Okay here's the first chapter of Memories Lies- Rewritten version.
The girls were 11 when the girls got their powers, around 12 when they defeated HIM and are currently/ around the age of 13 years old. The boys are the same age as the girls when they were 'born'. When they first encountered each other they were all around 11-12. (boys can be short and still the same age, hey they haven't a growth spurt yet)
You remeber Sakurako, right? Human form of Sedusa, turns into her when she puts on make up. You remember her? Good, just making sure. Souchirou's the brunette guy she's in love with, again just making sure.
I also don't like making alot of OC's because it'd be hazardous to give them all personalities. So I'm probably going to use some characters from other shows, animes, cartoons, or Vocaloids for fillers.
I hope, pray, worry that you'll like it. If you don't like it, then I'm sorry but it's your loss and you could leave. But I suggest you stay tuned and read the next chapter.
Also if it's bad, I'm just getting (well at least trying) my mojo back.
If you want you could review (yes I accept anonymous ones too) here or on my Deviantart account (the link is on my Fanfic Profile page) it'll give me a confidence BOOST! (-_-|i) Yes. I'm that pathetic. Now let's go ahead and START DIS SHIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-beep beep beep.
P.S If You wanna know what the two filler characters ,in this chapter look like, the Google: Meiko And Kaito Vocaloid
Chapter 1
The beginning.
Even though none of us knew it, we were about to embark into a new chapter.
"What will it be-?"
One that stops the lies?
"A Happily Ever After?"
One that ends our lives?
"Or A Tragic Disaster?"
We'll wait and see.
But it would be the best chapter, one that none of us will ever trade nor give up, anyway
and it all started on that summer's day...
High in the surrounding mountains of New Tokyo
Summer thrived in the mountainous forest of New Tokyo City. Cicadas rose from the ground, ending their life under ground for a short one on the surface, before flocking into the trees, hidden from sight. In a narrow stream, fish swam idly against the calm current, their scales glistening underneath the shimmering, clear blue water. Near the stream a small clearing in the forest, a couple of dark brown, wild rabbits nibbled on the lush summer grass, getting their daily lunch.
Then, quite suddenly, the rabbits stopped, their ears twitching turning to the same direction a couple of seconds before their heads followed.
Birds and cicadas stopped singing.
The placid atmosphere was quickly replaced by a stiff, tense one.
As if sensing the change, one of the rabbits stood on it's hind legs it's ears turning in different direction, listening intently for danger.
Ba-Da-lump,
Ba-Da-lump,
Ba-Da-lump
There it was, the sound of trouble, and it grew closer and closer by the second.
A raven cawed; it's voice echoing through out the woods, as if signaling danger.
Acting quickly to the call, the rabbits dashed into the underbrush. Birds took flight, teeming the skies just as a huge blur jumped out of a nearby bush and landed with a splash in the stream, scattering the fish, before taking off in a run.
Ba-Da-lump,
Ba-Da-lump,
Ba-Da-lump.
It's heavy, hooves galloped against the dry earth kicking clumps dirt, sand, and grass into the air. Running, fleeing through the underbrush right through thorny shrubs, trampling small saplings, and flattening flower beds; leaving chaos in it's wake. Panted breathing fell into rhythm with the thumping of hooves.
It's eyes widened in pure fear.
The same fear you'd see in a prey's eyes.
The fear of knowing that you're about to die.
Ba-Da-lump,
Ba-Da-lump,
Ba-Da-lump.
Fog started to loom over the ground of the forest, spreading at an abnormally quick yet ominous pace. It was a deep gray fog, one that you could cut, and it wispped around the ground before inhaling, shrouding everything in it's gray. From the speed chased the fleeing blur showed that it was no normal fog.
The running turned into a slow trot, before finally it came to a sudden halt.
Out of breath, the creature stood completely still, saving the fact of it's heaving chest, letting the thick fog envelope it. There was no use running from the fog. It would've caught up to it sooner or later. Then the creature closed it's eye's...and listened. It's ears twitching in a certain direction every once in a while.
