Hello everybody!
I am super-duper sorry for the long wait, but I swear on the River Styx I have been sooooo busy!
Percy's POV
By the time they'd given me my next 'meal', I'd already carved the spoon to a point sharp enough to pierce the skin.
I snickered. Luke had no clue what he was dealing with. I'd escaped from jail more times than I can count.
All I had to do was sharpen the spoon till I could use it as a weapon next time they bought food, then it was as simple as killing any soldiers in my path, then sneaking through the city via some secret passages (thanks Leo). By the time Luke noticed I was gone I'd be racing towards the Princess Andromeda, ready to gather my crew to rescue Annabeth.
And I would rescue Annabeth.
Running my plan over in my head, I grinded the edge of the spoon against the metal bed frame. It was a wonder the stupid guards hadn't noticed the small pile of silver powder on the floor.
I poked the tip of my finger with the point of my newly crafted weapon, drawing a small amount of blood.
It was definitely sharp enough now.
I stood on the bed to peek outside the small, barred window.
The sun was starting to go down, which meant the guard would be bringing my dinner soon. The perfect time to put my escape plan to action.
I'd been here long enough to recognise their rotations, meal times, as well as who was laziest on the job.
If my timing was right, the laziest guard in the entire should be on duty about now.
Perfect, I thought. Bring it on Luke.
Leo's POV
After the leaders discussed whether or not we could trust di Angelo (it was decided we could, though we must've share any damaging information with him), the rest of us pirates gathered on the beach of Ogygia with Calypso.
Ever since meeting her, I couldn't get over how beautiful she was. I thought many girls were beautiful, but Calypso was stunning.
We crowded the glowing bronze disc, which had become our way of checking in on Percy and Annabeth thanks to Calypso's magic.
On the bronze screen, a large room filled the picture.
In the room, Annabeth paced fretfully, tugging her curly hair and biting at her nails. She was alone, but still with no means on escape.
The scene changed to show a small cell, a stark contrast to Annabeth's luxury lockup. Percy was sitting on the bed, examining the point of what must've been a knife, though how he got it, I had no idea.
"Is that a spoon?" Piper raised an eyebrow.
Nico shrugged. "He always was very resourceful."
"So, he already has an escape plan." Reyna pointed out.
Nico seemed to go a bit red. "Yes, but…."
The scene changed to show Luke. He was standing on the dock, soldiers perched along the coastline, blocking Percy's way of escape.
"He's been watching Percy as well." I said, shocked.
We turned to Thalia, the only one who was acquainted with Luke.
She looked as hopeless as the rest of us.
Things started clicking in my head, the others clearly working out the same thing. "But if he knows what Percy's doing-"
Reyna nodded. "Then he probably knows what we're doing to. He's seen you talk with Annabeth and discuss a plan."
"We have to warn Percy and Annabeth somehow." Thalia said.
Jason's eyebrows scrunched together. I recognised his 'awesome plan' face. "Annabeth yes, but maybe we can use Percy's failed break-out to finally finish this. Here's what we need to do…"
Annabeth's POV
Pacing the room, I was starting understand was real stress felt like.
Yeah, I'd been nervous, so nervous that I'd fainted before a speech I had to make, but this was something else.
The one I loved was going to die unless Nico's idea worked. And after he locked me in a kitchen I doubted his resolve.
I was snapped back from my thoughts when the door opened and Luke stepped in from the hallway.
He was dressed for battle, a sword hanging from his belt and a breastplate adorned with his family emblem protecting his chest.
I turned to face him, letting my hands fall to my sides as my eyes narrowed into a glare.
"Luke," I growled.
He gave me a cocky smile. "Hello Miss Chase."
He closed the door quietly behind him and took a step closer to me. "How do you like the place? This room would've been yours."
"I've been here before Luke. This is nothing new to me."
"And yet you choose piracy over luxury," He took another step forward and I had to mentally slap myself to stop from stepping away. "You really are quite strange, Miss Chase."
"Says the man who pushed his bride off a balcony."
Luke sighed. "Percy told you? Neither of us shared the cause of our hatred, do you know why?"
I swallowed and shook my head. Percy never mentioned to me why he'd never told a soul, I'd simply assumed it was too painful for him to talk about.
"Before he 'died', he said to me 'No one will know of this Castellan, so then when I kill you, only you will see it coming'," another step. "He's not a good person, Annabeth. He wanted me to cower in fear as he plotted to kill me."
My hands curled into fists. No, he's lying. "Percy's twice the man you'll ever be."
He laughed. "Percy is a pirate Annabeth. He's notorious for his tricks. Legends of his freaking ghost spread fear among the people. Do you really think a man who will paint messages to his enemies with blood is better than I?"
"You killed his family and the woman he loved. You deserve everything he's done to you, and everything that will come to you."
He stepped forward again and now we were inches apart.
"When he dies, I will make sure you are there to see as he takes his last breath. You will see what will come of the path you have chosen, and you will see how easil-"
His snarling words were cut off as I finally lost all self-control and my hand smacked him hard across the face, my jagged nails cutting his cheeks.
"You bitch," He growled. I started walking away from him as he came forward, my hands spread out behind me until they hit the wall.
Luke pushed against me, placing his hands on the wall besides my head as he leaned down to whisper in my ear.
"There are fates worse than death. Be grateful that I'm letting your dear Percy Jackson off so easily. And as for you… you will come to love me eventually, Annabeth."
Argh! GO DIE IN A FREAKIN' HOLE LUKE!
*let's out breath* I'm ok
Please R&R, sorry there wasn't much action, but there is some more fights to come I promised.
