Annabeth's POV
The cart moved from the country terrain to a rocky surface. Though the carriage was covered, I could guess we had driven into some sort of cave.
Luke signalled at the driver to stop, and he grabbed my arm in a iron grip, pulled me to my feet.
I glared up at him as he lifted me down to the cave ground and started dragging me to a little cabin.
Percy, please hurry, I thought as I got my last glimpse of sunlight.
The cabin had obviously been abandoned for some time. There were cobwebs hanging in the corners, a coat of dust had settled on almost everything, spring were popping out of the beds, the tap on the sink had rusted over, one of the cupboard doors had come off its top hinges.
Looking at the webs, paranoia filled me. I looked at every single crook of the shack, expecting spiders to scurry out on their disgusting hairy eight legs. A/N: I feel your pain Annabeth.
Shuddering, Luke pushed me towards the bed on the farthest wall. I stumbled away from him and he stalked back out and slammed the door shut.
I heard a bolt sliding into place across the door and then Luke's voice called, "I'll be back soon, dear. Make yourself comfortable."
I ground my teeth and slumped down on the bed, which, surprisingly, didn't break into a million pieces.
How do you manage to get yourself in these situations? I asked myself.
Athena's POV
When the infamous pirate, Percy Jackson, barged through the door, I could swear Frederick almost had a heart attack.
But it was what he said to me before he left that really chilled me to the bone. He was in love with my only daughter.
Percy Jackson was in love with my daughter.
"I can't believe we just did that," Frederick whispered. He fell into his chair and ran a hand over his face.
Bobby and Matthew were frozen in shock, sitting on the floor. Percy Jackson's ghost story had always been their favourite, and now they'd met the ghost in person.
"Luke has Annabeth," I said. "If what Percy said is true."
Frederick looked at me. "Do you really believe him? Come on Athena, he probably just robbed us of one of our most prized family possessions and we didn't even realise."
"No," I said. "He wasn't lying to us." There was too much pain and worry in his eyes for that to be an act.
"Mother?" Matthew said. "Is Annabeth going to be okay?"
I looked out the window to the front garden of the estate. Percy and his crew were probably already long gone. "I hope so."
Luke's POV
I left Annabeth in the little hut and went to see Ethan.
He was residing in the huge cavern connected to the cave where the cabin was located. The cavern was hard to find unless you knew where the entrance was.
Ethan had assembled his best fighters, and they were all waiting in the cavern. There were few of us, but we still outnumbers the forty pirates of the Princess Andromeda and the Argo.
"Are we prepared to fight?" I said.
Ethan nodded. "Yes, but sir, Percy won't be able to find you here, why do we all need to be here?"
"He will find us eventually, I'm sure Calypso knows plenty of tracking spells, and even if he doesn't, if we find him, I still want him dead."
"Very well." Ethan muttered.
I started back to the cabin, and Annabeth was sitting on the small bed, her arms crossed over her chest and her grey eyes narrowed into a glare.
I couldn't believe how much being with Percy had changed her since I first met her. She was polite, didn't talk more than necessary, and she definitely didn't glare. Percy had turned her into one of them, before she met him she would've come with me quietly.
"What do you want?" Annabeth spat.
I pulled a chair out from the table and sat down. "I want you realise your mistake and stay with me. I want you to forget about Percy Jackson."
Her eyes flashed and narrowed even further. "Never. If you think I can forget him, you're even more messed up than I thought."
"God dammit, Annabeth!" I brought my fist down on the table, making a loud bang, but she didn't even blink. "Percy won't find you!" I lied.
"He will," Her voice remained even and calm. "And when he does, he'll kill you."
I stood up, the chair sliding backwards. "The filthy rat can try!"
Annabeth stood too. "You're no match for him, I saw you fight on the docks and he cut you done like you were nothing!"
"NO!" I bellowed, loosing my temper. "I will kill Percy Jackson!"
Percy's POV
Reyna, Jason, Grover, Leo and I stood behind Calypso where she crouched on the floor of my cabin, clutching Annabeth's locket and muttering in a different language.
As she spoke the final words of her spell, a glowing dot appeared on the map rolled out in front of her. Before the spell faded, Leo marked the spot with a cross.
Calypso opened her eyes and stopped speaking, the dot disappearing immediately. Her spell had indicated that Annabeth was on the mainland, in a mountain range along the coast, about a two days journey just the city.
"I know that place!" Reyna cried. "My sister took me there once, there's a whole labyrinth of caves and tunnels in there."
I beamed. "That's great! Thank you so much, Calypso."
She grinned at me and slipped the locket into my hand.
I'm coming Annabeth, just hold on a bit longer.
The end is near, my friends :(
The final battle is coming! DUN DUN DUN!
Hope you all enjoyed the chapter, even though it was just a bit of a filler. I was a bit short on ideas, so I'm sorry for the wait.
Please R&R! ;P