Then it turned everything went into slow motion, the creature snapped it's eyes, wide in fear, at the sound of sliced wind. A pwing was heard and the creature instinctively turned it's head to the left just as three two-feet-long spears pierced through the fog, splitting a few neck hairs before lodging themselves into a nearby tree. The spears had pierced completely through the tree.
It's fear renewed, the creature ran with new found energy, tumbling through the trees, unknowingly heading towards civilization. It's galloping echoing in the distance.
Back at the speared tree, a hooded-figure stood glancing at the direction of the foot prints before looking up past the trees, the silhouette of a city that shimmered down in the distance. The figure's eyes danced in amusement under his over sized hood as he let a small smirk, realizing how his tedious job had gotten so much more entertaining.
Oh what joy he would have causing havoc on a city...or at lest watch havoc, momentarily reminiscing the lose creatures. He paused to gaze at the city, searching for a name. At the recollection of it's name, the figure whispered in a husky, amused voice.
"New Tokyo City."
_ლ_ლMomoko's POVლ_ლ
Absentmindedly, I stared out the window of the small restaurant.
Leaves swayed in the humid breeze, the sun's burning rays beat down on the already sizzling sidewalk, and the cicadas buzzed to their never ending song; the children ran around the park with glee in an attempt to find the annoying buzzing creatures. The clanking noise of ice hitting the bottom of my ,now empty, soda glass was heard just as Sakurako brought me my other order. Even though I was still looking outside, I could see her reflection in the window.
My eyes looked at her in the reflection and, without turning in her direction, thanked her with a smile. Returning the smile, she gave a polite reply before her petite foot steps faded with the growing distance. The blond had continued whatever activity she was previously doing in the corner with her boyfriend and guests.
Turning my eyes to the outside world, I too continued my task.
With my eyes, I critically scanned analyzed the park outside, every detail, every move, and everyone in it did not escape my gaze. I just stared, my eyes darting at every, other moment just watching, waiting for any sign of hidden, impending danger. A little girl had fallen while she looked for a cicada and ended up scrapping her knee. In shock, the little girl teared and cried gaining the attention of a little boy. The girl's playmate panicked at the girl's crying figure before he too started to cry when he had caught sight of blood running from scrape on the girl's knee. I was about to go and help them but was beaten by the boy's mother who had arrived to soothe the two weeping children. I sighed, other than the two children crying outside, at the moment, the city appeared to be calm.
It was peaceful.
That one sentence is the cause of my paranoid behavior.
Why you ask-?
Because that sentence- no that word- has hardly ever been used in the last two years.
In the sixth grade, three girls were each hit by a beam of white light. Ever since that day, those same three girls had been friends and had been the city's super heroines who were always saving the day. Always stopping bad guys. And always earning that leading spot in the parade. The parades -after staring in at least a hundred parades- had eventually had grown from being a time joyous occasion to just another tedious task.
Even though that day we earned amazing powers and equally amazing friends, my friends and I learned that it was also the day that the word 'peaceful' was stolen from us. Ironic on how we would do the peace making yet get no time to experience the leisure of the safe haven we had created.
Not only that but we go through chaos to get that peace, so we also learned that our vocabulary has been changed over the years of being a heroine. In lesson one, the word 'normal' becomes: chaotic, crazy, bazaar, stressful and ect. Lesson two, the word 'abnormal' become the opposite words of our version of 'normal' such as: peaceful, calm and even -dare I say it- boring.
Why would normal, abnormal to us?
Well what if, theoretically speaking, you were a superhero who battles monsters during the most outrageous hours, which leads to tiring nights, to oversleeping, to tardy slips and to unprepared pop quizzes that of which ,unsurprisingly, only leads to another monster attack and not to mention that this happened daily for two years. Then what if miraculously, there where no monster attacks, no pop quizzes, and no crazy experiment testing -courtesy of the professor- what would you do? There you are, with that annoying out-of-reach-itch-on-your-back agony, to called it something that was more fitting to word to capture it's surrealism than just that plain old boring word: abnormal.
