the werewolves want to destroy the race that they are now calling the Alisomi."
"The Alisomi?" I asked.
"My lot." She replied.
"Really?" I asked her, wow an hole other race. "So tell me about this new race of yours."
"Well there aren't very many as of yet, just five so far, Anastasia, Harold, Emile and Alise. As soon as I realized that we were different from our parents I stopped biting people."
"You can do that? Control it that easily?" I asked.
"The odd thing about blood is that it makes us stronger, but we don't really have the same compulsion that vampires do. However we do have the binding."
"The binding?" I asked.
"Well when I bite someone, I can talk to them through their mind, even see what they are seeing." I explained. "That's why the council is here to determine if we're a danger to the other species and what we can do. They are currently asking my pack to bite each other and see if the link can be established between them."
"Wait, what?" I said and she smiled at me.
"They want to see if the bond is just mine or if its the packs as well. They also want us to bite a human, a shapeshifter and a vampire at first. All three have volunteered and are willing to die because we aren't completely sure what the outcome would be. They want to see if only shapeshifters can become Alisomi or not."
"Wait they want to see if these people die or not?" I asked. "That's cruel."
"No it isn't, all of them have lost their other half. The human's story is much like Bella's apart from the fact that her love died." I said sadly. "I don't want to go into the other two stories, just lets say that the races have agreed to put them out of their misery in return for the favor that they are bestowing upon them."
"Oh those poor people, how would we be able to help them?" I asked and she shrugged.
"I don't know." She replied sighing. "However the trial will happen tomorrow, I'm nervous." She admitted.
"Why are you nervous?" I asked her.
"Well because they are forcing me to bite people, as I am the first woman of this species. The shapeshifter will most probably turn but I'm not sure about the others and I don't know if we age normally or not. I'm not sure if we can even have children."
"Vampires continue on by biting others, however I don't see a reason why your new species would be unable to well um, make children." I blushed and Sammy laughed delightedly, her laugh was worth my embarrassment.
"I never thought to see you so uncomfortable Alexi." She teased lightly. "Its natural, at least it is for humans and half vampires. The jury is still out on female shapeshifters. Although I don't think that Leah has had any previous opportunity and I don't want an opportunity as of yet as I find myself confused about my relationships." I felt my cheeks color again, that was my fault but I couldn't help getting close to Sammy.
"Do they need to test it out on a quarter vampire? I started this so I should finish it as well."
"No its too dangerous." Sammy protested.
"I bit you Sammy, its my way of making up for the fact, if this could protect you it would be worth it. It's my fault that the Alisomi were created and it was time that I atoned for my actions."
"It's not." Sammy protested and I sighed.
"You know that it is, you spoke of Leah earlier how is she?"
"After she heard about you she ran nonstop from the rainforest. She arrived last night and is currently asleep on the pull out couch. Seth is delighted to have her back." Sammy smiled and I couldn't help but smile myself.
"I should get up and see her, I haven't been stealing your bed have I?" I asked.
"No, after the sixth day we moved you." She replied and I couldn't help but stare at her.
"I can't believe that I was actually out for two weeks." I said and took the bottle from Sammy. "Might as well not waste this." I downed the bottle in a few swallows. "I could really use some lion about now." I said as my stomach growled and Sammy laughed.
"Food first and more blood." Sammy replied. "I think your too weak to hunt at the moment. I've been giving you my blood for the last seven days and that of animals that I managed to get although that was a bit harder. I also asked Collin and he agreed to give some blood as well."
"I'm surprised that he did, he hates me." I said and Sammy shrugged.
"He doesn't hate you, he just feels that you have no right to be my boyfriend." She told him that?
"You actually told him that we were long distance dating, wow Sammy I never thought you would be that uncaring."
"I'm not he deserves to know, anyway he was treating me as a child and you never did that." I smiled at her, somehow I could never stay mad at Sammy. Slowly I sat up trying not to groan as the room spun around me.
"No stay here, I'll get you some food." Sammy said and I smiled at her.
"Sammy I'll be fine." I said and she nodded. "Let me just rest a moment, sit with me?" Again she nodded and I smiled as she sat down in the bed and I put an arm around her. "Everything will be alright Sammy, we'll get through this together." I told her and she nodded before bursting into tears. "Oh Somi." I said softly as she buried her head into my chest. I gently stroked her curly ringlets sighing sadly.
"No matter what race or species people come from they are still people." She nodded but her sobbing didn't obate until it changed into the pattern of soft breathing. I smiled and continued to stroke her hair as she started to softly snore.
"I love you Somi, but you already know that." I said so softly to her that I could barely hear myself before kissing her lightly on the head and putting my wrist into her mouth. As I knew she would, she instinctively bit down, and I sighed as a pleasant coolness came over my body, rather then make me feel weak it made me feel stronger then I had ever felt before as she drank my blood. She must have exhausted herself for despite the blood she didn't move at all from my chest, not even her breathing changed as she sucked upon my blood and eventually I pulled away my wrist, feeling the coldness growing within me. I gently closed the bite with my saliva and moved Somi so she was lying upon the bed, covering her with the blanket that I pulled out for her surprised by the ease of it. I watched her as her chest slowly rose and fell, feeling my heart warm at the sight of her sleeping so peacefully.
I smiled before stepping outside of the room and down the corridor and the warmth hit me suddenly taking me by surprise. I gasped at it, I had never felt such heat before, but it faded and the coolness overtook it again. I sat down against the wall my head was spinning for some reason, I didn't know why it was behaving so but it was.
I leaned my head back against the wall glad that I was able to help Somi. Then someone came from the other room and stared at me in surprise. "What?" I looked up and saw the figure shift from one man to three and back again to one.
"Somi." I said not sure of why. My body felt as though it was twisting around trying to do something that it was incapable of doing but it was worth it for Sammy. For the chance of sharing every moment with her. I sighed and relaxed against the gripping feeling that was overtaking me. Then I felt nothing and saw my own body leaning against the wall, my eyes were open and staring at nothing as I tried to get back into my skin. I stared as my body slowly stopped breathing and my head lulled to the side.