Yea, I thought so.
...
Well, instead of abnormal I could just say it has been bazaar but~ it doesn't feel bazaar. Should I call it bazaar? No, bazaar feels like it would be under normal not abnormal. Unless this counts for being normal because I'm not a hero right now. Wait so that means my vocabulary changes between transformations or dose it not? So then has this week been normal or abnormal? So this means that I, wait- what?
I furiously shook my head from side to side, in hopes of removing the idiocy that had invaded my brain. Bad idea. All it left me with was the force of my shaking, making my vision blur...
When I gradually gained my sight back but I had also gradually gained back my fluttering of butterflies unsettled my insides and my mind raced. I instinctively and quickly scanned the area for danger.
That was, before I realized what I was doing and forced myself to relax. I placed a great amount of effort into trying to subdue my worries but once I think they're gone they seep their annoying existence back into my head.
What have I been worried about? As I mentioned before-
-Recently (I noticed) the city hasn't had any attacks from any of the monsters for at least a week. Most likely the-no-monster-attacks thing had probably been going on even longer than before that.
Before, I would be psyched to even have a mere day off just to do all the things I wished to do when/if I had spare time. Now here I am with more time ,than I could ever comprehend, sitting in the palm of my hands and what do I do with it? Well, turns out, that instead of enjoying it I worry my head off for the next attack and when it would happen. Don't get me wrong, I am psyched about having extra time and yes I am still worried but it's not like I'm gonna worry my time to waste while locked away alone in a my room.
Of course not, in fact, I am currently at Sakurako-san sweet shop with my worries while eating up the a super sized version of her new dessert, a sakura ice cream, fruit parfait. I picked up the long parfait spoon only to set it back down. My thoughts overcoming my hunger.
'But it's just that-
A bang erupted from behind me and a lady's scream soon followed.
-I wish they told us we would, beforehand.'
My eyes snapped open, eyes shimmering with anticipation. Instinctively jumping up from my spot caused my wooden seat to screech, due to the sudden speed, before it fell to the lighter colored, wooden floor with a loud thunk. My hand reached for the pink compact sitting on my waist as I turned to face the scene screaming-
"What's the problem!?"
A.N ( Just in case your like me and skipped the authors note above I will say this once again)
If You wanna know what the two filler characters look like- the ones about to be mentioned, the Google: Meiko And Kaito Vocaloid
Only to see, a middle aged, dark blue-haired man on one knee holding something up to his almond-haired girlfriend. Off to the side, Sakurako-san and Souchirou-san were currently holding party poppers, empty party poppers. No robbery, or monster attack here ,he-he, it's only just a harmlessly, incredibly sweet proposal- that I had just ruined.
Way to got genius.
Oh, I can see it now-They announce my name as I made my entrance on the brightly lighten stage, facing the crowd who'd doubled over in laughter, rainbow confetti showering from the sky landing everywhere, my eyes running from embarrassment at the amount of pictures taken, and the mayor handing me a golden trophy for winning the title of 'Biggest Idiot of the Year'.
My muscles relaxed at the knowledge of there being no danger, but I could feel my face warm with embarrassment at their stares. A goofy grin crept on my face and I laughed nervously ,trying to play it off as a joke. But much to my dismay, I only got puzzled looks in return.
'Great, now their looking at me like I'm crazy.' Sweat dropping at the thought, I leaned slightly forward and stiffly clapped my hands together saying.
"I mean- Congratulations!" I closed my eyes not wanting to see their reactions and silently prayed for it to work.
Oh please let it work-
Please tell me it worked-
At the sound of laughter, my eyes shout open in surprise. I had expected a murderous glare but instead I got a mirthful smile and eyes running with joy. Relief ran through my body and I slowly started to relax when I saw that the group turned their puzzled gazes to the lady.
'Phew~ thank god.' I found my self smiling just by watching her. I still couldn't believe that, despite of what just happened, she only laughed. Her her short almond hair was curled inward ,framing her face beautifully, and her light peach cheeks flushed pink from laughing. I can see one reason why that guy proposed to her, she was really pretty.
Well, I'm just happy she's not strangling me for ruining that precious memory that they would look back on fore- you know what- If someone I didn't even know doing that on during my proposal I would be so mad I'd-
From that point and onward I had to subdue the huge and quite sudden urge to strangle myself.
Currently being so caught up in my thoughts, I didn't realize that what was going on in the background. The lady had stood to compose herself, lifted one hand and wiped her tears. Then she smiled at my distracted figure ,ignoring the stares the others gave her, before walking up to a still-dazed-out-me.
Faintly aware of the weight of her hand on my shoulder, I snapped out of my thoughts and I looked up to the older woman. She gave a cheeky grin that showed a thin white line of the bottom her top pearly teeth ,reminding me of Kaoru's, and thanked me for the good laugh. That was, before she scrunched up her face, studying my features.
"Hey, aren't you that kid Sakurako always talks about?" She asked, her scrunched features shifted into one of confusion.
"Yes, that's her. She's Momoko-chan." Sakurako said, smiling as she walking up to us. At this revelation, the lady's her bright chocolate eyes lit up.
Wait, she talks about me? About what?
"Ooh, so she's the one who's always comes to your shop to purchase half of your sweets." The lady was beaming now.
I sweat dropped at her enthusiastic reaction. Well, that answered my question.
"Meiko-chan!" Sakurako-san shouted baffled at her friend's exaggeration.
"Huh?"
"Momoko-chan doesn't eat that much!"
"Really? Wait, hold on, let me think then. Hmmmn. If it wasn't half of the sweets, then-it was half of the store?" Stating the last part as if she was questioning herself more than her three-year-younger, blond braided friend.
"Meiko-chan!"
"Hmm, then what was it?" Meiko puzzled, tapping her chin.
When Meiko-san's hand left my shoulder, I turned and went back to my seat ,more importantly my dessert, leaving the two older women to their bickering. After picking up my chair, I sat down and resumed consuming the soft delicacy. If your wondering, why Miyako isn't exploding with idea's for the wedding or why Kaoru isn't asking the blue haired guy why he proposed here. I'll have you know that, they aren't here. You see they ,unlike me, they have plans. They saw and used the no-monster-attack as a vacation and we're enjoying their summer break by spending it with their families, hanging out with their friends, ...or doing their summer homework...
While I on the other hand was paranoid from start to- well now and currently I still am. That episode a couple of seconds ago was more than enough proof. It's not like I'm hoping or looking forward for bad things to happen! It's just- complicated, like somethings not right. That somethings gonna happen right around the corner and- I know, I know. I'm too jumpy, paranoid and blah; I'll admit it.
...
It could be that I just miss being a heroine-or maybe I'm just lonely? I puzzled over the thought for a moment, which regretfully, caused me to stop eating.
Family?
No. Dad's on a trip, Mom's preparing for that annual-nurse-doctor-test thing, and Kuriko's at a sleep over.
Animes?
Nope, caught up on all of them yesterday.
Clubs?
I don't think eating counts as a talent... let alone having a club for it.
Besides if it's talents then they're more suited in Miyako and Kaoru's department. I mentally sighed at the thoughts of my best friends. I mean the only people I consider true ,or just in general, friends are those two and the last time we hanged out was three days ago. At least, I think it was three. I wounder how they're doing. I think I really did let out a sigh this time.
Great, now I'm depressed.
Opening my eyes, I looked at the currently melting icecream in my parfait. Trying to cheer myself up, I gripped my spoon and scooped up a spoonful of the homemade treat- Well, I at lest had this yummy treat to keep me company- and with that thought plopped it in my mouth, grateful for the sweets' cold-surgery comfort.
Ah comfort food, you are the best sympathizer.
_ლ_ლEnd of Momoko's POVლ_ლ_
_(*≧ω≦)ノ_Third POV_ \(≧∀≦)_
The two middle aged men ,not knowing what exactly to do in their current situation, just watched both of their girlfriends bicker. Souchirou watched Sakurako try to explain to her friend that Momoko's questionable sweet addiction wasn't as bad or bazaar as she had claimed- even though what Meiko claimed was true. While the bluette man watched his girlfriend in silent shock that she had just went from being angry, to crying, to laughing, to bickering all under a minute. To top it all off, she still hasn't answered to his proposal yet and, other than himself, no one else in the room seemed to have notice that single critical thought. He slumped in the nearest chair and propped his chin on his hand while he fiddled with the wedding ring, rejection weighing heavily in his heart.
Meanwhile, Meiko trying to settle the misunderstanding between her and her friend, turned when she felt a depressed aura. She actually felt two, but the one that caught her attention ,one she could relate with, was coming from the strawberry blond teen. She took a mental note on how her eyes were glazed over and how heavy her sigh sounded... before the said girl started stuffing her face with passion.
Meiko gave a silent pitiful sigh as she gave the unaware girl ,who is currently suffering from a brain freeze, a look of sympathy. Meiko had a look like her's when she was in high school. She was a mere minor when she had started drowning her loneliness in alcohol. Meiko smiled painfully at the memory, but then her world was changed when she met a certain energetic, caring, loving, blue-haired idiot. Who had changed her life for the better, who had helped her make so many friends, who stayed by her side to help rid of her alcoholic problem, who (along the process) she had completely fallen in love with.
Meiko shook her head, this was no time for reminiscing the past. What she needed to do was figure out how to fix the mess she created. But how could she calm down Sakurako, save her boyfriend, and the strawberry haired teen from their depressi-
'Bingo.'
Her warm hazel eyes glimmered with brilliance when an idea -a brilliant one if she says so herself- that would settle all this bickering, hopefully get her more acquainted with the strawberry blonde, and make her answer to her boyfriend an unforgettable one.
Filled with cocky confidence, Meiko turn and strode her way towards the pink eyed girl, earning her a soft questionable glare from Sakurako, who in vain had spent the last couple of minuets trying to get back her friends attention.
When Meiko reached her destination, she turned and leaned on the edge of the table, knowing that she would earn a lecture from her boyfriend and braided haired friend if she sat on the table. Momoko stopped inhaling her dessert ,which for some reason hasn't gotten any smaller, due to the sudden extra weight of Meiko's hand on her shoulder. Momoko stared questionably at the older woman to explain her action.
After a minuet of silence, the two had not moved from their previous positions. During that whole minuet, the pink-eyed girl furiously fought off the rude assumption that the lady before her had a shoulder touching problem. When yet another silent minuet passed by, Momoko tried to stop thinking all together when her thoughts turned ridiculous. They tried to persuade the paranoid teen into thinking that Meiko was a monster trying to steal and eat her icecream.
'Not like that would happen...right?' Momoko thought to herself, just before Mieko's fingers dipped into her dessert plucked out an icecream coated strawberry. Momoko gave out a horrified shriek as the berry disappeared behind the older lady's ruby lips. Meiko gave her lips a lick of satisfaction before looking at Momoko with a playful-and-not-so-apoligetic-smile.
"Sorry kid, but it looked really good." Momoko only responded with sorrowful whine and a glance with her overly dramatic, teary eyes. Her sorrow for the loss of the said fruit made Momoko started to irrationally believe her paranoid thoughts. She HAD to be a monster! SHE TAKING HER ICECREAM WAS PROOF!
Momoko would've reached for her compact if it wasn't for the fact that there was a table in between her hand and her compact, and the other fact that she has witnesses present. Meiko thought nothing of her rude gesture and neither did her blue haired boyfriend. The other three were about to passionately state their opinions on the subject. Key words in that sentence- 'were' and 'about'. They would've too, if it wasn't for the proposal that came out of Meiko mouth, which had stunned everyone in the room into silence.
Meiko ,whom at the moment was feeling quite haughty by their reactions, found the need to repeat her proposal. She cleared her throat and before speaking it again in a louder volume, her pride seeping into her voice.
"Kid, I want you to be the flower girl at the wedding."
Once again she was met with the same result, baffled silence. It was until the sputtering of nonsense spewed from the confused teenage girl's mouth, thus ending the silence.
Under any other circumstances, Momoko would've have accepted eagerly. However, this wasn't one of those circumstances and it certainly wasn't the response Meiko had imagined for.
"Ha- Tah-p-nii- WHAT?! Are you CRAZY! No I didn't mean that. It's just- I just- you just- to you I-GAH-DAHhh- Wait-no uhhh- I'm honored but um-WHY ME! I mean, uh- why would you want me to be apart of the wedding? You don't- Not wanting to offend you but we only met! Don't you have some one else to do it?" Saying Momoko was shocked by the offering was a huge understatement. She has every right to be as well.
I mean, who in their right mind would ask a person ,of whom had practically ruined the proposal, to take part of their wedding.
"One no one else will fill the shoes, two you saved me from embarrassing myself on camera," Meiko momentarily paused to point to a currently filming Souchirou. "-and three is simply because I like you kid. Do need to say more?"
"But-" Momoko tried to reason out only to be stopped by a raised hand and threat from the stubborn older woman.
"Looks like I have to- and no but's besides you don't really have a choice. Everyone else I know are adults and I know everyone Kaito knows." Gesturing to her blue-haired-shell shocked- fiancee. " If we would have had a flower girl then it would've been someone we've never met. At least we've met you." Blossom opened her mouth to retaliate but mischievous glimmer sparkled in Meiko's eye. "Also, a side from my pride, you did ruin my proposal."
Ouch that hurt. Momoko thought taking the hard blow to her pride and the older woman wasn't even done yet.
"So either you'll say yes to be in my wedding or there won't-WAH!" Her fiancee, Kaito, had finally processed the fact that she had just agreed to the wedding and decided that now was the perfect time to spin her like crazy. Meiko, however, didn't find it so perfect and made it sure her opinion was put out and acknowledged crystal clear. How? Through the best way, the fun way, or-in better choice of words- violent way and she did just that. Slamming her fist onto the overly happy man's head was the only way for the poor woman to get him to stop, besides her lunch was at stake if she didn't.
With a loud thud Kaito fell to the ground, seemingly dead, only to spring right back up as if nothing happened.
"So you'll marry me, Meiko?" Kaito's asked, his face beaming.
"Of course-" Mieko said giving him a warm smile, a smile that Kaito returned...Well, until his fiancee continued her sentence.
"-as long as she's the flower girl."
The blue-haired man was now on his hands and knees begging the said girl to be a part of the wedding, knowing that his-almost-fiancee would hold-off the wedding until this girl agreed. Momoko now had her hands tied. If she said no then the two wouldn't get married. If she said yes, how would she explain that to her friends and family?
Hey guys I'm going to be the flower girl of a wedding held by some people I just met. Why? I was blackmailed, so if I don't go I destroyed a marriage. Also, I owe them because I ruined their proposal. How? Well I'm a super hero and I thought that they were monsters robbing a sweet store, so I yelled at them when the guy proposed. Oh and I also don't know when it will be, where it will be, how many people will be attending, or how long I will be gone...So, I can go right?
Yep if they heard that they will totally let her go... right after she checked out of the mental hospital.
There was another issue with her job. What if a monster attacks right in the middle of the wedding? And her school!... Oh my gosh, her school was going to start in about a week! She still hasn't finished her summer homework!
What am I going to do? Momoko panicked, sweat starting to form. Every one was waiting for her to answer.
Before the teen could answer, the sense of nostalgia washed over the pink eyed girl when she heard an ever familiar blooping. Looking down, Momoko stared in disbelief, blinked twice before widening her eyes in shock. Where her ears deceiving her? Was she seeing things again? No, her compact was indeed flashing and apparently she was the only one who noticed.
She rushed for the door to answer the call but the blue haired man caught her arm, looking desperate. Momoko silently cursed herself, it looked like she was rejecting their offer and was making a break for it. Knowing she'll have to face the consequences later, she gave them a quick yes before bolting out the door and into the park. Faintly hearing the engaged woman shouting that she'll call her when they're done with the plans.
Call her? How? She never gave them her number! Momoko just prayed that the strange couple would forget all about her.
5 minuets of running later
_(*≧ω≦)ノ_ Still in Third POV_ \(≧∀≦)_
After running into a concealed place in the park's forest, Momoko pulled out her compact to see a very annoyed professor.
"MOMOKO! FINALLY! I've been waiting for five whole minuets! Kaoru and Miyako wouldn't answer and as we speak there's a monster attack in the central! The police tried to contain it but it's gotten out of hand! Let me talk to the others!" The professor blurted his face lace with urgancy and eyebrows furrowed. Despite that worry, she couldn't help but sweatdrop at his reaction.
What, no hello?
"I'm sorry professor, but I was kinda... busy... when you called also I don't know where they are."
This got the professor's attention. His eye brows rose in confusion.
"You don't? Aren't they with you?" The heronie just shook my head and the professor gave out a frustrated sigh.
"I was hoping they were."
"Why professor? What's wrong?"
"After calling twice, I tried to pick up their signals eminatting from their belts but I found that the signals were at their homes. I sent Ken and Peach to go their houses to see if they were there but Ken told me that their parents said that they already left. Peach said he felt the belts auras coming from their rooms. Apparently, they left their belts at home. I was fearing that none of you wore your belts. Now Ken and Peach are scouring he entire city trying to find the other- "
Momoko had stopped listening after a while, she understood what he said and knew what was going on but she was shocked. Not by the fact that her team mates hadn't worn their belts but by the fact that he had called them twice.
She had only been called once.
He had sent Ken and Peach to her friends houses, but what about hers? Well, they only had one kid and a robotic dog running across the town so they couldn't have had enough stamina nor time to go to her house. Since her house was also farthest from both Kaoru's and Miyako's house, she could let that slide. But the call. He said twice. She only heard her's go off once! Maybe she was over thinking things. Maybe he did call her and she just couldn't hear because of all the commotion she was in.
That has to be it. She was just thinking too hard.
Besides she was the leader.
You can't leave the leader out...right?
"MOMOKO WERE YOU EVEN LISTENING!?" The Professor yelled.
"Huh?" Momoko asked, unaware that her thoughts caused her to tune out.
"I said I'm going to call Ken to tell Peach to transform you. Make sure your hidden from sight." And with that her compact turned off.
She was about to put her compact away when she felt Peach's bark waves hit her body. Before she knew what had happened, her body went on autopilot.
"Hyper~ Blossom!"
A pink light flashed, theme music came on, clothes appeared, and she struck her pose for her invisible audience.
You know, the usual.
Blossom took off in a flash of pink light, her fleeting figure heading in the direction of the city's central. Flying over the city, she saw that some of the city had evacuated. She didn't know weather the people where in some heavily guarded area or into the buildings nor did she care just as long as they were out of harms way. Other parts of the city she noticed some people where running away from a certain that was where the chaos was, Blossom headed that way and, of course, people instantly notice her arrival.
"LOOK! It's Blossom!"
"We're saved! The PowerPuff Girls are here!"
"Wait, where's Buttercup and Bubbles?"
"They might be there already or maybe they're just a little a behind."
"Your probably right. Come on, we need to leave or those things will catch up soon."
Blossom was confused by the people's terrified demeanor. They've dealt with monster attacks and the city's people were never this terrified. Sometimes they would even gather to film them fight, so what was so different now?
Almost as if-
A thought crossed her mind, it was as if the HIM's incident had occurred all over again. But that couldn't be it, she was there when they had locked HIM in outer space. So what else was making them so scared. Instead of stopping to ponder over the thought, she just flew quicker to the scene.
Might as well see it for myself.
When she got closer she could hear shots being fired. Cop cars were lined to form a barrier, cops shot, things broke but whatever was causing the commotion was nowhere to be seen. Even if it was a clear bright and sunny day there was just too much smoke hovering the ground to see.
Blossom landed a couple of yard in front of the cop's car shield. The cops ceased their fire at her entrance, fearing that they would it her by mistake and forgetting that bullets don't hurt her. She was about to ask them what had happened, until she heard-
"BLOSSOM, LOOK OUT!"
She turned her head just in time to see a cop car was going to flying at her. She barley had enough time, but she raised her arms and braced for impact.
What she wasn't prepared for was the force behind it. It crashed around her palms but the force caused her to fall onto a knee and apparently made a crater on the ground.
HOLY-What the heck threw that!
She knew one thing though, that that throw wasn't some under handed, random, arch throw. No, it was chucked at her with precision, force and accuracy. From how warm the car was, it must have been thrown at a high speed and great distance. But if the enemy is that far, then who were the cops here shooting at? First, she should put the car down before she dwells on the subject any longer.
After laying the broken cop car to the side, Blossom let out a rather lough sigh of relief, caught her breath and regained her composure, not wanting to look lame in her hero form. Even if she was Blossom at the moment, she was still Momoko and Momoko isn't the type of person that would give off a cool and composed aura. Though she tried her best to hide it, the stiff look on her eyes and thin line of sweat showed how shocked she was from the sudden attack. She gave a baffled look to the officers, a look that demanded for answers.
"In hopes of stopping it from proceeding farther into the city, we built multiple barriers with our cars. But many got injured and in the end we were forced to evacuate a littler closer into the city's edge. But more got hurt, some stayed behind but it started to get further and further in the city. We apologize, our plan back fired." An officer, who Blossom assumed that was the head of her group, bowed waist deep and the ones who weren't on watch nor shooting had also bowed soon after. The officer's hat falling off revealing the trail of blood that dribbled down the officer's head.
"No, it didn't completely backfired. You did last long enough for me to get here. Good job officer, and thank you." Blossom smiled at the officer, seeing relief raise in his eyes.
"You can just leave things to the hero now." She said giving the group an encouraging wink and smile combo.
GaaaaRUoooooohhhhhh~!
Everyone stopped, all wondering what on earth made that monstrous noise.
But when they thought it was gone, it sounded again. Only this time it was higher, it was louder, and longer. The sound bounced off the buildings vibrating the air, but not stopping. Everyone had to cover their ears in hopes to block out the sound, the ground rumbled beneath their feet, and anything glass rippled before they exploded like balloons. One widow cracking here, then another a building away, all windows in that secluded area popping, shattering at there own pace each in a different place.
Blossom would've pondered over the puzzling fact that the widows hadn't shattered at the same time or why it had, instead, chosen to explode in this random pattern.
She WOULD HAVE, if it wasn't for the fact that the noise had shoved it to the back of her mind, as it jealously demanded all of her attention.
Now ,thanks to the noise, all of the officers and Blossom were left defenseless.
The windows from the buildings above shattered and quickly descended to the ground like glimmering, deadly rain.
Growing closer and closer to the helpless humans below.

Hate me yet? Yeah, you probably do.
I decided to cut it off here because the original chapter was twice as long and you guys don't like long chapters. Yeah don't worry, this story is gonna be better than the previous version. I thought to myself- really the guys would just suddenly be good? That's why I'm rewriting it but it's still gonna have the same plot, you guys just don't know what it will be.
I DO THOUGH!
I hoped you enjoyed this chapter!
